Wildland Progressive Hose Lay (2021)

The rapid deployment of wildland hose uses pre-assembled progressive hose packs. This technique allows you to flow water as you deploy the 1 ½” trunk line. The 1” lateral lines are pre-attached to gated wyes every 200’.

We advance the 1 1/2” hose lay while we have a 1” lateral at all times

Using 1-1/2” as your attack line will burn ur 500 gal ENGT3 tank quickly especially in lighter fuels. 1” attack line (off the gated wye) using the 1-1/2” as your supply line will conserve your water.
Would you still use 1-1/2” for ur hose lay if you had 300 ga from a ENGT6?
Really depends on the fuels in your IA area…

@@johnnyhorizon8368 I’m pretty sure that’s what he is saying. Where I’m at we pretty much only have type6s so would make sense to advance your 1 1/2 hoselay while using your 1” to knock down the fire
