Elias, you should try fishing the back eddies of the old bridge abutments. Most of the larger predators sit there waiting for the current to sweep food to them. You can hang in the back end of the eddie and not anchor with minium peddle effort. Make a few cast at the abutment then move to the next. It looks like you've been fishing the incoming, another advantage of fishing the eddies is if you hook a fish it's probably going to go with the current out to the wide open Gulf where you don't have to worry about painting any of the bridge supports with your kayak.
Diesel minnow would be fire down there especially with the snook. If you ever make your way north the Indian River lagoon with the kayak along the docks is snook heaven.
You ain't lying about the flounder issue bro. Now it's getting stupid with specks too, such a nightmare. It's why I go looking for togs in the winter, plus black drum aren't half bad in the cold too
It seems like for this kind of fishing that the autopilot would be better than the epdI cause you could hit spotlock instead of messing with an anchor. I currently have a bigwater 132 and was thinking about trying to get a spotlock setup on it, do you think its worth it since you have used both setups, or is it better to just go with an anchor setup?
Now now...I'm 69 years young, have 4 sit on kayaks, one is a pedal boat and am planning my yearly trip to Bahia Honda at the end of January... There's not much more exciting than hooking a 4 foot tarpon under the bridge while a 6 to 7 foot bull shark or hammerhead cruises by... the adrenaline alone will keep you young...😊🦈
You da man dawg. I love your Fla Keys content but think if you’re going to try to catch big Mangos on a full moon: you gotta be under that bridge at 5:30 not 10:30. Hard luck on that Tarpon, that would have tested your outfit.
Don’t understand the gulp shrimp concept. It’s a lifeless plastic…so really the action is getting you very little in the way of attracting fish. The stink is doing the majority of the lifting. So…why bother? You can use any number of plastics that have great action…and add scent…get the best of both attractors. Personally, with a soft plastic…if you gave me a choice of a dead scented plastic like gulp shrimp…or any unscented plastic with great action….i am never choosing the gulp. Just doesn’t add up for me…ymmv🎣🤙🏻🍻

Great video. I can’t wait to try this myself.
Hola. The current is very strong under that bridge. How do you manage to keep the kayak stable?
Diesel minnow would be fire down there especially with the snook. If you ever make your way north the Indian River lagoon with the kayak along the docks is snook heaven.
Love these long videos
Thanks. Like making them!
Well worth the watch.
My friend, I admire your videos and I am subscribed. Where can I buy this pedal set and what model is it?
Old Town ePDL - probably Ft. Lauderdale - Nautical Ventures
@@EliasVFishing Thank you for your quick response👏
Too funny, “maybe watch it while driving”… me: *listening while driving to Islamorada* lol
👍😎✌
Here we go. Took 3 days to watch the last 2.
Thank you Elias.
love The Keys footage !!!

Always fun!
I use gold kastmasters, 1/2 oz to 3/4 oz. It will catch almost everything in the keys.
Have you done any episodes in flamingo? If not you definitely need to make some time to check that area out 🤙🏼
Not yet - I should!
Are you using a a jig head or a Texas rig set up w bobber stopper it kinda looks like?
Jig head
@EliasVFishing 1/4 oz? 3/4 oz?
@ 3/16
What kind of line are you using? Is that blue mono or is it braid?
Sufix 832 advanced

Spot lock won’t grab under the bridge
What Fenwick HMG model is that?
Driving and watching haha
I feel as if the bite improved after you took the swivel off? 🤔
Maybe! I didn’t notice that.
I think kayaking is a young man's sport.

Yeah I get excited about 15” mangos 😂

Yo Elias ya gotta try throwing a Mirradine or some kinda mid level running plug brotha! Much more effective around the bridges than a Gulp shrimp.😎🤟
Next video I did it. Was interesting, but it caught too many jacks.
