@@SciolismHD “Highland” was the internal codename used by Tesla employees when discussing the new 2024 Model 3 - the Highland can be used to describe both the standard and long range 2024 Model 3’s :)
@anna-fk8ql I have! It handled great, interior was very nice and the speed/acceleration was amazing. Coming from only driving ICE vehicles it hardly felt like I was driving
Insane right?!?!? Cheaper than a model 3 with the tax credits applied on sale instead of waiting to file it on your taxes. How did you get the 5k discount on inventory i dont see that for me?
I just bought Tesla model Y LR (still 2023 new )on Jan 13th. plus get $7,500 tax credit. but I heard that coming soon refresh Model Y "juniper". my Y LR can sell it then buy new one.
As soon as Highland performance is available to order in Phoenix I'm buying it!! Super excited🎉🎉 Stealth Grey black interior. My first EV. I love the minimalism, tech , stalkless design -- it's futuristic.
@anna-fk8ql I have my model 3 now and I have tested it for a while now. A few points to adres here about the enhanced autopilot: 1. Auto park, summon and smart summon are indeed unavailable at this time. But I hope that they will allow it very soon. 2. Auto lane change works good, unless with really dense traffic, then the AP is a bit to conservative to change lanes. 3. Navigate on AP works quite well, guiding me to the correct lanes with the exception that, this is in Europe btw, it doesn’t seem to recognize closed lanes. (We have lanes that are only available during rush hours, marked closed with a big red cross above the lanes or open with a green arrow). 4. I’ve had a few phantom breaks but it is quite rare to have them. Most of the time the AP does a great job. 5. Last point is a strange one: when I engage AP I can set the speed below or at the current speed limit but not above it. However when navigate on AP is available (only on highways) I can set the speed above the speedlimit, even when I am not on a highway.
Thanks for the video Chris! I ordered my model 3 highland RWD ~3 hrs after the launch on TH-cam. What sources cite the 17 speakers inclusion? I’d be super excited to have that despite getting RWD!
Hey, Chris. I see in this video that you've got a long extension cord for use with the mobile charger. Does that extension cord need to have certain specs -- amperage or something? Thanks. I've been watching a ton of Tesla videos and yours are the best.
haha yeah! I forgot the exact name.. Watch my 0% tesla died video it has all the info there. Just make sure to lower the amps on the screen too to be safe as extension cords can be risky but safe if used properly!
why would anyone want self driving capability? it's the worst feature of the car and something people should never rely on. i personally LIKE driving my car
FSD has been enjoyable for me. I do think it should be cheaper right now though. If they’re going to switch to a camera only setup and AI then at the time that’s established and there’s a clear timeline for achieving different levels of autonomy they should increase the price again. But all these different hardware phases, locking features, disabling people’s FSD altogether there’s no way this software should cost $12k right now.
FSD is a great feature and is crazy impressive that the system can drive itself. Of course it’s not perfect but 9/10 times I can rely on it to do most of my driving/commute. Personally I use it nearly every time I drive. I love the feature. Even if you don’t like you cannot deny it is impressive and is far from the “worst” feature. To me sounds like you’re just kinda hating on it rather than from personal experience.
Why would anyone share THEIR opinion? It’s the worst feature about a person and you can never trust anyone who shares their opinion. I actually LIKE people who only believe in what I have to say.
With pretty much ever auto maker switching to the NACS connector, does it really make sense to buy the Universal Wall Connector right now? Seems like a waste money when by the time you're ready to get rid of a Tesla and perhaps go with another brand, that new car would likely work with the normal wall connector. Seems like the only difference between the 2 chargers is the one including the J1772 and having Powershare which is only available on the Cybertruck so useless right now for the other models
@anna-fk8qlI haven't. I also noticed Tesla charge a $1390 destination fee and a $250 order fee. There is no way to avoid these two fees so Tesla should might as well add them to the total price, but they don't advertise this on the website. With the $7500 tax incentive applied after-tax, in the end you're not really saving much. I just can't pull the trigger.
I got a model 3 right before the refresh in October. I really like the new one but I am enjoying the one I have. The major thing I wish I had was the inside lighting for my model 3. I tried seeing if I could pay for them to install it on mine and it seems like they dont do it. I hope they add options to do that in the future since doing it myself seems risky.
Should I get the model 3 long range or wait for the performance version? Idk how long Tesla is going to take to release it, but I need a new car 🤣 don’t wanna wait past summer
Amazing video. Keep it coming. Still enjoying my tesla and thank you for all your videos. It really helped me decide to get one, get to know the things i need to remember and expect. Thanks again.
For those who don't have the finances to get a new model in 2024, the Tesla used market is getting really good, so stay updated. Everyone is benefitting from the new EV market. You can get a great used Tesla now for around 30k even with more than well over 300 miles of range.
As much as I wanna put the order in for the model 3 highland, I just don’t wanna risk being the first buyer of a refresh model. It does seem to have much better build quality tho 👀 I still have a couple years of warranty left on my 2018 model s so I’ll probably wait a year or so before pulling the trigger
@@EverydayChris you’re right 😊 I guess what I was trying to say was a bit more real world feedback from different parts of the world is what I’m looking for. I’m up north in canada so I wanna see how it does in severe cold winter with tons of snow as well (-20~30 deg C here)
I think the Model 3 highland is just a refresh sort of like the 2023-2024 BMW x5 but I could be wrong. The interior and exterior are slightly changed but its still on the same platform and still maintains a lot of the same components. Also when you get the model s or x all the paint colors are included for free.
The refresh has more than 50% different parts, making it definitively more new than not. You could say same platform because same batteries and motor, but even those have had parts changes.
Buying a tesla is not the same! Trying to buy an inventory tesla from Michigan. Since state law or tesla policy says I can buy only from Ohio or Illinois. Looking at other states (specifically MO) I can buy a model Y 3500usd cheaper then in Illinois or Ohio. This car was new from Knsas City MO. It was blue with white interior and had a trailer hitch. That's 3k more in upgrades for 40888usd. The stick 2 wheel drive from Illinois is 43k without the 3k accessories! Basically 7k cheaper a state over. So Tesla pricing is far from consistent. And predatory state laws also come into play. Not very encouraging and in fact frustrating from a potential buyer. Why should I be expected to pay 7k more for a product just because I live in a particular state! Forgive the rant here but this supposed to be the UNITED STATES not every state is different
