Well there was an alternate ending to a game of it but Scott had no idea what was going on as all of a suddenly he and Knives were getting married, there was also Kim's ending where her and Knives walked away to the sunset, and there was Scott's ending where he starts a harem with Knives, Envy, and Kim.
I'm just gonna say it. I like both endings. I like that this one shows how Scott really cares for other people's feelings and wants to respect Ramona's desire for space, but I also like how the official ending shows Knives' care for Scott's feelings and desire to be with Ramona, so I dunno which I prefer.
I prefer the original one. Knives may be the "right girl", but Scott is not even close to be the "right guy". Scott and Ramona both have been hurt and hurt other people, so they can deal better with each other's baggage. Knives still has an entire life ahead.

Better ending because Knives and Scott had more in common. But in the other ending, we get the most honest line of the entire film: Knives telling Scott she's too cool for him, anyway.

I actually prefer this ending, as Scott says during his fight with Gideon "I'm fighting you for me" by the end the fight with the Exes it is more of a thing about self discovery for Scott than winning Ramona and I like the idea that although it didn't work out between Scott and Ramona they parted mutually and she finally has an Ex that isn't evil and she can still think of as a friend that saved her.
In my opinion, I like the original ending better. It gives Scott, Ramona, and Knives a better “moral” story arc. Scott and Ramona perfectly fit with each other because they are both bad people who have a known past about being bad to previous lovers, but instead of them once again running away from their problems and not admitting what they did was wrong, they decide to admit their previous wrong doings and get together to face against their past. It gives Knives a better story arc too because it shows that she cares so much for Scott, to the point where she’ll let him go with Ramona, if that’s what’ll make him happy. Just like Wallace said, Knives is too GOOD for Scott. Not as in being cooler, but as in being too much of a better person than Scott. Knives deserves a nicer guy. If Knives took Nega Scott's arm when she says "I'm too cool for you anyway" and walked in the opposite direction, then the normal ending would be better (yay, everyone's happy). But man, this alternate ending is really good.

I think this ending is just the more down to earth and realistic one. The original ending does work better for a classic story, with scott fighting for her love an all, but I also like this ending because it can't all just work like that. You might find yourself fighting for someone just for it to not work out in the end. Of course I'm sad about Knives not getting her character development, but the overall feeling of this seems just more real to me.

I like the alternate ending better. It show's Scott's come to terms with the fact that he's basically become the 8th evil ex (they're friendly) and rejected it (they're separate people). It shows as he doesn't become number 8 for Ramona and, instead, let's her go on her way, finally free of her controlling ex's, but also now lacking a lover (for now) because of her past failures. Meanwhile Scott's returned to Knives, whom is in harmony with him and they work together, becoming an honest boyfriend instead of someone who basically used her to get what he wanted (Ramona) before putting her aside. He comes to terms with what he was becoming, rejected it, and became an honest and loyal boyfriend instead of just another guy using people to get what he wanted.
I think this ending would have had more of an impact on its audience, thrown them for a loop, have Scott realize he was fighting for the wrong thing the entire time. As a fellow who's had practically everything handed to him, who's lived his life as it came at a slacker's pace, having to actually work for something helped him learn something about himself, including what he actually wants. It helps that Knives and Scott had a pretty good chemistry in the film.
Personally I like this ending. Knives did deserve better. She deserved better than the Scott she had, and at the end she had a Scott that was better than he started. He grew, she grew. The only one that didnt seem to be incredibly invested was Ramona. To me, Scott deserved better than Ramona was able to give, and Knives had it. Besides, how could you possibly pass up a smokin cute Asian girl with one of the most bad-ass names in female movie history? :)
So glad this wasn't the ending used. He loved Ramona throughout. Knives was never the girl for him. Despite being more emotionally complex she was worth everything he went through to him.
He didn’t love Ramona, he was infatuated with her. She was a fantasy. I think the door is actually a really good metaphor for this. In the theatrics ending, he walks through the door, choosing to avoid reality. In this ending, Ramona walks through alone, leaving him in reality with the girl he started with, and he now has a newfound maturity and appreciation for her. In the books it may be different, but in the movie, Scott and Knives had a real connection and a healthy relationship. I never got that sense from Scott and Ramona.

In the film though I definitely had the sense that Ramona was the one he wanted to be with with Knives being someone a bit young for him who he didn't treat so well and felt bad about but like they were meant to be friends. Maybe love is too strong a word but rather the one he had genuine feelings for romantically and he was willing to fight for. Just my opinion. I did find it interesting in a review saying how it felt in the movie his whole way of being didn't fully deserve her. I can see that point. Appreciate your thoughts.
I would have liked the movie more if Scott ended up with Knives instead of Ramona. Just because a girl is exciting and mysterious and all the guys want her, doesn't mean she's the right girl for you. Ramona would have run off on Scott eventually, Knives was the much better choice for a long-term relationship.
Yeah, but sometimes the long-term relationship is not what you want. Scott is still a total (the opposite of expert) about relationships. Also, let's not forget that he lives in a world where defeated guys explode in a fountain of coins
I think the best ending for this film would be for Scott not to get together with either of them. It would complete all three of there story arcs perfectly. Realizing they didn’t need to be together with someone to be happy they just needed to find themselves.
if Scott has learnt anything from his entire journey it's that he shouldn't be fighting for the girl. especially one that doesn't really like him back. he should've learnt to see by now who really was there for him all along. this ending makes much more sense in the movie. maybe the other fits the comics since Ramona actually shows affection/is interested/fights for Scott in the comics.
One thing I really wished they kept was them apologizing for coming off a certain way to each other, but I can see why that wouldn't fit in the used ending
I kind of think there should've also made a third ending, where ramona is walking away and Scotts looking back and forth between Romona and knives, then the countdown starts, and as its counting down to 1 the screen slowly fades to black, but then you hear the 1up sound.
I really like this ending. Probably because I don't like Ramona. In both the comic book and the movie, I think Ramona is really cold and mean to Scott even though Scott does a ton of stuff for her. Also, Scott defeats seven evil ex-boyfriends while Ramona fights only two girls! Except for those short fights that she didn't even win, she does nothing else for Scott!!
I agree, never seen the comics yet, but in the movie by fight two when she ditched him mid fight, I’m like ‘why isn’t scott calling her out’. If that were me I’d demand she help me with the next fight or it’s over, since they’re HER exes and in any case I’m literally putting my life at risk for her, the least she can do is help, unless she doesn’t care, but in that case she can go pound sand and I’ll find someone else who does care. While I do think Knives is better for Scott, I do think Ramona running away from her problems yet again makes the ending make the movie feel like a waste of her character development, as she never really changed. I like Scott and Knives ending up together, but I think it’s best Romona and Scott ended up together.
This is the right ending. It's been foreshadowing throughout the rest of the film, and the theatrical one feels empty by comparison- the the point the "continue?" overlay was shoehorned in to end the film. Knives matures in the movie, and Scott undergoes a typical hero's journey with this ending.
I wish’s Scott woulda added a “after all we’ve been through let’s have fun now” before his arcade proposal. Makes you feel like this wasn’t a huge detour but like everyone learned from these events
I like how that ending is a lot more fleshed out but given he declares his love for Ramona before this entire end started it doesn't make much sense. The ending preference really is dictated by how you connect to the relationship.

Idk if its just me the original ending was more cinematic and just overall a better fit to the story the movie was trying to sell, i cant believe that after literally dying and coming back he would let ramona just walk away, this may have more emotion but the first ending is overall a better pick and im glad they did it that way.

This is the definitive ending. The theatrical ending ends off with a somewhat imaginative ending while the deleted ending shows off the most realistic outcome of the two endings.
This movie should have a third ending, where nobody gets back together and they all go their own ways, so each character gets the kind of closure they need. I get why the original ending was chosen, to give Knives some character development, but I don't really like the idea of Scott and Ramona going back together when the movie made it quite apparent (at least to me) that they didn't work well together.
This ending is visually and stylistically better (walking off into the horizon with the flowers). Also it's slightly longer epilogue-type ending scene makes the whole movie more satisfying (That's just my personal opinion. It always bothers me when movies cut to credits too soon after everything has been resolved. I like a little bit of trailing action to give you at least a sense of what follows the conclusion - the DDR scene being a perfect example of this). However, for all the reasons people have laid out here in the comments, the official ending works better for character development and it sounds like it's more true to the source material (which is pretty important to not piss off the fans). So, damn idk, I think they should have at least had Scott and Ramona walking off into the horizon maybe? Or I also like people's idea of having Knives going with Nega Scott.
scott chasing after ramona was just a fantasy, like knives was far cuter and a far better match, she actually cared for him deeply. that said the whole misadventure of chasing ramona means scott is kind of a shitty person and doesn't deserve either of them, still, I think I would write this as canon I just would have directed and written it differently
Realistic and excellent. Although for it to really work well there would need to be a few more hints down the line that Scott was better suited to Knives, or even still held feelings for her, this ending kinda makes Scott seem fickle, just getting back with Knives as a lazy move rather than as an impassioned decision. Anyway I still buy it because the scenes with them at the arcade really show how great a team they are, whereas Ramona is kind of a spanner in the works for Scott and they never seem to have that ‘click’ moment. It always seemed to me like a surface level infatuation. Some people bang on about Knives being creepy, but she’s just young and dumb. So is Scott at heart. It works.

For the movie this was honestly the better of the two endings. You can see almost how in sync these two really are, and considering the ending sequence, both he and Ramona are ready to go their separate ways now that they’ve effectively conquered each others flaws. While I don’t mind the original ending and prefer it in the comics, this ending feels like it fits the movie narrative far better.
No it's not. This ending robs Knives of any and all character developments. "Remember High school kids haveing there first crush. If they break up with you. Be a creepy stalker have no self respect for yourself and you will win your first boyfriend back easily. Because remember there will be no other fish in the sea." By Knives telling Scott to go after Romona she learn to accept that the relation ship wont turn out and to embrace being herself for herself.

But for the comic, if that was how the novel ended not even I could forgive it.
i started crying because i can't even imagine how this would go down in the movie but scott fight all of remona's ex's and he ended up with knives all that hard work for nothing but i'm happy they stuck with the ending we know
That hard work wouldnt have been for nothing if this was the true ending. Scott grew as a person and learned he should fight for himself. Ramona is finally able to move on and forget her past as her exes are no longer a problem.
Fun fact, the second alternate ending for this movie revealed that Scott was a serial killer that killed seven people and dreamt up this entire movie but it was never recorded
This ending is the only one that makes sense for scott, who in their right fucking mind would choose Ramona over Knives. I think also this makes Ramona and Scott more developed and Mature by walking away from what is basically a toxic relationship.
How was Scott and Ramona toxic? Scott took advantage of Knives feelings by cheating on her and never really doing anything for her. He was always late and showed no interest in the relationship, whereas with Ramona they had a mutual love for each other. At least in the new ending Knives realises that she doesnt need scott to be happy and Ramona realises she doesnt need to keep running from everyone. Also choosing Ramona over Knives is a personal choice, and its clear throughout the film that scott would make that choice

He was infatuated with her, but there was no basis behind it, not like his relationship with Knives, where we see them actually hanging out and having things in common. The only thing is that Scott was too immature at the beginning to appreciate what he had, but the final act really shows his growth as a person, finally owning up to his mistakes and apologizing to Knives for hurting her. The way I see it, Ramona was a fantasy, while his relationship with Knives was real. In the theatrical ending, Scott chose to continue living the fantasy by walking through the door. In this ending, he chooses to stay in the real world and finally realizes that he had a great relationship all along.

I really like tis ending more than the original. It ismore realistic... and more like life. Maybe Pilgrim learnt a lot from Ramona and viceversa; that was their roles in each other life... but not for being together. They have to move on, and Knives was more mature then they at their age, maybe, so, she didn't really have to deal with Ramona's ghost.
there's an interview with Ellen Wong on youtube where she says she prefers the released ending over this one because it adds more growth to her character, and I tend to agree. although I must admit that I kind of like this ending too because, let's face it, more often then not we Scott Pilgrims 'don't' end up with our Ramonas. I'm kind of glad both endings exist.
In the movie, Scott barely has any chemistry with Ramona - they spend most of it fighting, literally and figuratively. It makes sense for him to end up with Knives, because the original idea was for him to end up with Knives, so I quite like this. That said, in the comics Knives moved past Scott in a very nice way and he and Ramona have plenty chemistry, so that works better there.
Honesty, both endings are great. The theatrical one has a nice resolution to the story, Scott and Ramona getting to work on theie issues with someone who understands and Knives accepting that Scott isn't for her, but this one is so emotional and sweet, scott movi g past his destructive behavior, Ramona finally having a good ex that she can rely one, and Knives getting what is essentially her happiest ending. Both are fully acceptable options.

The theatrical ending was better cause Ramona needed someone like Scott and Scott was truly in love with her despite her past. Knives was too young and was just experiencing her first crush, while Scott didn't feel too deeply for her.
I prefer the theatrical ending . Throughout the entire movie we are constantly shown how wrong Knives and Scott are for each other - he ignored her, she unhealthily attempted to fix things, it all just seemed unfair to Knives . She definitely deserves someone better and she becomes aware of that at the ending and accepts moving on . It’s a very important character arc for her that doesn’t develop in this alternate ending . Ramona and Scott have more experience and understanding when it comes to relationships, they are able to cope with the baggage’s they carry - meanwhile Knives acquires a second chance at meeting someone who will treat her the way she deserves .

Well they are only 5 years apart, which is nothing considering the many couples out there that are 10 to 20 plus years apart in age. As far as the law goes they only apply if they are having intimate relations. And if she's not 18 by this scene, she will be soon enough.
If you read the original graphic novels (which I highly recommend, they make watching the movie a second time so much more great, also not trying to be that guy who always says the book is way better), this ending is actually pretty angering. By the end of the novels I almost loved Ramona lmao and Scott goes through so much more to be with her. This ending is nice, and it's cool that they did it, but the original is true to the source material, and I think will make anyone who has read the graphic novels much happier. When I finished reading them I was slightly depressed purely because they were over.

The movie was filmed with the intent for this being the ending so that's why *this* ending was foreshadowed.

So glad this wasn't the ending used. He loved Ramona throughout. Knives was never the girl for him. Despite being more emotionally complex she was worth everything he went through to him.
He didn’t love Ramona, he was infatuated with her. She was a fantasy. I think the door is actually a really good metaphor for this. In the theatrics ending, he walks through the door, choosing to avoid reality. In this ending, Ramona walks through alone, leaving him in reality with the girl he started with, and he now has a newfound maturity and appreciation for her. In the books it may be different, but in the movie, Scott and Knives had a real connection and a healthy relationship. I never got that sense from Scott and Ramona.

In the film though I definitely had the sense that Ramona was the one he wanted to be with with Knives being someone a bit young for him who he didn't treat so well and felt bad about but like they were meant to be friends.
Maybe love is too strong a word but rather the one he had genuine feelings for romantically and he was willing to fight for. Just my opinion.
I did find it interesting in a review saying how it felt in the movie his whole way of being didn't fully deserve her. I can see that point.

I would have liked the movie more if Scott ended up with Knives instead of Ramona. Just because a girl is exciting and mysterious and all the guys want her, doesn't mean she's the right girl for you. Ramona would have run off on Scott eventually, Knives was the much better choice for a long-term relationship.
Yeah, but sometimes the long-term relationship is not what you want. Scott is still a total (the opposite of expert) about relationships.
Also, let's not forget that he lives in a world where defeated guys explode in a fountain of coins
I think the best ending for this film would be for Scott not to get together with either of them. It would complete all three of there story arcs perfectly. Realizing they didn’t need to be together with someone to be happy they just needed to find themselves.
if Scott has learnt anything from his entire journey it's that he shouldn't be fighting for the girl. especially one that doesn't really like him back. he should've learnt to see by now who really was there for him all along. this ending makes much more sense in the movie. maybe the other fits the comics since Ramona actually shows affection/is interested/fights for Scott in the comics.

One thing I really wished they kept was them apologizing for coming off a certain way to each other, but I can see why that wouldn't fit in the used ending
I kind of think there should've also made a third ending, where ramona is walking away and Scotts looking back and forth between Romona and knives, then the countdown starts, and as its counting down to 1 the screen slowly fades to black, but then you hear the 1up sound.
I really like this ending. Probably because I don't like Ramona. In both the comic book and the movie, I think Ramona is really cold and mean to Scott even though Scott does a ton of stuff for her. Also, Scott defeats seven evil ex-boyfriends while Ramona fights only two girls! Except for those short fights that she didn't even win, she does nothing else for Scott!!

I agree, never seen the comics yet, but in the movie by fight two when she ditched him mid fight, I’m like ‘why isn’t scott calling her out’. If that were me I’d demand she help me with the next fight or it’s over, since they’re HER exes and in any case I’m literally putting my life at risk for her, the least she can do is help, unless she doesn’t care, but in that case she can go pound sand and I’ll find someone else who does care.

While I do think Knives is better for Scott, I do think Ramona running away from her problems yet again makes the ending make the movie feel like a waste of her character development, as she never really changed. I like Scott and Knives ending up together, but I think it’s best Romona and Scott ended up together.

This is the right ending.
It's been foreshadowing throughout the rest of the film, and the theatrical one feels empty by comparison- the the point the "continue?" overlay was shoehorned in to end the film.
Knives matures in the movie, and Scott undergoes a typical hero's journey with this ending.
I wish’s Scott woulda added a “after all we’ve been through let’s have fun now” before his arcade proposal. Makes you feel like this wasn’t a huge detour but like everyone learned from these events

I like how that ending is a lot more fleshed out but given he declares his love for Ramona before this entire end started it doesn't make much sense. The ending preference really is dictated by how you connect to the relationship.
I like the original ending. it fits with the overall goofy and intentionally unrealistic style of the film while also serving as a satisfying conclusion to all three of the characters in its own right.

Idk if its just me the original ending was more cinematic and just overall a better fit to the story the movie was trying to sell, i cant believe that after literally dying and coming back he would let ramona just walk away, this may have more emotion but the first ending is overall a better pick and im glad they did it that way.

This is the definitive ending. The theatrical ending ends off with a somewhat imaginative ending while the deleted ending shows off the most realistic outcome of the two endings.
This movie should have a third ending, where nobody gets back together and they all go their own ways, so each character gets the kind of closure they need.
I get why the original ending was chosen, to give Knives some character development, but I don't really like the idea of Scott and Ramona going back together when the movie made it quite apparent (at least to me) that they didn't work well together.
This ending is visually and stylistically better (walking off into the horizon with the flowers). Also it's slightly longer epilogue-type ending scene makes the whole movie more satisfying (That's just my personal opinion. It always bothers me when movies cut to credits too soon after everything has been resolved. I like a little bit of trailing action to give you at least a sense of what follows the conclusion - the DDR scene being a perfect example of this).
However, for all the reasons people have laid out here in the comments, the official ending works better for character development and it sounds like it's more true to the source material (which is pretty important to not piss off the fans).
So, damn idk, I think they should have at least had Scott and Ramona walking off into the horizon maybe? Or I also like people's idea of having Knives going with Nega Scott.
scott chasing after ramona was just a fantasy, like knives was far cuter and a far better match, she actually cared for him deeply. that said the whole misadventure of chasing ramona means scott is kind of a shitty person and doesn't deserve either of them, still, I think I would write this as canon I just would have directed and written it differently
Realistic and excellent. Although for it to really work well there would need to be a few more hints down the line that Scott was better suited to Knives, or even still held feelings for her, this ending kinda makes Scott seem fickle, just getting back with Knives as a lazy move rather than as an impassioned decision. Anyway I still buy it because the scenes with them at the arcade really show how great a team they are, whereas Ramona is kind of a spanner in the works for Scott and they never seem to have that ‘click’ moment. It always seemed to me like a surface level infatuation.
Some people bang on about Knives being creepy, but she’s just young and dumb. So is Scott at heart. It works.

For the movie this was honestly the better of the two endings. You can see almost how in sync these two really are, and considering the ending sequence, both he and Ramona are ready to go their separate ways now that they’ve effectively conquered each others flaws. While I don’t mind the original ending and prefer it in the comics, this ending feels like it fits the movie narrative far better.
No it's not. This ending robs Knives of any and all character developments. "Remember High school kids haveing there first crush. If they break up with you. Be a creepy stalker have no self respect for yourself and you will win your first boyfriend back easily. Because remember there will be no other fish in the sea."
By Knives telling Scott to go after Romona she learn to accept that the relation ship wont turn out and to embrace being herself for herself.
@@Breonnick you missed the part where she only reacts the way she does because of what Scott does. It’s why he apologizes to her in the final battle when she attacks Ramona. Plus, who gets hit and starts the battle between Scott and Todd? Who does Scott pair with to take down Gideon? Again for the movie because it can’t go into detail my opinion still stands. But for the comic, if that was how the novel ended not even I could forgive it.

i started crying because i can't even imagine how this would go down in the movie but scott fight all of remona's ex's and he ended up with knives all that hard work for nothing but i'm happy they stuck with the ending we know
That hard work wouldnt have been for nothing if this was the true ending. Scott grew as a person and learned he should fight for himself. Ramona is finally able to move on and forget her past as her exes are no longer a problem.

This ending is the only one that makes sense for scott, who in their right fucking mind would choose Ramona over Knives.
I think also this makes Ramona and Scott more developed and Mature by walking away from what is basically a toxic relationship.
How was Scott and Ramona toxic? Scott took advantage of Knives feelings by cheating on her and never really doing anything for her. He was always late and showed no interest in the relationship, whereas with Ramona they had a mutual love for each other.
At least in the new ending Knives realises that she doesnt need scott to be happy and Ramona realises she doesnt need to keep running from everyone.
Also choosing Ramona over Knives is a personal choice, and its clear throughout the film that scott would make that choice

He was infatuated with her, but there was no basis behind it, not like his relationship with Knives, where we see them actually hanging out and having things in common. The only thing is that Scott was too immature at the beginning to appreciate what he had, but the final act really shows his growth as a person, finally owning up to his mistakes and apologizing to Knives for hurting her. The way I see it, Ramona was a fantasy, while his relationship with Knives was real. In the theatrical ending, Scott chose to continue living the fantasy by walking through the door. In this ending, he chooses to stay in the real world and finally realizes that he had a great relationship all along.

it's not the same. the other one I felt was about just as emotional as this one, but the original one is emotional in a good "Happy it all worked out and they can run away and live a life together" way and this one just makes me feel bad for Ramona and she has nobody but in the original one, Scott left with her and it has closure and happiness and knives took it ok and wasn't sad. to shorten it up, I liked the original one better and I am SO glad they chose that one

I really like tis ending more than the original. It ismore realistic... and more like life. Maybe Pilgrim learnt a lot from Ramona and viceversa; that was their roles in each other life... but not for being together. They have to move on, and Knives was more mature then they at their age, maybe, so, she didn't really have to deal with Ramona's ghost.
I think I like this one a lil more just because it would've been less predictable and it is quite cute
there's an interview with Ellen Wong on youtube where she says she prefers the released ending over this one because it adds more growth to her character, and I tend to agree. although I must admit that I kind of like this ending too because, let's face it, more often then not we Scott Pilgrims 'don't' end up with our Ramonas. I'm kind of glad both endings exist.
In the movie, Scott barely has any chemistry with Ramona - they spend most of it fighting, literally and figuratively. It makes sense for him to end up with Knives, because the original idea was for him to end up with Knives, so I quite like this. That said, in the comics Knives moved past Scott in a very nice way and he and Ramona have plenty chemistry, so that works better there.
Honesty, both endings are great. The theatrical one has a nice resolution to the story, Scott and Ramona getting to work on theie issues with someone who understands and Knives accepting that Scott isn't for her, but this one is so emotional and sweet, scott movi g past his destructive behavior, Ramona finally having a good ex that she can rely one, and Knives getting what is essentially her happiest ending. Both are fully acceptable options.

The theatrical ending was better cause Ramona needed someone like Scott and Scott was truly in love with her despite her past. Knives was too young and was just experiencing her first crush, while Scott didn't feel too deeply for her.

I don't think it is. Everybody I know who has seen it loves it.
I prefer the theatrical ending . Throughout the entire movie we are constantly shown how wrong Knives and Scott are for each other - he ignored her, she unhealthily attempted to fix things, it all just seemed unfair to Knives . She definitely deserves someone better and she becomes aware of that at the ending and accepts moving on . It’s a very important character arc for her that doesn’t develop in this alternate ending . Ramona and Scott have more experience and understanding when it comes to relationships, they are able to cope with the baggage’s they carry - meanwhile Knives acquires a second chance at meeting someone who will treat her the way she deserves .
You are kind of right, Scott was really a tool at first BUT after this rebirth, seeing Knives coming to his aid and was injured because of that, Scott at that exact point knew how he much he loves Knives. It was Scott rebirth in being a true hero and that he and Knives are meant for each other,

Well they are only 5 years apart, which is nothing considering the many couples out there that are 10 to 20 plus years apart in age. As far as the law goes they only apply if they are having intimate relations. And if she's not 18 by this scene, she will be soon enough.

If you read the original graphic novels (which I highly recommend, they make watching the movie a second time so much more great, also not trying to be that guy who always says the book is way better), this ending is actually pretty angering. By the end of the novels I almost loved Ramona lmao and Scott goes through so much more to be with her. This ending is nice, and it's cool that they did it, but the original is true to the source material, and I think will make anyone who has read the graphic novels much happier. When I finished reading them I was slightly depressed purely because they were over.
