On the other, knowing that it's the spirit of a brother protecting his sister from beyond the grave is depressing
Dude, i was getting teary eyed but i didnt get why, the ost sounds fire asf and the character looks very interesting.. After watching a couple more times i realised that i unconciously realised that the brother passed away, and thats why it felt sad (I never played the game so idk the lore) the character tells you that sad story without you having to know jack sht

Long story short, the real Bedman and his sister, Delilah, are basically reality warpers who had to be kept in a constant state of sleep because their bodies could not handle how fast their brains were moving. Unfortunately, Bedman died last game, but before he did, he weakened Delilah's power enough that, while still overwhelmed by her powers, she can now live a relatively normal life. Not only that, but Bedman's will still seems to be affecting his bed, causing it to fight for Delilah so that she doesn't need to risk using her powers (which, at one point, almost turned the world into a hellscape)

That car is basically just a model swap of a Virtua Fighter character. No different than those odd Smash mods that put inanimate objects over the characters models (ex/ a Gamecube over Kirby). Bedman is not only a sleeping kid on a bed in a fg, but one that has strong plot connections and lore
...I swear, the hardest part of watching these trailers is hearing the character's theme songs, instantly falling in love with it, and then having to wait until their launch to get the track for full listening. I went through this very badly with Baiken's theme, and now it's happening again with Bedman's theme. 😭

like, she's genuinlly happy! I think she knows on some level its her Big Bro looking out for her.
My idea its that she realizes whats happening, he lifts her up and she looks like scared of height, until she realizes that the reason bedman its lifting her up its because the two being always asleep could never see each other, and now he is lifting up his sister like a family member would do to a newborn, almost as a way to play with her, and as she realizes its the first time they "play" together, it warms her heart and she smiles

I just CANNOT wait to play Delilah's arcade mode. GGST Another Story is probably my favorite isolated story in the entire franchise. Watching Baiken and Delilah trying to teach each other life lessons by contradicting their own philosophies based on their self-consuming vengeance is some of the best writing in all of Guilty Gear and creates one of the best character dynamics I've seen in any video game. I love watching those two and I *need* more.

I really love that the bedframe is here to protect Delila while also looking like a horror game character. Gives me similiar vibe as big daddies from Bioshock and I am all for it. Can't wait to test how this character feels to play

It’s confirmed it is Bedman’s ghost possessing the bed acting as a guardian angel to his sister
It’s not actually his ghost! The website clarifies that the bed is acting off of a program that Bedman wrote moments before his death.

Fun guilty gear lore fact I guess: In the 2nd story mode, if I remember correctly, it’s revealed that some of Bedman’s conscious was left in the Bedframe that he uses which is why the Bedframe tries to protect Delilah so much and acts sentient, because it is. So I’m thinking the reason the characters name is “Bedman?” Is because technically the Bedframe is Bedman, in a way. Just thought I’d share for anyone interested lmao 🛏️

Ok, this is actually a brilliant reveal. Alot of people thought it was going to be the little sister taking over, but it is really the bed which we could say has seemingly gone berserk while acting as a protector to her. That and I just love that the character is just called "Bedman?" as if to say that not even the story knows what the hell to call it.
Can't wait to see the breakdown later this month (or early next month) and see just how crazy Bedman? can get.

i actually was insane to see it live. i legit thought only delilah was gonna fight using her magic, but as soon as the bed and the guitar dropped, i got instantly hyped

Oof, for one _brief_ moment at 0:50 you can see Delilah smile without fear or worry.
Even Bed seems happy in that moment even though it has no real face.
The song lyric "I'll come to you without a say or thought" gives me chills.
This is such a fantastic presentation of a character duo. BedSis just being there and not actually fighting is pure visual storytelling, and let's you know everything you need to about the characters the second you see them.
I was not really excited for Delilah OR the Bed. But this single twist on character presentation changed my mind immediately.
Such a creative way to implement story into gameplay.
As someone who hasn't played Xrd or Strive I can deny that and say that no, from just watching this I still have no idea why a mechanical bed is with a little girl and why is it referred to as "Bedman?"

@@Flackon The bed is her brothers; Bedman, who was in Xrd and died in said game. I’m guessing the character itself is called [Bedman?] because it’s being implied the bed itself has a mind of its own, probably her brothers
@@Flackon It's only a cool detail if you understand the lore. Bedman is the name of the character that used to use that bed and he was pretty much in a state of neverending sleep and the bed was kind of how he moved and fought people in the real world. Near the end of Xrd's story he died and his soul basically imprinted itself into the bed, and now in Strive's story it's shown that he's always trying to protect his sister as the Bed.

I swear, every character theme that starts with some form of semi-religious chanting turns out to be a banger. Like Potemkin and Baiken.
I like that the victory screen at 0:48 is wholesome for such a monstrous character

It looks like she's afraid it will hurt her next, then realizes that it meant to show her something. Bedman looking out for his little sister, but the bed itself fights like a demon.
i find it really jarring how different she looks with regular big anime eyes suddenly but it is cute

It's a real sign of the storytelling's power when I want to give so many cast members a hug and say things will be OK

I like the detail of how Delilah is holding on or cowering during many of Bedman? attacks. Creative.
It is creative, but that concept was done as early as Huitzil (Phobos) with Cecil in Darkstalkers. It's just that Cecil wasn't as front and center as Delilah in Strive

Probably one of the sickest looking characters Arc Systems has made in a long time. Those animations on the Bed monster are phenomenal.

The VA is so well done, so excited to hear this whole OST, and play him.
In my opinion, Faust and Bedman? got the best treatment for their redesigns out of all the characters in the cast. I love the disturbing theme they’re taking for these characters and I always had a soft spot for the “speechless guardian” trope so I’m definitely gonna play Bedman?

This is one of the coolest ways to "bring back" a character that I've ever seen.
Music is banger. Concept for character implementation is amazing. That singular shot of Delilah being happy at 0:49 makes me unfathomably happy. Asuka being confirmed.

I can't wait to hear the full theme because just this little bit we hear already sounds like it's going to be one of my favorite strive songs.
I love how reckless and furious Bedmans attacks are you can really see how he has changed, now nothing matters to him except protection Delilah.
His animations where impactfull before but there was thought behind them, they where precise and calculated. Now its just mindless brutal savagery... he has become some sort of mad specter, wich is imo a really good drection to take the charakter in.
Damn, I love his creepy eye! I got strong Emil vibes from the bed, especially when it shielded her. Decoupling Delilah and the bed really was a good idea, it allows ArcSys to flaunt both design whilst adding a lot of personality to the overall character. I've never been a Bedman player myself but I look forward to seeing them in motion.

I can't wait for this character(s) to go live. Not only for the game itself, but also because these theme goes absolutely wild and I want it in my playlist!
I am always amazed by the characters in this game and their unique weapons. This season pass has a girl with a yoyo, a guy with a flagpole, and a giant bed monster mech thing.
and hopefully, the next one would be a vampire who is very dapper.

@@LeFisheboi seems like Asuka has been teased in an event but I hope Slayer gets the final slot. Coping so hard that Slayer is the last guy and Asuka is put in as an unlockable after you get finished everyone's story mode. Maybe have it be best ending for higher difficulty considering who Asuka is

I have this weird theory that before Bedman died after the events of Guilty Gear 3rd, it seems he must had placed his soul inside his mechanical guardian bed. That would explain that big red eye, the black floating crown and the way the bed machine is protective to Deliah. This is enough proof that Bedman’s soul is inside his bed machine and his only desire is to protect his little sister
Dude, I don’t even mind having to wait for my favorite characters or Asuka. This is an outright METAL concept. Even death can’t…exactly stop that kid from protecting his sis.

The implication that it's Bedman's will controlling the bed is cool, but MAN I wish there was a way to incorporate his voice somehow. I loved all his lines in Xrd.

When I get this in my recommendation I was utterly confused "isn't he dead?" Then I watched the trailer and wow what a great way to keep a playable character without outright resurrection. Also this dynamic reminds me of Ferra/Thorr only if Ferra was completely non fighter.
One detail that I noticed while watching this trailer for the umpteenth time - in addition to being so worn-down and broken, the design of the bed's crown has changed. Before it resembled the crown used to represent the king playing piece in chess, but now it looks a lot more like the crown used for the queen piece instead. It could be symbolic, or it could just be a visual Easter egg.

My guess would be they changed it to a queenly design so it would match Delilah.
Could mean that the people saying she’s projecting her brothers will into the bed with her own powers, have some evidence to go with it now.
Might be a clue that it’s more her creation than her brother’s.
@@Nomans_Nomen The way I read it, the king is the most important piece on the board, while the queen is its strongest protector. The bed's crown changing to that of a queen represents it taking up the roll of a guardian for Delilah, the most important person in the world to Bedman.
So bedman is pretty much like celica and minerva from blazblue where minerva kinda carries and protects celica while fighting
though celica always stays glued to Minerva. Delilah here goes walking around randomly while other times she is carried by Bed. Who knows if there might be more to it.
I see it more like a mix between Celica and Minerva and Carl and Ada but that last part is for lore reasons where the young sibling is with a mechanical weapon that is most likely being possessed by the older sibling.
Definitely wasn't expecting this but I'll take it, the song sounds amazing too

I just noticed a little something about Bedman? here. The bed itself is effectively dreaming, it's not fully conscious. according to some of the information present on sites such as the official website and the wiki, at the end of each day their memories get reset like when you can't recall a dream you just had, they struggle to see things from other's perspectives and therefore cannot imagine a world beyond their dream as they are unaware of worlds beyond their current state, and they are incapable of complex communication and are unable to fully express themselves to others. The bed itself is now experiencing something very similar to a dream, which is a fun little connection to Bedman who was always in a dream himself, as well as it gives Delilah an interesting role. She in a sense has to take care of her own protector as they are not fully awake so to speak, so she has to be the one to guide them and look out for their wellbeing as they try to give their life to protect her

How convenient, I was just thinking about how Bedman would look and play in Strive. I wasn't expecting this, but I like it.
