- And after PvZ's 8-bit mix, I've decided to remix an actual track from the game. Now, I can't say this is my favorite, since, let's be honest, all of them seem to be my favorite; but it is certainly an amazing one.
▾ About this Remix ▾
"Graze the Roof" is the theme which plays during, you guessed it, the roof levels of the game. This is considered the last world/zone. The original theme is calm, but catchy, and, while it doesn't scream "roof", it fits.
With this remix, I did what I usually do: turned it into electro-jazz, by mixing the melody a bit, jazzing it up, adding some swing, and adding all the jazz instruments. This song is divided in four key parts, each one with a different melody and chord progression, though all of them go well together. My remix possesses a lot more parts, obviously, but the base four are there. I changed the base chords here and there to give it the jazzy feel, but, generally speaking, the base parts are unaltered, if we exclude the instruments. The hardest part to pull off was definitely the transitions between the original parts and the sections I added; making it sound fluent was certainly a challenge.
The instruments used are the 8-bit Synth, the Jazz Finger Guitar, the Electric Keyboard, the Acoustic Bass, the Alto Saxophone, the Acoustic Nylon Guitar and the Synth Strings.

Agreed. Actually this was the first game I ever played as a kid, I think I was 6 or 7 but I loved this game and was obsessed with it. Just last year I came back to it when I found it on Steam again and I re-bought which took me on a trip down memory lane. When I was playing it I never realized as a kid how amazing the music was and I started listening to it over and over again because it was super catchy. I played PVZ2 as well which also has good music but the first game definitely has the best music and im so glad you made this! I hope you make more remixes from this game's soundtrack in the future, maybe even some from the second game!

I've never been one for chip tunes or 8-bit remixes, but this one and your last are the exceptions to that. At least the beginning parts of this one. Graze the roof is an amazing song, and has always been a personal favorite, and once again you've done a great job in remixing it. As always keep up the great work, and thank you for the amazing remixes that you have given to us all so far.

Man, coming back to PvZ1 after playing a good chunk of PvZ2 is so weird, even Pogo Party feels easy by comparison. Still hella fun tho and this was probably my favorite theme in the game.
after beating a day in modern day of pvz2 a hard level of the roof feels fine and then i picked a lot of shrooms being used to the no coffee bean i took a bunch of useless plants
I think the difficulty of pvz 1 is perfect, if you're completely new it definitely stumps you a lot of times, but the main campaign is easily beatable for most people

seriously being an og player who have played the game since BETA release is awesome. Its basically my childhood . Its so nostalgic that i decided to play it all over again. This track in particular is one of the reasons i love roof levels so much. Love IT!

tip: put the potato mine close to the sunflowers at the lane the first zombie is walking on so you can have more time planting 2 columns of sunflowers and accumulating suns in the process then start planting your defense.
I take the squash instead, so that it will be usefull later also.

@@blocks4857 pvz 1 you just need 2 instant kill plants. PVZ2 most insta kill plants are either premium, have much more sun, very long cooldown. Plus every world has a gargantuar with different abilities. 1 even has 4x the health.
@@lucaschills7536 but in PvZ 2 you have stalling plants and with the 50 sun meta its easier to get good plants if you spam enough sunflower

My love for PvZ 1 is greater than anything else in this world, and finding something like this makes me tingle with happiness. ( no, I really couldn’t have worded that any differently.)
