I realized that I was being a bit harsh on Born to Be. It's truly just not for me and that's ok because the other 3 were :))) I think it's because I liked the first 3 so much that Born to Be came as a sort of disappointment at first, but It's not that bad of a song and I can see why others like it. Please don't use my immediate reaction to it as an excuse to hate on Itzy, regarding the budget and other factors I criticized, that's 100% on JYP not the girls.
Its okay. Its just a pre release and they announced that they gonna release 8 mvs. Of course some of the mvs will have very low budgets. Also please react to their solos (4 mvs and Lias solo audio) Solos all are released.
But to be honest born to be budget is insane considering that it’s a b-side, they are not even going to promote it. Just look at how many backup dancers and the efforts they put in the performance…..they’ve never gotten that for a TT, I’m more worried about the Untouchable(TT) if it’s gonna surpass the efforts they put in born to be.
Born to be is not a title track, they are having another song with a music video (another prerelease) and the actual title track coming in January So in regards of it being “low budget“ it’s just because it’s a b-side, and in my opinion the budget is insane , they auditioned 600 dancers! And the set is so good They also released for each member (except lia🥲) a solo music video so they are going ALL OUT for this album and im so excited for this album to be out i cant waittt 😆
As a Lia stan, it really warms my heart when someone says she likes her ❤🥺 coz when I started listening to ITZY, she was the member that caught my attention a lot, and she became my bias. I hope she comes back healthier than before
Omg do some ppl not like her?!!!! How could anyone not like her :( She's the epitome of adorable. They def couldn't make their songs especially their bubbly cute songs (the ones I love haha) without her tho
@@DiceyBrycie she's the most hated member in ITZY, which is heartbreaking to see, and that is why she had anxiety and took a hiatus for her to take care of herself.
Omg that's terrible, ppl on the internet are absolutely ridiculous. I swear they js roll a die and pinpoint their hate towards someone. She's so extremely talented and gorgeous and the fact that those netizens made her feel like sh*t for absolutely no reason is so heartbreaking. For every person who hates her, I will love her two times more
Lia is cute I personally don't think her dancing is as good as the other members I do like Lia though she has a sweet voice just imo I think she would more suited to a group that does a cuter concept. I hope she takes the time to rest and recover.
The hate against itzy is mostly just some other fandoms banding together to make it seem like they flopped. Its so forced and they continue to this day. Luckily itzy cant actually flop because plenty of their fans (midzy) dont pay attention to the negativity. Itzy never disappoints ❤
I do believe that Born to Be main goal is to showcase their dance skills, they worked with a popular dance studio to put up the performance and a lot of backup dancers applied to be in it. If you'd like I suggest watching their MV behind for it, it shows the whole process.
i was so shamelessly obsessed with sneakers, and i think it’s mainly because i didn’t watch the teasers so i wasn’t set up to be disappointed by the change in concept. sneakers is a fun song and i don’t think it’s meant to be taken seriously. i think the same can be said for boys like u - but that is a song i can’t really get by. it TRULY gives disney, and maybe it’s my deep hatred for theater-musical like sounding songs; but it also gives off that vibe too. cheshire shouldn’t even be on the most hated list imo, it’s such a good song 🥲
Sneakers is literally about the self love concept too i don’t get what y’all on about the “concept change” 😭their concept really hasn’t changed at all only their sound did. I think y’all need to learn the difference between concept and sound change. Really now with the born to be album their sound has gone back to dalla dalla, icy and wannabe sounding. Which from what I see people are reacting to the sound change from their three original songs Dalla Dalla, Icy and Wannabe which is why i think they’re getting hate.
I love Lia so much, but there have always been people saying, "she's bad at dancing", or "holding the group back", and we failed to recognize her constant struggle since debut. The worst part is that when 'Born to Be' was released, so many people were saying "oh it's so much better now that they don't have Lia to hold them back" which is actually so sad, because I love Lia so much and she deserves so much better!
There are 5 members in ITZY. Lia, the blonde one who you liked, is on hiatus just like Google said. (For mental health) Here are the positions: Yeji: Leader, Main Dancer, Lead Vocalist, Sub Rapper I would say Yeji is one of if not the most popular member. She's well liked by international and Korean fans. Ryujin: Main Rapper, Lead Dancer, Sub Vocalist, Center Ryujin is also one of the most if not the most popular member. Her and Yeji are the top two for sure. She's very liked internationally and in Korea. Chaeryeong: Main Dancer, Sub Vocalist, Sub Rapper Chaeryeong has had a lot of hate over the years for supposedly being ugly. She's still pretty liked though. Her sister is Chaeyeon, who was in IZ*ONE and is now a soloist. They were on Sixteen, the survival show that formed Twice together but they both got eliminated. Lia: Main vocalist, sub rapper Lia is the most hated member of ITZY. A lot of her hate stems from the thought that she isn't as good of a dancer as the other members. Many people mistake her as the visual member. Some people also think she doesn't deserve the main vocal position. (She definitely does!) Yuna: Lead Rapper, Lead Dancer, Sub Vocalist, Visual, Maknae Yuna is well liked. She is the visual of ITZY and known as one of the top 4th gen visuals. She used to get hate for supposedly wearing hip pads, but she proved everyone wrong in her U-Go-Girl performance (you should watch it it's so iconic) Who's who? Boys Like You Yeji: 2:21 Lia: 2:15 Chaeryeong: 5:04 (she does this high note) Ryujin: 2:29 Yuna: 2:37 Cheshire Yeji: 6:57 Lia: 6:53 Chaeryeong: 7:26 Ryujin: 7:03 Yuna: 7:09 Cake Yeji: 12:34 Lia: 11:49 Chaeryeong: 12:00 Ryujin: 11:35 Yuna: 11:30 (Yuna is the one who does the "shakey shake, shakey shake shakey shake bust it up, bust it up bust it up) Born to Be Yeji: 16:12 Chaeryeong: 17:00 Ryujin: 16:48 Yuna: 16:24 In my opinion, I don't think ITZY deserves even half of the hate they get. They are a dance and performance based group, so the songs with more vocals are criticized, which I think is a common trend with the hated songs. You didn't cover Sneakers, which I'd say is the MOST hated ITZY song and my personal least favorite. I love all of these and I really loved Cheshire. I hope this all helps!
Idk I'd argue that Chaeryeong now has one of if not the largest/most solid fanbases in Itzy. She may not be the most known but she's recognised as one of the best female dancers in k-pop, she's the closest the group has to a variety star and attends almost every show/event/channel the group is invited to as the representative. Plus over the past year or two she's received massive praise from the GP for her visuals, all I ever see is them talking about her glow up since sixteen.
@@zsalman38bssaddict3I never saw anyone say that😭 everyone just kept comparing it to disney and I get that, but is that an ACTUAL reason to create a hate train for it??
Fr, it was such a shame that it got hated. Sneakers and Boys Like You was loved by Koreans but hated globally, and Cheshire was loved globally, but not liked in Korea. After these 3 their popularity went down☹️
I think their newer songs aren't bad. People are reacting to the concept change from their three original songs Dalla Dalla, Icy and Wannabe. And their dances aren't as viral as in those songs too. I really like Itzy's Mafia in the Morning, and Loco song too. I really like Lia's singing, especially when she sings lower. I hope that Itzy sings lower pitches songs in the future. And become more of a harmony and RB group. I think it would suit them better.
I think the biggest problem isn't concept, more so rollout of albums as well as quality of music. The rollout of Sneakers is iconically one of the worst in kpop. With quality, I don't usually listen to quality (I mean "Beware" is my fav izone title and people say the quality sucks) but the quality of their modern songs aren't as good as their old music
To me Itzy's main issue is that none of the member have vocals that suit the super high tone of their songs (except Yuna and Chaeryoung but ironically they're rarely/basically never the ones getting the chorus or the most lines). The songs and their vocals were always that way, but it used to be better bc the production of the songs were more leaning toward club music/hyperpop inspo. But in "classical" pop songs like Cheschire or Boys like you where all your attention goes on the vocals and not on the instrumental, it kinda ruins the songs. Their latest song Mr Vampire where Yuna and Chaeryoung finally got chorus/vocal high-key bridge and Yeji and Ryujin got mostly parts that are in their vocal range highlighted what needed to be done in Itzy's production
@@randomkid4783 what old songs do y'all even know cz no way u guys rlly think it'z me/not shy ep > any of their latest eps if anything the quality is increasing unless ur j talking about the title tracks which doesn't also make that much sense bc it's more of a matter of a sound preference rather than sound quality but I do agree that the direction their division takes when doing rollouts n ways of presenting projects is truly messed up
Born to be is a bside so i think that’s why it didn’t have a proper mv but their title track “untouchable” that’s coming out on jan 8 will most likely have a proper mv. It’s actually a bit shocking that you said that the choreography for born to be was weird bc that’s what’s getting the song most of its praise lmaoo. All the girls have also released solo songs that they wrote and composed to go with this album. The shortened version of Yeji’s song Crown on My Head, Lia’s (your fav) song Blossom, Ryujin’s song Run Away, Chaeryeong’s song Mine, and Yuna’s song Yet, But are all out on youtube. The full versions will be out along with the album on jan 8 incase you want to react.
It's literally a hate train because other fandoms want to drag them down. The songs aren't bad. But people pile on to add these hate comments. It literally led to Lia's hiatus. Several of their more recent songs like Bet On Me have indirectly reacted to that hate and said they intend to rise above it because they realize they're good enough.
While I completely disagree about Born to Be, I appreciate your overall take and thought that was an honest response. A lot of the hate ITZY has gotten over time is artificial and reflects that they were probably the most popular 4th gen group when they came out. People who enjoy hating and get attention doing it kind of locked on to a couple anti-ITZY themes and it still goes on. Their music does range a lot and there are some people who prefer some eras more than others, which makes sense, and some of them didn't take to the Cake-Cheshire-Sneakers era. From your reactions, I suspect you'd like Swipe, Icy, Not Shy for sure. Wannabe is their most popular and Dalla Dalla, their debut, is still pretty popular.
their bsides are sooo good n in general the quality of their eps has been only increasing n ppl j seem to completely ignore them as if they don't make over 80% of their discography
omgg thanks for reacting to itzy. I'm midzy, and I'd like to tell you a little about why people have hated itzy's recent releases (the exact ones you reacted to) It all started with sneakers, at first, an elegant, mature and royal concept had been shown, but as the days went by, the concept abruptly changed to a colorful, striking one and nothing like the previous one, that's when everyone got upset. , because it was not what was expected, but we decided to wait for the mv, where more people got upset, because according to them sneakers was not up to par with itzy (I agree with that), but the problem was not that they criticized jyp, but that the girls, saying that they had dug their own grave. All this was because Itzy always made everyone have high expectations for them, because of the good music they released (they came from resounding, loco) and suddenly, the bad organization, and the low quality songs" made everyone hate them, throwing massive hate at every single they released, regardless of the personal tastes of each one, it had already become a kind of custom to throw hate at them for every new song. , because according to those people, nothing would be better than loco, icy and wanna be. And as for Lia, she remains on an indefinite hiatus due to her mental health. Since she debuted, everyone has been very hard on her, criticizing her for even the smallest thing and wishing she would leave the group for not being "good enough." like the other members. Finally, as always, I want to thank each of the true midzys who have stayed despite everything, and have supported the girls no matter what, and even if they didn't like the latest songs, they still did everything possible so that The girls remained happy and aware that we love them very much. Once again, thanks for reacting! xoxo
I saw what you were reacting to and knew that "Cake" would be part of the list. I knew you would like it after you heard "Boys like you" and saw how you loved it. Glad you enjoyed it!!
see guys, it's more about music taste and that's it, cuz he really like all the cute Itzy songs and the tough side of Itzy, he didn't felt it, and that's ok. Personally born to be it's my favorite Itzy song so far, and still I love almost all their songs! People try to throw hate just cuz wans't their taste, but, be fr, could be somebodys taste, just saying!
It became a trend to hate on Itzy. their songs are suposed to be fun, they have many good b-sides and they are great and energetic live performers on stage. i realy don't understand the hate, poor Lia has been hated so much for her dance and singing no wonder she is on hiatus for mental health. You can see this with other groups too where they are not treated as humans, twitter is wild...
honestly the itzy hate train is less about the quality of music but people just being assholes tbh. i just think they're scared about itzy's popularity and girls succeeding. even though you didnt like born to be, as a midzy im so happy about how respectful you were about it, music taste is different for everybody and even though you didnt like it, you considered that some of us do enjoy the song (im into noise music so i loved it). you should definetly check out their solos (yeji - crown on my head, Lia - Blossom, ryujin - Run away, chaeryeong - mine, yuna - yet but) and also some of their earlier releases like dalla dalla, wannabe, and loco (a midzy favorite). at this point im recommending their entire discography but itzy is also known to have really good Japanese releases, especially voltage and ringo :))
its so hard to be a midzy these days 💀i did not like sneakers or cake (i like born to be and boys like you) BUT I DEFENDED THEM WITH MY LIFE, ACTING LIKE I LOVE THOSE SONGS. but im glad that itzy seems to make better music now bc it was getting hard to attack haters left and right. I LOVE MYGIRLS SM
fr, like if you don't like the song then don't listen to it, Itzy's music can't please anyone so if you don't like it, then that's mean it's not your cup of tea and that's totally okay, this hate train was so forced
@@HwangSeokRi0602 Sure, but you can't deny criticism. There's an obvious hate train, but there are people who actually make good points about ITZY's music. I think they just lack identity and sound tbh.
It would be cool if you could react to their solos too! 😃 2:05 These are their names in order from front to back: 1.Yeji (Leader) 2. Chaeryeong 3. Yuna 4. Ryujin (My ult bias💘) 5. Lia (currently on hiatus 😭 she's the one you were saying you liked so much)
i lovee all the recent itzy songs too esp born to be😭😭 im not even a stan like that but its so crazy seing so many ppl hate them now i rlly dk why and i feel bad for them
I was a little wary of this video but im glad I watched it. It's been quite hard as a fan to see how people turned on them and behaved like itzy personally injured their parents. They didnt just come for the music, they threw really severe hate at each member, especially Lia and it's all been for a little hit tweet and for the clout they seem to get from that.
I just think there are some people who think all music has to be hard hitting or lyrically artistic or mean something, etc. And that's okay! But some of us can also just enjoy light, fun songs as well. And tbh I think since they debuted a lot of younger people have become kpop stans and with that brings people who are growing up and going through stages where they think they'll look uncool if they're listening to a song like sneakers. And I get that! I'm sure we've all had that phase. But I'm glad you liked them! Your Disney comment is very spot on. ❤
Born to be is a b-side intro song to the album. Its performance centric like how they used Killshot for Kill My Doubt comeback. ITZY has done many many concepts and thats one of the reasons that people started the hate train. By the way, your reactions have been completely opposite of the general netizens. Its interesting.
Some people enjoy jumping on hate trains (especially on twitter) It's nice that you want to make your own opinion and check out the songs, more people should do that. I enjoyed the video, hope you do more in this style❤ . Of course you can't like every song from an artist. Also many kpop stans are hypocrites, if a group they like does a different sound they are versatile, not afraid to experiment and have a diverse discography, if not they are confused, desperate and have no concept, make it make sense. let's just enjoy the music that we like
It makes me so happy to see how much you loved Lia and noticed her even missing from their new song born to be. Shes been taking a break because her mental health hasn’t been good and she also has always got a lot of hate so that definitely doesn’t help. 😭❤
we’re exactly the same..cake was a hit to me and boys like u was cute but i didn’t like cheshire or born to be at all. the hate train is very forced bcs even if they release a good track now it’s automatically not liked bcs it’s itzy
The hate train started when a couple of their comebacks didn't seem to connect with people, but grew bigger in part because of people who were definitely not in the fandom. And mostly because of international fans. Because in Korea they've only had one actual flop, Cheshire (peaked at #89), two underperforming singles (Loco at #26 and Cake at #22), and the rest were either moderate hits, or big hits. Sneakers gets a ton of hate from the international community, but it's their 3rd biggest hit in Korea, and peaked at #5 there (their second Top 5 hit in their entire career). Intl fans will see this chart run: 105-89-111-134-125-130-133-137-151-181-198 (chart run for Cheshire) and be like "it was definitely bigger than this other one" 106-29-13-5-5-6-9-9-9-11-14-17-21-26-32-33-36-37-44-47-54-64-67-82-83-78-79-87-97-106-112-126-126-140-142-151-166-175 (chart run for Sneakers) The fact that they changed concepts and styles so many times since their debut, was also one of the criticisms they got. Which I think it's a bit unfair, because you want artists to evolve and change. But they did seem like their lost their... direction (if that makes sense) during the Cheshire era imo (which wasn't well received, but international fans hated it less than Sneakers). These past 2 comebacks have been great in my opinion. I just hope their new album and single do well.
Thank you for your opinions. I appreciate your views But like most of the time stans are not even coming for their music anymore they hate on the girls themselves. And it’s just weird.
“Hated” at this point is just the haters lol Like I understand people genuinely not liking the route an artist changes too, but for them to say it’s terrible is an overstatement lol

I think a big reason for a lot of hate for this era of Itzy boils down to a lot of KPOP fans thinking they’re way more mature than they are. It’s like, the mixture of young fans not wanting to seem young and older fans that feel self conscious about kpop being “for kids”. I really like Itzy and I like these songs (I don’t like the Cheshire chorus but I like the rest of the song), but I think that’s a reason for some people, they just want everything to be “cool and sexy”, while Itzy’s thing has almost always been fun and quirky.
Tbh I was searching for a comment that explained some context but I couldn’t so I’ll write one ig 😭 Itzy was a target of their concept getting “outdated” in the kpop industry They started off with a love yourself concept with also a few bright or fun elements like we can see in “icy”, “dalla dalla” or “wannabe”. Then people started complaining their message was getting repetitive so they released “not shy”, which talks about love and also still has a kinda of bright girl crush fun concept ? but people still complained about it. That’s when the drastic concept change happened and we went to “mafia in the morning” which is a much darker concept. However, like always, the public was not satisfied and there were people asking for them to come back to their old concept and others who wanted itzy to stay in this concept. So ITZY released “loco” which is a mixture of that fun concept with a darker image. Internationally it was really well received but in Korea that was marked as their worst charted song in their career. Now we go to where it all went downhill. Sneakers. See I don’t think sneakers was a bad song at all, the problem was how jyp tricked people. Initially, when the teasers started being posted, what we saw was a royal chic concept and people started getting excited for it, but then more teasers like the tracklist and so on got released and instead of a chic “royal” poster, there were like fun elements in it so it got everyone confused. Suddenly, a tik tok spoiling the chorus of sneakers was posted and since it caught people by surprise (in the bad way) everyone started hating on them since then. The hate continued to a point where everything itzy did was seen as cringe, people started criticizing their vocals, dance, stage presence, everything. It was hell to say the least, people couldn’t even praise itzy and you would have haters on top of you saying they didn’t deserve it. The bright side of it all was that the song was one of their highest charting songs ever in Korea! So now they were in conflict to whether satisfy the Korean public or the international one. Even though the sneakers / itzy hate kind of died down, it got back when they released “boys like you” and “cheshire”. Boys like you got hated for sounding a lot like a Taylor swift song and being childish, for their “horrible” vocals, etc. Cheshire was actually more loved but still hated a lot for the shouty chorus, again “horrible” vocals and now because their dance was too simple for their liking (Itzy was always known for their hard dances). The song “cake” also got hated for being “terrible” as well, but since a lot of people just kinda tuned down on itzy, I didn’t see much people commenting on it. Now with born to be, a lot of people are praising saying it’s their best song and that this was the itzy they’ve always wanted to see but lately you can still see a BUNCH of people hating on it because their mv faced plagiarism accusations saying they tried to copy “drama” by aespa, because they “fell down”, or because people still think they should’ve never changed concept in the first place. The itzy hate train comes from people who want to see itzy doing what is the current “style”, the problem is that itzy has always held the message that they were different and they were here to deliver something new, even their slogan is “all in us”, so why should they change their concepts for what the people like? To add onto the hate pile, a lot of other ggs debuted along their career that delivered the so called concept the public wanted to see, so people dropped itzy to stan other groups who were more of their liking (which doesn’t sit right with me because, why do you feel the need to drop something of your liking for other things that you love?). In conclusion, this itzy hate train is so forced they make it seem like their songs are the most vile thing to have ever stepped on the planet. I thought your reaction video was a really good example on how if we have an unbiased opinion of someone outside of all the context, this hate is all stupid and from bored people who do it to jump on the “trend”.
lia was the girl how throw the rock ryujin was the one with the bow the one who did the high note is chaeryeong the blonde one is yuna then the last one is yeji with the cat eyes
People hate itzy for their songs, they try different concepts but it's impossible because people hate that they are trying something new. They hate Lia for being "too lazy" which she's not, they hate Chaeryoung for being ugly when she isnt, they hate Yuna for her hip pad addiction but when she wore low rise jeans ppl were stunned, stabbed those haters wrong.
the hate on all these songs felt so forced tbh (except for cheshire, ppl actually liked that one) was wondering if you would react to purple kiss choreography, I think they have a rlly good dance line plus I know 3 of them choreograph.
fyi SNSD did that too with CATCH ME IF YOU CAN.. also this comeback they're releasing 7 mv's 4 for each members (minus Lia), 2 pre-release group mv, and 1 title track
I mean, I think the reason they get so much hate IMO, is because people built up expectations for the group- like everybody wants Wannabe 2.0 or Dalla Dalla 2.0😭 But the thing is, they never lost their main sound and the fact that their lyrics are always meaningful in some way..like🤷♀️ They're exploring genres/concepts, but I can still feel the Itzy energy, even in their Japan releases I was *not* expecting Boys Like You when it came out, so it was a bit underwhelming (better than sneakers imo but that's just my personal taste)...listening to it again, its so cute and if the song was given to VCHA, everybody would've been like "awww" or "they ate" Ppl say they have no direction but I swear they're just singing songs that have good lyrics for their fans- ppl are just being picky. Itzy gives boy like you vibes and gets hate, Itzy gives mature vibes with Born to be and gets hate..lets bfr (I don't stan them but the amount of hate they get is wild)
You'll soon discover that k-pop for whatever reason is flooded with overly emotional and dramatic over nothing fans, And I understand it's that way in every aspect of the entertainment world and I'm certainly not saying its all the fans, infact most are very loyal and respectful but the toxic ones are very toxic. That's just my "expert" opinion lol 😉
i like this song cus it feels like those game soundtracks, fierce and strong. Boys like you is not on my alley. I like cheshire and cake too, they're fun in different ways. Cake is more like "let's have fun" regardeless of haters and Cheshire is bit sexier but sassy and playful. I don't think is fair to say their flopping. I'm not a huge fan of many 4th gen groups and I think their recent releases are all a bunch of the same sutff. at least itzy is trying to bring different stuff they're not very used to.
I could make a whole thesis on how this specific reaction proves that the hate on Itzy was so forced and everyone just decided to join the bandwagon. Their releases were NEVER BAD. They've always been such a talented group that it became threatening. It's actually crazy how easily one's opinion can change in favor of the so called "majority". Personally, I think everyone was just taken aback by their release on 'Sneakers' because JYP hyped it up so much and marketed it to be something it was not (whether or not it was intentional, i don't think it was a wise decision). After that, they made it seem like it was ALWAYS justified to hate on Itzy.
There's a comment in a forum with 100-ish upvote that say Born to Be is too dark and doesn't suit Itzy while Itzy just have a cb few months ago with Cake and criticized for being too bright or teenagerish, how absurd it is man
in my opinion the reason for the change in itzys public opinion is that (from what I’ve seen) a lot of their fandom is international so with songs such as cake or sneakers they (as in the company) try to appeal to them, but fail to see that many international fans became fans bc of their catchy beats and don’t look for English lyrics or references. Many are caught off guard with the sometimes “cringey” lyrics such as in sneakers and cake. They probably also tried to experiment with more playful beats which have been received as more childish, i.e. calling them “disney channel reject” songs. Idk what ppl hate abt Cheshire and born to be was since they’re personally some of my faves and had that more funky beat I like! but yea this is a really long comment lol but I absolutely have been loving their recent comebacks as well as the Japanese comebacks!! (also hope Lia gets better soon
Dude likes FUNZY more than CVNTZY and that's ok. As a cvntzy enthusiast 'born to be' is really good and it is giving, they're slaying. 'CHESHIRE' is the perfect example of being in between FUNZY & CVNTZY.
if i remember right born to be is only a pre-release (i saw people say that so if im wrong sorry!) and after that the 4 girls solo mvs came out (lia didnt have one since blossom was released early or something and her hiatus) and after that the title track mv comes out with the album?
sneakers and cake and boys like you are my literal favorite titles i love their fun/cute older itzy vibes and I'll never understand the hate. I understand it not being your taste, but the hate is absolutely ridiculous.
Lol never trust kpop twitter. Kpop fan wars make it so that there's no true objectiveness bc it's usually not the song itself is bad but that kpop fans are trying to bash each other using the songs. It's cray cray and I'm glad you checked them out to make up your own mind. Dunno how long youve been in kpop but, this is par for the course on fandoms which is why I don't have a twitter lol. Ok take care and happy new year!
Not you forgetting the queen of being hated on, 'sneakers' XD (for some context that song was immensely hated on bc the company presented the concept of the album as something badass and with stylish concept pics, and then the Title track was like 'put my sneakers on ^-^' and left everyone like °-°? ) but you're right, boys like you was too hated on, it's a bop!
Tbf, the only reason why I find born to be bearable is the choreography, but the hate on the rest of their 2022-2023 discography was pulled out of thin air. But I feel exactly the same for Born To Be.
tbh, boys like you might be one of their worst title tracks . but that doesn't make it a bad song. is it a cliche Disney channel song? yes. but didnt we all like this before????
some people just didn't like the changes in music. if you really compare those songs from their earlier songs, the difference is just obvious. its just a matter of music preference i think
The last part in born to be is why my producing teacher says that good mixing makes a bad song sound good and bad mixing makes a masterpiece of a song bad..
1.Love this song, but yes unfortunatelly it wasn't their fanbase. I kid you not when I went to see them live, and they put out the mv while the girls were changing, nobody but me singed along, and I got weird looks from 2 girls sitting next to me. Then when they came out and performed the song...crickets...except for the do I look like your mommy part. 2. Could not get into it because of the chorus...just something about the hey why so serious....is too strong...kind of has that red velvet really bad boy effect, where I just can't pinpoint but something about the ah ah ahhhahah is offputting to my ears. Is a shame because I lit love everything else in the song. Especially the concept and choreo. 3. I like it is a fun song...I just don't think it helped that around the same time Kard also released a song named cake...and even the dance was similar...also jyp is more focused on trying to get nmix out of their slump since they just started...while even though itzy is flopping with general public, they have an established fanbase that will buy their stuff regardless. 4.I feel like is missing something...like they were super close to making it amazing. honestly I think whoever is in charge of producing for Itzy just doesn't know what their sound is...they had an established sound early on, but it seems after LOCO JPY really wanted to target western audience, and it fired back. Personally I think if the teaser for sneakers wasn't them looking all elegant, then it would of been a hit.
You should listen to mr. vampire that came out today! Btw I love how you didin't just throw trash on born to be even tho you didn't like it thank u sm, it breaks my heart seeing itzy beeing so hated for no reason😭
I think what happened is Wannabe put the bar so high up that they couldn't really live up to it with the next releases? also, all of their previous releases were more of this confident, young but not in a childish type of way vibe, and then when boys like you dropped people were just surprised with the more childish song-like vibe. Like everyone here says it's not a bad song, but considering that they dropped it right after MITM (I think? correct me if I'm wrong) it was a completely different vibe. after boys like you and sneakers, people just didn't like the direction they headed in I guess. I love Cheshire personally since it feels more like their older releases. But I unstanned after cake just because their music is just not my vibe anymore. even with the MV idk why it reminded me of Cocomelon, (I'm so sorry lol) but yeah I think that's what happened with a lot of people. either way I still root for the girls.
I don't know if you thougth about it, but since you're a new midzy and you like Lia, you could do a video reacting to the girl's solos mvs and lia's solo lyric video too(it would be amazing for ppl to remember she has also one :') I completely adore her solo it's one of my fave solos from the girls, I could say it is my favorite), it's really soft and light, and her voice is just amazingly beautiful
I'm going to be totally honest, even if ITZY wasn't one of my favorite groups, there's really no song by them that I genuinely don't like or think that it's bad, wether it's not my fave or is, there's no song I genuinely dislike, sneakers definetely got me by surprise with the concept but I've never hopped in any hate train, cause I love how ITZY always tries unique styles and give their all to make something amazing and I'll never belittle that Also, I like Born to be, I'll be honest, I also think there's A LOT of room for improvemente, and they could've blend the chorus better to the song, I don't like the lyrics in the chorus, they could've done a better work with that(not talking about the girls, but the producers). But also, not being a title track and also being a song to mostly focus in the choreography I actually enjoy listening to it after learninbg the choreo, and actually love watching them perform cause this song showcases their stage presence and control over the stage amazingly
I realized that I was being a bit harsh on Born to Be. It's truly just not for me and that's ok because the other 3 were :))) I think it's because I liked the first 3 so much that Born to Be came as a sort of disappointment at first, but It's not that bad of a song and I can see why others like it. Please don't use my immediate reaction to it as an excuse to hate on Itzy, regarding the budget and other factors I criticized, that's 100% on JYP not the girls.
hey, don't apologise for having an opinion :) it's good that ure honest because that's what we like in a reacting video!
Born to be is not a title track, they are having another song with a music video (another prerelease) and the actual title track coming in January
So in regards of it being “low budget“ it’s just because it’s a b-side, and in my opinion the budget is insane , they auditioned 600 dancers! And the set is so good
They also released for each member (except lia🥲) a solo music video
so they are going ALL OUT for this album and im so excited for this album to be out i cant waittt 😆
Born to be isn’t a title track like the other 3 you reacted it to. It’s a bside with a dance performance.
For every person who hates her, I will love her two times more
I miss her so much!
Truee (am crying)
I do believe that Born to Be main goal is to showcase their dance skills, they worked with a popular dance studio to put up the performance and a lot of backup dancers applied to be in it. If you'd like I suggest watching their MV behind for it, it shows the whole process.
I like that Itzy doesn't make the same sounding songs for every comeback.
Exactly 😌
i was so shamelessly obsessed with sneakers, and i think it’s mainly because i didn’t watch the teasers so i wasn’t set up to be disappointed by the change in concept. sneakers is a fun song and i don’t think it’s meant to be taken seriously. i think the same can be said for boys like u - but that is a song i can’t really get by. it TRULY gives disney, and maybe it’s my deep hatred for theater-musical like sounding songs; but it also gives off that vibe too. cheshire shouldn’t even be on the most hated list imo, it’s such a good song 🥲
Sneakers is addictive 😅
Sneakers is literally about the self love concept too i don’t get what y’all on about the “concept change” 😭their concept really hasn’t changed at all only their sound did. I think y’all need to learn the difference between concept and sound change. Really now with the born to be album their sound has gone back to dalla dalla, icy and wannabe sounding. Which from what I see people are reacting to the sound change from their three original songs Dalla Dalla, Icy and Wannabe which is why i think they’re getting hate.
right like sneakers is so catchy and fun, i love it sm 😭 i used to not listen to it bc of the hate but now it’s one of my favs from itzy fs
(For mental health)
Here are the positions:
Yeji: Leader, Main Dancer, Lead Vocalist, Sub Rapper
I would say Yeji is one of if not the most popular member. She's well liked by international and Korean fans.
Ryujin: Main Rapper, Lead Dancer, Sub Vocalist, Center
Ryujin is also one of the most if not the most popular member. Her and Yeji are the top two for sure. She's very liked internationally and in Korea.
Chaeryeong: Main Dancer, Sub Vocalist, Sub Rapper
Chaeryeong has had a lot of hate over the years for supposedly being ugly. She's still pretty liked though. Her sister is Chaeyeon, who was in IZ*ONE and is now a soloist. They were on Sixteen, the survival show that formed Twice together but they both got eliminated.
Lia: Main vocalist, sub rapper
Lia is the most hated member of ITZY. A lot of her hate stems from the thought that she isn't as good of a dancer as the other members. Many people mistake her as the visual member. Some people also think she doesn't deserve the main vocal position. (She definitely does!)
Yuna: Lead Rapper, Lead Dancer, Sub Vocalist, Visual, Maknae
Yuna is well liked. She is the visual of ITZY and known as one of the top 4th gen visuals. She used to get hate for supposedly wearing hip pads, but she proved everyone wrong in her U-Go-Girl performance (you should watch it it's so iconic)
Who's who?
Boys Like You
Yeji: 2:21
Lia: 2:15
Chaeryeong: 5:04 (she does this high note)
Ryujin: 2:29
Yuna: 2:37
Cheshire
Yeji: 6:57
Lia: 6:53
Chaeryeong: 7:26
Ryujin: 7:03
Yuna: 7:09
Cake
Yeji: 12:34
Lia: 11:49
Chaeryeong: 12:00
Ryujin: 11:35
Yuna: 11:30 (Yuna is the one who does the "shakey shake, shakey shake shakey shake bust it up, bust it up bust it up)
Born to Be
Yeji: 16:12
Chaeryeong: 17:00
Ryujin: 16:48
Yuna: 16:24
In my opinion, I don't think ITZY deserves even half of the hate they get.
Cheshire was hated for NOO reason it’s so good 😔
But he said he don't like lia
boys like u was so hated, idk why it's such a good song!!
they released it the same time taylor was having her album so the similarities were alot and most ppl said it was a cheap taylor rejectee
wait I know u from twitter loool😭
@@zsalman38bssaddict3I never saw anyone say that😭 everyone just kept comparing it to disney and I get that, but is that an ACTUAL reason to create a hate train for it??
Sneakers hate train 😭😭
Well... kill my doubt album has the same vibe as ITZY's first 3 releases
I think bratty from their kill my doubt EP is RnB fusion ,im not that sure tho
@@randomkid4783 what old songs do y'all even know cz no way u guys rlly think it'z me/not shy ep > any of their latest eps if anything the quality is increasing unless ur j talking about the title tracks which doesn't also make that much sense bc it's more of a matter of a sound preference rather than sound quality but I do agree that the direction their division takes when doing rollouts n ways of presenting projects is truly messed up
Since you like their 'Funzy' side you should totally react to Dalla dalla, Icy, Sneakers , and Not shy
I love their alter egos funzy and cuntzy. 🤣
it’s really nice seeing someone enjoying itzy’s newer brighter concepts
Several of their more recent songs like Bet On Me have indirectly reacted to that hate and said they intend to rise above it because they realize they're good enough.
itzy's hate train was so bad , i literally cried many time because of hates.
Wannabe is their most popular and Dalla Dalla, their debut, is still pretty popular.
their bsides are sooo good n in general the quality of their eps has been only increasing n ppl j seem to completely ignore them as if they don't make over 80% of their discography
also side note I'm so happy they like lia lol
Right. I love their b sides. Psychic lover has a special place in my heart and im waiting so much for Mr.Vampire which i think is coming tonight
@@thisthatbetbetter omg taste n same I'm so exited the teaser sounded so magical
omgg thanks for reacting to itzy.
I'm midzy, and I'd like to tell you a little about why people have hated itzy's recent releases (the exact ones you reacted to)
It all started with sneakers, at first, an elegant, mature and royal concept had been shown, but as the days went by, the concept abruptly changed to a colorful, striking one and nothing like the previous one, that's when everyone got upset. , because it was not what was expected, but we decided to wait for the mv, where more people got upset, because according to them sneakers was not up to par with itzy (I agree with that), but the problem was not that they criticized jyp, but that the girls, saying that they had dug their own grave.
Once again, thanks for reacting! xoxo
itzy gets so much hate for nothing they make such good music!!
BORN TO BE IS A SLAY SONG
Going from cake to born to be is such whiplash 😭😭
Literally I just new it was gonna be confusion with Lia gone and different style 😭
honestly the itzy hate train is less about the quality of music but people just being assholes tbh. i just think they're scared about itzy's popularity and girls succeeding. even though you didnt like born to be, as a midzy im so happy about how respectful you were about it, music taste is different for everybody and even though you didnt like it, you considered that some of us do enjoy the song (im into noise music so i loved it). you should definetly check out their solos (yeji - crown on my head, Lia - Blossom, ryujin - Run away, chaeryeong - mine, yuna - yet but) and also some of their earlier releases like dalla dalla, wannabe, and loco (a midzy favorite). at this point im recommending their entire discography but itzy is also known to have really good Japanese releases, especially voltage and ringo :))
If u dont know, ITZY is a dance-based group. So yeah, they had a great dancing skill
Their dancing is AMAZING! Their moves are so satisfying omg
Watching you like Boys Like You healed me..😌
its so hard to be a midzy these days 💀i did not like sneakers or cake (i like born to be and boys like you) BUT I DEFENDED THEM WITH MY LIFE, ACTING LIKE I LOVE THOSE SONGS. but im glad that itzy seems to make better music now bc it was getting hard to attack haters left and right.
Resume: none of this songs is bad
It would be cool if you could react to their solos too! 😃
2:05 These are their names in order from front to back:
1.Yeji (Leader)
2. Chaeryeong
3. Yuna
4. Ryujin (My ult bias💘)
5. Lia (currently on hiatus 😭 she's the one you were saying you liked so much)
When you can please don't forget your bias' solo. (already assuming Lia caught your eye) Blossom is just a lyric video but it's a bop.
So much people miss it 😭@jeffdgl15
12:25 the girl that does the "shake it shake" part is Yuna :)
i lovee all the recent itzy songs too esp born to be😭😭 im not even a stan like that but its so crazy seing so many ppl hate them now i rlly dk why and i feel bad for them
perfect example of how different everyones taste is
I was a little wary of this video but im glad I watched it. It's been quite hard as a fan to see how people turned on them and behaved like itzy personally injured their parents. They didnt just come for the music, they threw really severe hate at each member, especially Lia and it's all been for a little hit tweet and for the clout they seem to get from that.
i also didn't like born to be at first listen, but the more i listen to it i'm getting obsessed!
i didn’t know “born to be” was apart of hate train. I think rather “bet on me” was rly hated. like it’s acc so good imo
Also many kpop stans are hypocrites, if a group they like does a different sound they are versatile, not afraid to experiment and have a diverse discography, if not they are confused, desperate and have no concept, make it make sense. let's just enjoy the music that we like
they shaking on their fucking shoes bc ik theyre ganging up on itzy so their fandom wont be subjected to hate like itzy is experiencing
It makes me so happy to see how much you loved Lia and noticed her even missing from their new song born to be. Shes been taking a break because her mental health hasn’t been good and she also has always got a lot of hate so that definitely doesn’t help. 😭❤
Happy to see a new viewer share the same reaction I had when it comes to Lia. She is so adorable. 😇😇
Hope she recovers well
we’re exactly the same..cake was a hit to me and boys like u was cute but i didn’t like cheshire or born to be at all. the hate train is very forced bcs even if they release a good track now it’s automatically not liked bcs it’s itzy
Intl fans will see this chart run:
105-89-111-134-125-130-133-137-151-181-198 (chart run for Cheshire)
and be like "it was definitely bigger than this other one"
106-29-13-5-5-6-9-9-9-11-14-17-21-26-32-33-36-37-44-47-54-64-67-82-83-78-79-87-97-106-112-126-126-140-142-151-166-175 (chart run for Sneakers)
The fact that they changed concepts and styles so many times since their debut, was also one of the criticisms they got.
I appreciate your views
But like most of the time stans are not even coming for their music anymore they hate on the girls themselves. And it’s just weird.
Itzy has received so much hate they don't deserve. For all the people talking sht about my girls, y'all have a special place in hell.
We need a part 2! Their debut song “Dalla Dalla” is THAT song. Along with Icy, Wannabe and Not shy. Their earlier songs were the best genuinely.
boys like you is amazing, and i will not accept any other opinions! poor lia suffering from all the hate towards them, she's my bias 😢
“Hated” at this point is just the haters lol
Like I understand people genuinely not liking the route an artist changes too, but for them to say it’s terrible is an overstatement lol

Tbh I was searching for a comment that explained some context but I couldn’t so I’ll write one ig 😭
Itzy was a target of their concept getting “outdated” in the kpop industry
They started off with a love yourself concept with also a few bright or fun elements like we can see in “icy”, “dalla dalla” or “wannabe”.
Mitm definitely was the biggest 50/50 split I’ve seen in kpop. You either loved it or you hated it.
all these songs SLAPP!
I love Cheshire and Cake so much!!
lia was the girl how throw the rock ryujin was the one with the bow the one who did the high note is chaeryeong the blonde one is yuna then the last one is yeji with the cat eyes
I've seen ITZY live (with Lia) and they were ON FIRE!!!!
fyi SNSD did that too with CATCH ME IF YOU CAN.. also this comeback they're releasing 7 mv's
4 for each members (minus Lia),
2 pre-release group mv, and 1 title track
Not a hardcore midzy at all but these ppl just hate itzy for no reason their song arent even that bad😭
i really like this reaction vid! i'm looking forward to your reaction videos for other itzy mvs. heheheh
born to be is the best song out of all of the other songs
I mean, I think the reason they get so much hate IMO, is because people built up expectations for the group- like everybody wants Wannabe 2.0 or Dalla Dalla 2.0😭 But the thing is, they never lost their main sound and the fact that their lyrics are always meaningful in some way..like🤷♀️ They're exploring genres/concepts, but I can still feel the Itzy energy, even in their Japan releases
I was *not* expecting Boys Like You when it came out, so it was a bit underwhelming (better than sneakers imo but that's just my personal taste)...listening to it again, its so cute and if the song was given to VCHA, everybody would've been like "awww" or "they ate"
Ppl say they have no direction but I swear they're just singing songs that have good lyrics for their fans- ppl are just being picky.
There's a comment in a forum with 100-ish upvote that say Born to Be is too dark and doesn't suit Itzy while Itzy just have a cb few months ago with Cake and criticized for being too bright or teenagerish, how absurd it is man
for born to be, the member you noticed missing is lia. she is on hiatus.
that girl you’re referring to is lia, and she is on hiatus which is why she wasn’t in born to be comeback😔 get well soon lia, we miss and love you🩷🩷🩷
in my opinion the reason for the change in itzys public opinion is that (from what I’ve seen) a lot of their fandom is international so with songs such as cake or sneakers they (as in the company) try to appeal to them, but fail to see that many international fans became fans bc of their catchy beats and don’t look for English lyrics or references.
Everyone loves Yuna's part in Cake😊
Dude likes FUNZY more than CVNTZY and that's ok. As a cvntzy enthusiast 'born to be' is really good and it is giving, they're slaying. 'CHESHIRE' is the perfect example of being in between FUNZY & CVNTZY.
I tell you the hate train missed me coz i was what everytime 😂😂😂
if i remember right born to be is only a pre-release (i saw people say that so if im wrong sorry!) and after that the 4 girls solo mvs came out (lia didnt have one since blossom was released early or something and her hiatus) and after that the title track mv comes out with the album?
I also was not a huge born to be fan but the dance definitely carried like you said haha 😂 their more recent releases are so much better!!
even the dogs know boys like you is amazing❤❤
Haha frrr
ever since sneakers was released, everyone hates every itzy song
He didn’t even put Sneakers here 😭😭
He already heard it
sneakers and cake and boys like you are my literal favorite titles i love their fun/cute older itzy vibes and I'll never understand the hate.
Top-notch tracks !! Top-notch M/Vs !!! 🔥🔥🔥
Not you forgetting the queen of being hated on, 'sneakers' XD (for some context that song was immensely hated on bc the company presented the concept of the album as something badass and with stylish concept pics, and then the Title track was like 'put my sneakers on ^-^' and left everyone like °-°? )
but you're right, boys like you was too hated on, it's a bop!
born to be is a pre-revise single, not a main album song, so this mv wasn't as good as others
Tbf, the only reason why I find born to be bearable is the choreography, but the hate on the rest of their 2022-2023 discography was pulled out of thin air. But I feel exactly the same for Born To Be.
Boy like you is my guilty pleasure song😂
tbh, boys like you might be one of their worst title tracks . but that doesn't make it a bad song. is it a cliche Disney channel song? yes. but didnt we all like this before????
It’s not a title track, it’s an english single. People just want to be edgy and hate a disney bop tbh. I enjoyed Boys Like You.
A lot of kpop songs sound Disney though
some people just didn't like the changes in music. if you really compare those songs from their earlier songs, the difference is just obvious. its just a matter of music preference i think
Please react to ITZY'S solo's!
Haters just love hating on itzy like..my girls don't deserve it
I really enjoyed these songs
U should react to their solos u might like some!
The last part in born to be is why my producing teacher says that good mixing makes a bad song sound good and bad mixing makes a masterpiece of a song bad..
If you want to see them more badass watch loco , wannabe and not shy!! (great choreos as well)
1.Love this song, but yes unfortunatelly it wasn't their fanbase.
I like ITZY. I really appreciate them.
i came back to say that LIA IS BACK!!
OMG YAYYYY
I don't know if you thougth about it, but since you're a new midzy and you like Lia, you could do a video reacting to the girl's solos mvs and lia's solo lyric video too(it would be amazing for ppl to remember she has also one :') I completely adore her solo it's one of my fave solos from the girls, I could say it is my favorite), it's really soft and light, and her voice is just amazingly beautiful
I'm going to be totally honest, even if ITZY wasn't one of my favorite groups, there's really no song by them that I genuinely don't like or think that it's bad, wether it's not my fave or is, there's no song I genuinely dislike, sneakers definetely got me by surprise with the concept but I've never hopped in any hate train, cause I love how ITZY always tries unique styles and give their all to make something amazing and I'll never belittle that
Also, I like Born to be, I'll be honest, I also think there's A LOT of room for improvemente, and they could've blend the chorus better to the song, I don't like the lyrics in the chorus, they could've done a better work with that(not talking about the girls, but the producers). But also, not being a title track and also being a song to mostly focus in the choreography I actually enjoy listening to it after learninbg the choreo, and actually love watching them perform cause this song showcases their stage presence and control over the stage amazingly
Thanks for checking out ITZY
