This video made me realize the essence of being a Filipino. It is indeed that the society we live in has an impact on our behavior and attitude. It just shows that our culture truly is a reflection of our mentality and values. I can definitely say that it’s good to be a Filipino, everything comes from the heart, the way we act towards others, the way we care and the way we think nice things. But, of course it is inevitable that there’s always a downside in every culture, but what matters is how we unite in our society.
Props to the editor of this video, its absolutely brilliant and I very much liked it as well as the documentary. They delivered it very well and I just wanna say that I am proud to be a Filipino!

Individuals are shaped and influenced by their environment, society, and even culture. These influences may appear to be either a bad or good thing. Filipino citizens are known to be kind and hospitable. But on the other hand, Filipino citizens are also known for “mañana habit (procrastination), ningas-kugon (enthusiasm that fizzles out quickly), and Filipino time (habitual tardiness),” which are on the negative side. The characteristics, traits or values that Filipino citizens possess are inherited from previous generations and are also constantly reinforced and passed down to people in the present and future through continuing evolution. Being influenced by the environment and society enables individuals to have a strong sense of empathy and compassion towards other people. Empowering our strengths and dissolving our weaknesses is a good point too.
I appreciate you making this wonderful video; it's really informative! It makes it easier for me to comprehend how Filipinos are impacted by our surroundings. Our current selves are mostly shaped by our culture. You can't dispute those characteristics, thus I can also relate to what's in the video. I am a Filipino as well, and I do inherit some of these traits. We, the Filipino people, know how to unite when someone is in need. That’s why one of the best attitudes that we have is being helpful to others or we are creating ways to help them coming from the goodness of one’s heart. What a job well done!

Te which province are you referring to us matapang. Kahit probinsya mga iyan ay magkakaiba pa rin sa values. Iba ang mga taga Luzon provinces sa Visayas. Especially if you go to Iloilo, Capiz, Guimaras,Negros they are sweet since they are Ilonggo.

Don't forget the ingrained culture of corruption and ignoring laws regularly when it suits one. Stuff that is "regular" in the Philippines would land jail time in western countries (breaking the law by helping corrupt friends for example).

Like other cultures we do have our racist streak. Blacks are usually our target. We find them funny. Usually the mouth, hair, skin. But we never go out of our way to insult them. Not in our culture to be out with our prejudices.

Very cute video, but what we see in the Philippines is very different. The hardest thing for white people in the Philippines is dealing with people and communicating. The messages behind the worlds are often hard to understand. I ask where is the SM mall is and we are invited in a brothel, buying some cialis or a wallet. When I first arrived in the Philippines I must to admit I did not have a very good impression of the people. Many look savage, chaotic and nonchalant. The more I started to understand them, the more I found them immortal. Especially the way parents treat their kids. Another thing we must say about the Filipino people is that they lie A LOT. It's impossible to rely on their words. They like to sugarcoat the reality or hiding important elements. They tend to bluff, cheat manipulate to get what they want.
