This is when culture comes into play. It's a brilliantly composed song, but that's not the only element to why it's so popular. It's because people have fantastic memories that go along with it. The song probably was not popular in India and is only heard by a few who enjoy western music, so to the average Indian ear it's just another pleasant tune, but lacking the cultural side - Parties, love making, drinking and smoking in the old days

In soul and r&b repetition is the goal. We call it the hook. You guys have a problem with the blues part. Not to mention you are insulting a legend and a classic in black or pop culture. So stop with the crying about repetitive aspect of r&b please. Plus its art and music. What do you want- for it to sound like a novel or movie? Huh!

👍Exactly. I know it's a different culture so I'm not too mad at them but the repetition of the "hook" between verses and at the end of the song is a big part of American music. The hook is what captures you and pulls you in. In our culture WE. LOVE. IT. Especially this song from one of the greatest singers (and songs) of all time.
