War Horns are not much good in modern warfare, because on the "stealth" or "avoid detection" doctrine almost all militaries use these days.
Besides most modern war horns are essentially the war machine flying or driving by, or firing their weapons. The A-10 Warthog does both. But a Fighter flying over head, especially a sonic boom, also counts.

I've always been a sucker for the super-light, infantry support walker like the AT-ST, the Warhammer 40K Imperial Guard Sentinel, or the AT-RT. A vehicle that can bring much needed firepower on a frame that won't slow your infantry down in environments where they work best. They just feel so practical, like they have a specific job rather than just trying to be a one-vehicle army... even if a walker like that probably wouldn't be that practical in a real-world combat situation.

In lore the guy who discovered the design died before telling anyone how to turn it off. So they just have them walk in loops around the ships at all times when not in use. As for the design itsekf it uses a lot body horror, at Its core there's a servitor with no hands or feet built into the structure itself who pilots it at all times. Until then radiation frombthe engine kills him and they swap him out (mid walk cycle of course) with a new guy sorta like a battery

One walked, or rather a group of walkers, I weirdly never really liked were the titans from Warhammer 40k. They were somehow clumsy and obscene, especially compared to the more mecha like knights, which I always adored. But then I read the Titanicus by Dan Abnett and the titans basically became my number one walker over night. Not so much because of what they were (I still think most of them look sort of goofy) but the depiction of their function and the how the crews operate such a gargantuan machine. It's like a mixture of a tank crew and a war ship with crew maning their stations, bantering and working as a team, each with their own role and that depiction just made them feel so alive and real that it completely changed my opinion of the titans. The reaver and imperator are still kind of ugly tho.

I could talk about the vehicles in supreme commander for hours, and the walkers are a very peculiar area where the cybrans have many of the coolest in any sci-fi universe while nobody else has much of any of them. One thing of note is that the monkeylord, as a "spiderbot," can climb hills that most units cannot, though you need custom maps for this ability to be useful. It also has stealth, and is the cheapest experimental unit, and has the highest dps once in range.

I'm surprised the Chimeran Stalker and/or Goliath from the Resistance games wasn't included on this list. I'm gonna talk about the first game's Stalker here since I think its the coolest looking and its the only one that I can really call a Walker, the ones after the first game are remote drones and don't really count anymore.
Honestly its such a brilliant vehicle and fits the Chimera's adaptive combat tactics to a tee. Its main function is as an Anti-air vehicle, a job that its so good at, that the humans don't bother sending air support if just one is confirmed on the battlefield. However its shown to function pretty well as a normal tank, its Autocannon and turreted machine gun make short work of most infantry and its missiles are just as useful against tanks as they are against aircraft. In one mission a captured Stalker is used to take down its big brother the Goliath, so its no slouch in ground combat either.
Its not well armoured and its power core is exposed on its backside, making it vulnerable to being flanked, but thats hard to do as its surprisingly quick and agile for its size, able to change direction on a dime, an great advantage it enjoys thanks to it being a legged tank. Plus its introduction by a confused soldier just solidified it as a dangerous enemy for me:
"Able Company to Command. We've found the anti-aircraft. You're not going to believe this. It's some sort of walking tank!"
That line, along with these being one of, if not the scariest thing in the game makes this such a badass walker.
