Once again Steve I'm sat in my van at work not been able to lay bricks cos of the rain, watching you at Cassien 😡 haha great work as always mate always watch your videos with a smile on my face 👍👊 tight lines
No argument wanted but actually, having a carp on its stomach will do it no harm whatsoever and never will. I am not talking about dropping from any height or anything like this, I am talking about resting the carp in front of you on its stomach, right way up so to speak. It is only in your mind due to our internal organs and so on, that there is this common thought that it would, it does not, and will not. Actually, if you look at many videos, Nash and so on, even scientific types, you will see this happening and no harm has ever come from it. It just looks and seems wrong because of our thought process but the insides of a carp are not our own. They are hardy species, much hardier than common belief and all of the safety gear is not to protect the fish from harm as much as it is to keep the fish in the same LOOKING condition such as scales, no marks, or cut fins, and so on and so to keep in the same cosmetic condition it was caught in, for the next who catches it. Hell in parts of America carp are caught, dragged up rocks, stood on their stomachs for 10 minutes or more, no mats no nothing, and put back to be just fine other than outer signs of mistreatment, of course, I would never condone this treatment with any fish let alone carp,, but my point is the carp were and are fine with that! Anyway, it is not my opinion only and is actually the truth. I would rather see 1000 carp laid on their stomach which brings no harm what so ever such as that in this video, than 1 Pike mishandled by a novice or not without knowledge of how un-hardy a pike is.
Again a superb vid steve. Keep them comming. I'm thinking to make a trip to cassien. And after watching all youre vids on cassien i feel pretty confident to go. Regards from Belgium Arno
steve pardon my english , why did you pack up every evening , isn t it possible to stay on the bank and fish trough the night so you don t have to pack up every time ?
Are you talking about cassien? Night fishing is forbidden and so is staying at the lake, you must leave every evening at sunset or just after depending on the mood of the guarde.
Do you think fish will turn up on prebaited spots in about 5 to 6tf of water? It's a 60 acre wild lake .. definitely fish in there but not packed.. doesn't get fished hardly now. Hopefully I can catch a fish from there.. but iv never fished a wild lake this big. Any tips welcome.. I can only get to certain spots.. if get chance take a look of my last short vid to see the peg. As said any tips welcome.
In my experience it's hard to tempt fish to an area if they don't want to go there in there first place, if fish do visit the area then they can be tempted back and will stay longer if there is food there
@@stevebriggs4638 I no a friend who has caught fish from the area back in 2014 😂 .. other than that iv not got much else to go on. I'll give it a go and also try get to the lake at different times to try spot fish in areas . Thanks for reply.
Great video Steve, nice to see some Cassien action again! Also the other lakes felt very Cassienish to me. What is the next country you’ll try to nick a fifty from? 😎
I would love to see you fish Dale hollow lake in the USA . A giant lake w so many monster fish . It stretches threw 2 USA states Kentucky and Tennessee
I mainly use two cameras - a canon 5D Mk2 for the general filming in front of camera and tripod stuff and a Go Pro Hero 3 for the action footage and boat work
Steve briggs thanks for the response I like the looks of the go-pro type cameras I'm thinking about lure fishing footage where the pike smash up the surface lures late into the autumn sunshine. I really need to invest in a bomb proof camera for still shots.
Yes the Go Pro is great for the action stuff and good quality too. There are several types on the market and some a re very cheap. I do have one of those too but the quality is not the same as the Go Pro.
Nice video but completely different fishing to me never used a boat if I can't catch from the bank then I'm not going to. mind you don't think I could get a boat on the back of my motorbike.
I'm about to start fishing, haven't really got a clue apart from what i see online, I kinda know the basics, but I dunno wether to start freshwater fishing or carp fishing first? Or what rigs I need for either 😂 help me out please Steve? 😂
Well, my normal advice would be to start with something smaller first as carp are very powerful fish and not easy to catch starting from scratch. You can really get set up cheaply for catching perch or roach and they are exciting to catch ( I still fish for them every year). But if you are really keen on the carp then why not. Many people do go straight in to carp fishing these days and there are so many venues with them in. I would advise a small, heavily stocked water to begin with where you can get some action and get used to what it's all about. It's easy to get confused by all the info on rigs and set ups but the best way really is to keep it simple - the rigs I use in these vids are the same that I use everywhere - for smaller fish I would use smaller hooks and lighter hook lengths but those same rigs will work for you.
Steve briggs cheers mate :) much simpler than what other people are on about lol I think ill start off on smaller fish to get the feels for fishing then work up to carp :) thanks Steve really appreciate it, look forward to your next upload 👍
im used to river Fish.and i think these Fish are way to big to be from europe.freak fish made wrong.but i Guess they are dumb as a Fish, and now i felt like i need to play some Xbox to make time og until i become a millionare.

Just out of interest what camera set up do you use mate I've often thought I'd love to try and get some footage of the pike fishing I do.
I mainly use two cameras - a canon 5D Mk2 for the general filming in front of camera and tripod stuff and a Go Pro Hero 3 for the action footage and boat work
