My friend Janet used to tell me about this Hot Spring. She told me about it before she died. I live here so maybe one day I will make it.

So pretty! I lived in Santa Fe, NM for about 7 years and would try and take a trip to Pagosa at least once a month for the hot springs and over to Durango a few times too. That's how I fell in love with the area.

You can reach the hot springs in 45 minutes if you’ve done the hike before. If not you may need more time to figure out your footing etc. Took me an hour and half the first time, 45 the next. I also encountered a bear the second time so stay safe out there in the woods!

This video is horribly misleading. This is one of the more difficult hot springs next to roads to get to. Penny hot springs for example, you park on the highway and walk 20 feet. Telling tourists this is easy will KILL them as they begin walking back UP to the trailhead.

I appreciate your concern. In my mind, a hot springs 20 feet from the highway isn't exactly primitive, which is what I'm focusing on with the title to this video. And if you watched the video in it's entirety, at 6:10 I talk about the hike back and warn visitors that they do need to be in shape for such a hike. Thanks for watching!

@@thisispagosa there's always the ones in Rico that are a few hundred feet away, as well as the 5 or 6 of them between Silverton and Red Mountain Pass, they're all less than ten minutes from the road, but I'd still say primitive
