Always such a joy to chat with my brother in bass, Tomi P! Tons of great topics covered in this one: The future of The Bass Gang and Shot-C, dealing with creative burnout, music as a career vs. hobby, upcoming projects, and many questions from the Patreon community. Please give a warm welcome my dear friend, Tomi P!
I wish I could have watched this premier live. Thank you for these interviews. Also, thank you, Tomi & TBG for what you do. I wonder if you realize the impact you have on your listening audience. I am probably one of the oldest fans, and I'm so glad my son played your works for me a few years ago. I've been hooked since.
The most accurate title ever. I will never forgive the world and TH-cam for not appreciating and pushing his stuff more. One of the first to introduce ingressive phonation into acapella arrangements, the most cinematic arranger in existence and of course now a CORE member of The Bass Gang. This man is my idol and will forever by my idol - I hope with all my heart that TBG takes it's place in the S-tier of acapella (as we deserve) and Tomi can come back to music full-time one day. Delightful episode, Pete 💘
Tomi, You solve the Rubik's cube?! My son is a "cuber" and solves multiple cubes. He has a best 3x3x3 solve of a little over 7 seconds (at home) and a little over 9 seconds (in WCA).
Tomi, I remember watching an early video of yours and was impressed then, but in the years since then you have continued to improve to the level of the unofficial but very accurate title peter has given you in the title of this interview. Keep on, keeping on, young fellow. Go Tomi Go! Also from one bass giraffe to another, if you have trouble finding attire locally, and you're willing to try online retailers, try American Tall, 2Tall, Long John And Sons, JustTall, and Navaslab, and maybe they'll have something you like. 🦒🤜🤛🦒 Regardless, stay safe and stay awesome. 🙃✌️ @TomiPVideos
From one bearded fellow to another, keep rocking the beard Peter. From one bass giraffe to another 🦒 🤜🤛🦒 Tomi. The sucess that you both along with Bobby and Marwan, have had with the bass gang is fantastic and it definitely is going to keep on soaring. Looking forward to it and to the future collaborations too. Keep up the bass-tastic awesomeness. 👍👍 Stay safe and stay awesome. 🙃✌️
I cannot even begin to describe how excited I am about the fourth EP from the Bass Gang. And having you guys talk about it, without revealing anything is just nerve-wracking. 😁😁 I know I should be patient, but I'm really not. 😂
Oh, this was so much fun to listen to! Really, I learnt about as much about Peter as Tomi. So, double win! Can't wait to all your songs this year. They'll be great!
Soooo... your collaborator is Eric Hollaway? He's just about the only one I know that can do an F#1 "raw" at any point, at least the only one who has a steady online presence. Great to see y'all chat, love that TBG has created such a great set of friendships!
Absolutely, as far as arangements, vocal range and agility, till then, I've never seen somebody do what Tomi does. There are couple arrangements that I'm absolutely crazy about, one is oldie, but a goddie Hellfire and little newer cover on Feeling good. These are so good I can't overcome how much of a genius man has to have in them to create such a beast of musicality.
Is that Tomi P?? FROM FORTNITE????? LMAO, but this guy inspired me to make my own A Cappella stuff and pursue music professionally and for that, along with him being one of the BEST A Cappella arrangers of all time, Tomi will always be top tier for me.
I doubt that to be fair. Not to say you're wrong. But Peter was specifying F#1 Subharmonic. And so far I know, Eric knows how to give a subharmonic sound. But if they had Eric as a collab. They would let him do it in chest.
@@vaclavskopal5143 Perhaps Geoff Castellucci. J.None, or even Antonio Fernandez. Since they have subs. And all an F♯1 sub. Some were accidental. Especially those from J.None, but he's gotten better with his lower range. But based on their "Bass Gang" style. I would say Geoff Castellucci.
I recall listening to Tomi's work years ago and constantly being confused how his views and sub count weren't equal to the likes of Peter Hollens and a lot of other acapella artists at the time. He's an incredibly hardworking lad with a lot of talent. I have no doubts that he will find even more noteriaty and success as he moves through his career.
if u dont knew this song/band plzzz made a react video and u get big subbs from me! song: Julika - Venom ♥ Music Genre: Electronicore + deathcore + Glam metal + 10 sec RAP + dubstep IN 1 FUCKING SONG! ALOT IS HAPPPEING *_*

I'm so happy you did this podcast, Tomi was a big inspiration for me before I got into making my own music :)))
SO pleased to hear Tomi like this! Thank you so much for this interview, Peter. I didn't know how much I needed this until I heard it.
Oh my gosh. I forgot I asked a question! Thanks for mentioning me and Norah. We had an amazing time!
Long Live The Bass Gang !!!
You guys, individually and all together, bring a ton of joy to my life. Keep doing all you do.
Many thanks!
Killin the beard, my man! 👌🔥
Your interviews are so awesome! It's like we accidentally logged into your private zoom calls!

Tomi’s cover of Amazing Grace is simply beautiful 💯
So happy I finally had the time to sit down and listen all the way through! Thanks to both of you for a great interview.

Soooo excited for this one ❤❤

Hey Peter. That singer i was talking about has posted a few songs. Ystefani Oliveira singing FAITHFULLY on TH-cam. It was posted February 19 2024.
How great to get to know Tomi better!!!Let's go!
One of, if not the best, covers of Hellfire out there. Geoff was my intro into the TH-cam bass world, and Tomi was the hook.
Loved this interview and getting to know Tomi better.
So been looking forward to this!
What a great interview! Thanks, guys!

Great to see y'all chat, love that TBG has created such a great set of friendships!
It’s gotta be him, Glenn miller or Elliot Robinson again
Love you guys! :)
My guess is they are talking about Eric Hollaway for their collaborator
Day 31 of asking for an interview with Marwan! We love you guys!
I think that's been recorded it just has to make its way through the queue

27:37 is this collaborator Glenn Miller by any chance?
Here we go again with vocal artistry.
Great vid! If you all want free real low brass stuff for anything Im more than happy to record for you
I bet Peter is talking about Eric for his collab, but hey, maybe I'm wrong 😏

That's a good point actually. Then who would say is this ungodly human he is talking about?
