As I think about this story, I'm reminded that following Jesus has ups and downs. Sometimes we obey in faith and witness miracles. And other times we foolishly act in fear or worry instead of trusting in God. But even so, Jesus is gracious to us. He may reprimand us, but he helps us and steadies us and empowers us to continue following him.
