what u saw there was the opening ceremonie of the Final match in the worldchampionship of league of legends. Riot was always know for having a sick live show befor the Final but to covid the Final was only streamed without live audience so they created al that to make up for it.
My money spent on Nami and Braum skins was worth it

This was all supposed to be in person and live in china in the biggest set seen to the game history, but sadly due to issues, they couldn't have it in china and moved it to Iceland and scrapped the stage performance

@@georgieegames This was mainly due to Covid issues and travel restrictions, It's the same thing this year for the Chinese Pro Players who can't attend in person at South Korea for MSI (Mid-Seasonal Invitational, Basically the winners of each region face each other) due to travel restrictions. But they will be playing in the tournament
Just to point it out too, PVRIS performance had Lyndsey singing "Burn it all down" inside the council chambers, which I thought was a rather poignant bit of foreshadowing in hindsight.
this one came out even befor the first season of arcane. so Riot hyped the players for arcane with all that stuff XD

You should watch the others opening ceremony, i think the first one is in 2012.
Or maybe see first the world music animation like warriors-2014, worlds collide-2015, ignite-2016, legends never die-2017, rise-2018, phoenix-2019, take over-2020, burnt it down-2021 (this song is next to enemy in the video you saw).
the first once sadly get claimed alot but after i think 2017-18 riot fixed that and they dont get claimed anyomore. 2018- 2021 are save 100% i think.

If you liked this you should watch the World's ceremonies from previous years (which are ACTUAL live performances this time). They are mindblowing. The most notable ones are:

I recommend you skip the 2020 ceremony since it was quite bad compared to the other ones (mostly due to COVID messing everything up). All the songs listed (and the songs you heard in this video) are all produced and written by Riot Games from scratch. They do not use existing music or have someone do the producing and writing for them (so much so that the community made a meme out of it calling Riot "a record label that occasionally makes games").
Tbh the only really ground breaking ceremony they did was the 2019 one. The others were just kinda meh

So if was real and animated. Pretty sure some of these shots were from the event in California they built the city of zaun and you could explore it. I wanted to go sooo badly.

Honestly 2018 and 19 were better than 2020 or 21's opening ceremonies. Def should go back to watch those since they are way better imo.
no they are not. especially 2019, that was the weakest I've seen by far. Anyways nothing beats live action Zaun. The others really don't compare imo.
