      My wife and I are visiting this weekend, and we hope to go super early to get a parking spot at the visitor center and then just do easy hikes. Renting an e-bike sounds fun, though I don't know if we want to spend the money on them. Also, not sure if we want to spend time in line waiting for the shuttle. But if the shuttle is cheap, that's probably worth it. I don't mind waiting some.

    We’ve been fortunate to visit some of the same places you’ve been and enjoy your take on them.

      Hello, it's nice to hear from you. We've been on quite the journey since we sold our home and moved into an RV 5 years ago. We set out to see every national park in the lower 48 and we're down to 6 remaining. We don't know how long we'll keep this up but we're still enjoying it and the hiking helps keep us reasonable shape. Angels Landing was a bucket list hike for us. It's great to hear you experienced it also. Our Enchantments hike last month was the hardest endeavor we've ever attempted. If you haven't seen our video of it, you may find inspiration from a 60+ couple :) Best wishes to you guys and we hope to hear from you again! Thanks for the kind comment and Happy Trails!

    When it comes to National Park hikes/climbs, Long's Peak in Rocky Mountain NP is more dangerous. For those who have done both, as I have, I feel most would agree. There is plenty of class 3 scrambling and no chains on Long's Peak, and it's summit is over 14,000 ft. It's also a 15 mile round trip. A hike to the top of Angel's Landing is quite an achievement though, but if you take your time and not bothered much about the exposure, it's not that hard.

    • @BuckeyeDrifters
      @BuckeyeDrifters 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! I cannot disagree with you on any of your points. We’ve talked about Longs Peak as a potential hike but it would be quite hard for us. The only 14er we’ve done is Mt Yale, hard for us but manageable. We appreciate your comment. Happy Trails!

    • @dvan7117
      @dvan7117 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The only reason I commented is because Long's peak lies within a National Park. I didn't mean to diminish your efforts to climb Angels Landing. That climb was a little scary in parts. I did Long's when I was 50 years old. It was hard and dangerous. Angel's Landing was a lot easier for me to do plus the chains helped a lot. I was 37 years old then.@@BuckeyeDrifters

    • @BuckeyeDrifters
      @BuckeyeDrifters 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No offense taken. We’re in our 60’s so Longs will likely never happen. There’s other 14’ers that would be easier for us. We hope to keep hiking for many more years 😊.
