Hi Eric, I am a bit confused now😅 I just watched an older video on your channel in which you were recommending not to use content ID, but looks like something has changed about Motion Array. I would like to try this market starting from Motion Array and Artlist, but I seem to understand that Artlist doesn't accept artists who submit songs with content ID. So what would you suggest in my case? Thanks for the info you provide anyway!

I uploaded a song to them to try it out and that I already opted in to CD Baby's social monetization with, so they rejected the track since it's already in Content ID. Is there a way to cancel CD Baby's monetization on a track and then would Identifyy even take it? Or would you recommend only using Idenitfyy with tracks moving forward, since my catalog so far is "opted in" to TH-cam and Facebook monetization via CD Baby.

To this I will add that I had submitted 5 songs that have at least 200 views each on my YT Artist Channel, and I had more. For your information, CDBaby would commit to the same percentages, 70-30, as for my latest information about it. Thank you once again! ❤
Hi there and thank you! How do I fill out the metadata for the tracks there especially since I am not associated with a lable and compose only for stocks?

Great video! I just have one question, off topic i guess, but I’m curious to know if there are any platforms like Identifyy for streaming platforms like spotify, apple music! Someone is using my beats without licenses. How do i stop them on spotify, etc! Any clue will be super helpful and I’m looking for a service that’s free like Identifyy
That’s a good question. I don’t know a service that does this, BUT Identifyy should catch it if it’s on TH-cam Music and if it is and you see it you can compare that to Spotify.
Hey I have a distributer that offers content ID but alot of times I don't get content ID. Can I still sign up with Identify as i feel my distrubutor not assisting me with this?
Yes. I unenrolled out of CDBaby’s program a few years ago when I joined Identifyy. I don’t think distributors make you sign deals for years. but know Identifyy is a 3 year deal.
hi, it's totally something that i want to do. do i have to add just the main tracks or the version/edit/mastered too? and I have my music on spotify/youtube but on various stock platforms too (pond5, audiojungle ecc.) the name of the tracks are different (ex. name of the track on spotify: storm name of the track on pond5: dramatic nostalgic music) which name do I have to put? Is this of the different name a problem for this site?
I only put the main tracks up but know others put all versions. Remember it's listening to find the use, so maybe all versions may be the smartest. I don't think the name would be an issue, but it may not hurt to add that information to the entry on Identifyy.
Hello Eric ! I have a doubt what's really the difference between Identifyy' Content ID registration system and CD baby' content ID registration system. I have my song registered with CD baby they have content ID but I don't see any income from youtube content ID even though I have seen my song get 50k-100k views on youtube , I've been asked from people to use my music as outro in TH-cam only. But I hardly see any revenue from content ID using CD baby. What's the catch ??
Yeah dude, I STRONGLY recommend NOT using your distributor for Content ID and having a company like Identifyy that is FOCUSED on only on Content ID collect it. I never saw anything from CDBaby or DistriKid from Content ID, but this and last year with Identifyy is over $1000 in income from Content ID.
thank you eric. I am producer and I release my music on pond5 and audiojungle. do I need to release my music with a digital distributor to get a content id or can i just upload music files on identifyy to get content id?
hey eric, great video as always!!! i have a question tho, imagine i distribute a song with cdbaby, distrokid or onerpm, should i put content id from identifyy on them, with the same IRSC from the digital platforms after or before the release? and what about beats, should i put them on identifyy before or after i upload them? other question, i dropped a few songs with onerpm a few months ago, should i put identifyy on them too? thank you for ur time and keep up with the good work, loved ur album!!!
As long as you don’t use the COntent ID from the distributor you can put them on Identifyy. Beats may be more tricky since if anyone uses them they will get a copyright claim. If you are good with that them go ahead. You can always clear them easily. Sorry don’t know anything about ONErpm. First I’m hearing about them.
@@MakeMusicIncome thank you for the explanation! one more question, would you recommend me to put the song on identifyy before or after i put them on youtube?
@@MakeMusicIncome hello eric thank you so much fr, and i ask for forgiveness in advance, but i have another question, if i sell a beat with identifyy content id on it, and the person uses it on a music they will get a copyright claim and identifyy tag appear on the bio right? if yes can i control what identifyy put claims on it? like choose which videos that use my music will get a copyright claim and which ones wont, or would i need to clear them by asking identifyy team on email? thank you on advance
Great video! Thanks for this info! I recently opted in for TH-cam content ID on DistroKid and am a bit worried about how that might limit my sync opportunities. Would I still be able to pitch my song to Artlist or Motion Array if I have opted in for this? Thank you!
I have not opted in for CID on any DK tracks on purpose. I don’t like those little yearly costs that pop up, and feel that DK just can’t be following up the CID stuff with as much vigor as a dedicated place. Plus, yeah, any CID will limit what exclusive libraries will except.
Hi Eric, big fan and ambient/meditative music ghost producer. I'm excited to enter the music libraries/licensing world and I would appreciate guidance on the right steps involved. I'm planning exclusive and non-exclusive catalogs (Music Vine pending, and accounts set up on Pond5, 100Audio, and others), pre-upload registration with Songtrust and Identifyy (excluding conflicting aspects of their services). Do you have any other advice before I upload my music?

@@MakeMusicIncome Hi Eric I didn't receive any notification that you replied. Let me check now. I started uploading my music to identifyy a month ago, watched your video 4 months ago and also Daniels and Stevie's videos. Yesterday I stumbled upon a trustpilot reviews on identifyy and I was shocked to find out that over 30 people have terrible experience with identifyy banning their monetized accounts just before they can withdraw the funds etc. I do not have any negative experience so far but I would love to hear more on this from you or other people.
I just got some major (distro ) owned by UMG but they don't offer content ID unless i have the 4000 hours watchtime , it is identify a good option ? anyone can comment on this?
I suggest only using identifyy. I just don't believe that distributors can collect for you, well, well, distributing and doing all the other things they do.

The part I don't understand is how people find your music other than through the libraries you submit to? If they find it on Pond5 then they already paid a license right? And then, as you explain, getting notified by TH-cam that a song that is properly licensed is flagged by ContentID requires an extra step to use. So how else can people get their hands on your music? Do you also put out everything you do on TH-cam? Is it all commercially released and can be found on Spotify, downloaded, then used without you being aware of it or paid for it?
OK, that’s a lot of questions. They pay a license to use it, and then IF they get a claim, they can clear it through Pond5. Some people will not care about a copyright claim if they are not monetizing because it means nothing other than they can’t monetize the video. I would imagine half or more people who use Pond5 music aren’t or aren’t able to monetize. BUT YT may still run ads and we as the copyright holder of the music will get part of that revenue. People also could download a song off TH-cam and use it in their video without caring how they did it or if they get a claim. Yes to your last question.
Hello, I have a travel TH-cam channel, and I use montion array to search for music, how can I identify which music to use so that they don't take away my monetization and give it to the music creator?
Hi my name is Aviv. Am very new to this and am very grateful for your videos and all the free downloads you have. 🙏🏾. I would love to know from you if identify and songtrust are the same.. I’ve already signed up with song trust and just found out about identify after watching this video. Can I be on both platforms? Would really appreciate your feedback
Not the same at all. Identifyy collects Content ID revenue from TH-cam, Facebook and Instagram. That is all it does. Songtrust is a global publishing administrator that monitors your work globally, with direct relationships with 65 collection societies and pay sources covering 215 countries and territories. We handle registering your songs worldwide so you don't leave any royalty earnings uncollected and have more time to focus on making music.
Hi Chris, I have over 150 non exclusive titles in Pond5, Audiosparx, Adobe Stock etc. They don't generate anything significant but what's to stop the stock libraries putting them into content ID themselves ? Won't this cause a conflict?

As im going to be uploading beats 3 to 5 times a week .... So i want to know about identifyy upload time
I’m getting ready to do some contact about beat making. You can put something on identifyy almost immediately. And it’s free but they take 30%. That being said I made almost $200 for May.
You don’t need a record label to upload to Identifyy but you DO need music already on stock libraries that they think might be used on TH-cam which is primarily where they collect from.
Great video Eric and glad that you and Stevie B made your move into CID. Wanted to add/ask something that I noticed on my last pro statement. From one point and on, when I registered tracks to identifyy, I started adding in the info of each track the registration number from my pro just in case. I check on some of the claimed videos and on the info of the composer my pro is there too. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but I've started getting royalties from TH-cam via my pro. Not much, but still money. Do you know if they connect in someway? Some of the tracks are distributed from distrokid too, but not all of them and all are on RF libraries. Haven't asked identifyy but since you search those things you may get better info. Cheers
Hello i have a question that what if a person used my music and it got much views and earnings but his channel gets demonitized then so will i get my earnings or nor and another question that in how much time the videos views and earnings update in identity Thanks
If his channel gets demonetized, the TH-cam will likely still run ads on it. if they do, then you should get earnings. I don't think anyone knows the exact math though.
Thanks for this nice tour of ContentID! Interesting to see that videos with more views can sometimes make waaay less. And ... I am discovering that hey, you know how to sing, Player A :) Nice smooooth jazz here!
@@MakeMusicIncome A quick follow up Eric if I could. How do you resolve the conflict between Pond5 and the content id company you sign with? Pond5 have suggested that you ask the content id company not to pursue tracks that are the subject of Pond5 licences. Can this work in practice and did you have to get this type of agreement?
It's in number 6, letter d: "You may not take any action on or with respect to TH-cam, Vimeo (or other networks that allow for the so-called "claiming" or "monetization of content") that would interfere with the ability of Content Users to monetize or collect revenue from any such network with respect to their works." To avoid any claims towards our buyers’ projects, we ask that you please reach out to the company you have registered songs with to trust/allow list any track that is uploaded to Pond5 when and if claims are made. That way our buyers can purchase your work from our marketplace without any copyright claims affecting their projects.

@@MakeMusicIncome awesome thanks
I have Distrokid can i sign up to this as well.
Absolutely as long as you didn't signup for DistroKid content id.
hi, it's totally something that i want to do. do i have to add just the main tracks or the version/edit/mastered too? and I have my music on spotify/youtube but on various stock platforms too (pond5, audiojungle ecc.) the name of the tracks are different (ex. name of the track on spotify: storm name of the track on pond5: dramatic nostalgic music) which name do I have to put? Is this of the different name a problem for this site?
I only put the main tracks up but know others put all versions. Remember it's listening to find the use, so maybe all versions may be the smartest. I don't think the name would be an issue, but it may not hurt to add that information to the entry on Identifyy.
@@MakeMusicIncome thank you so much for the reply!!
I suggest Identifyy. I think they are going to collect better for you than a digital distributor.
could i allow my music and add to whitelist any channels that using my song in their videos?
hey eric, great video as always!!!
i have a question tho, imagine i distribute a song with cdbaby, distrokid or onerpm, should i put content id from identifyy on them, with the same IRSC from the digital platforms after or before the release?
and what about beats, should i put them on identifyy before or after i upload them?
other question, i dropped a few songs with onerpm a few months ago, should i put identifyy on them too?
thank you for ur time and keep up with the good work, loved ur album!!!
They should be on there before you put them on TH-cam.
But remember the real use of identifyy is not for what YOU put on TH-cam but what other people use from your music on TH-cam.
@@MakeMusicIncome Gotcha! Thanks for the info! I also picked up your stock market ebook. Great stuff! Looking forward to checking it out in-depth!
Thank you so much!
I have a lot! Do you have The Stock Market Course yet? It’s got my best advice and all the info you’d need including what the libraries look like on the inside. Email me for a 25% off coupon at makemusicincome@gmail.com if you like.
@@MakeMusicIncome Hi Eric, I didn't receive a notification about your reply. Let me take a look.
The 4000 watch hours is usually to get monetized by TH-cam.
Should people do yt content ID as well as Identifyy or no? I'm soo confused about CID?
I suggest only using identifyy. I just don't believe that distributors can collect for you, well, well, distributing and doing all the other things they do.
@@MakeMusicIncome thank you.
Can I do this for my TH-cam Beats?
Content ID is a little tricky with beats. See videos by @djpain1 like this one: th-cam.com/video/jIrkUsUiGwo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bDFeqaDvsToEiRgm
@@MakeMusicIncome thank you!!
How do you whitelist a channel on this platform? I also want to not claim videos that have properly credited me. Is this possible with this platform?
Go the settings in Identifyy to whitelist. I don't know about the other.
Hey Eric, do you enter a CAE/IPI code to your tracks?
I don’t but could. But I wonder why I would. They are collecting Content ID backend, not PRO. Not sure they are linked together in any way.
help how to get tin number please from identifyy
Tin?
@@MakeMusicIncome YES PLEASE....
@@urbangeejuniorIN (Tax Identification Number)
Some country have the tax ID which can be used as TIN. Check your local tax government. Typically in that case on US, you can request new TIN from IRS.
what if your music is already "out there" by a distributor?
No problem unless you assigned the Content ID to the distributor. If you did then you hired the distributor to chase your content ID.
will the users get a copyright strike if they use my music?
Only a copyright claim, which most won’t care about if they aren’t monetized.
Does anybody have a list of libraries that allow composers to use content id?
There’s really only two that say they don’t like it: AudiSparx and Motion Elements Subscription. Also I believe songs you sign with Artlist should not be in Content ID. See my book The Stock Market for the full list and what I know. makemusicincome.com/stockmarket/
@@MakeMusicIncome thanks a lot for the extensive answer!
How could be get the content id?
I’m sorry what is the question?
Hello, I have a travel TH-cam channel, and I use montion array to search for music, how can I identify which music to use so that they don't take away my monetization and give it to the music creator?
You can do a search of songs that don't use content ID.
Check with Songtrust about this, but I don’t see any reason you couldn’t be with both.
I want to submit my audio from my motivational videos not music, I wonder has they changed that yet
I’m not sure I understand. Do you mean submit Audio from TH-cam videos you have up?
Hi Chris, I have over 150 non exclusive titles in Pond5, Audiosparx, Adobe Stock etc. They don't generate anything significant but what's to stop the stock libraries putting them into content ID themselves ? Won't this cause a conflict?
Only the master owner can put them in a Content ID service.
Idendify offers services only for music with content ID?
Yes. I believe that is all they do. Which is why I love them. Focused on CID collection only!
Can I whitelist my channel so I can collect revenue through YPP instead of identifyy?
Yes.
can you please tell me some alternatives of identifyy
Adrev, Songtradr, and many others including CDBaby but generally don’t suggest distributors for CID.
@@MakeMusicIncomenformation!! As per today, Adrev now combined with FUGA, staring today they will called [FUGA powered by Adrev]

Can I submit a work for hire to Identifyy, even though I'm not the original composer, so long as I am the exclusive rightsholder?
I don’t really know about this. This might be a good question to ask them.
Hey im new to beat selling business ...i want to market my beats from type beat Channel ..and want to register them in content id ......i just want to know....how long it takes to get submission of a track in identifyy ....there is also another free service called routenote but i found there upload time is slow ....
As im going to be uploading beats 3 to 5 times a week ....
So i want to know about identifyy upload time
I’m getting ready to do some contact about beat making. You can put something on identifyy almost immediately. And it’s free but they take 30%. That being said I made almost $200 for May.
is the 30 70 split standard?
Well, it is for them. I've seen worst deals on Content ID.
Distributor sends music to youtube as a art track release, do you know if identifyy takes a cut of that?
Art tracks are not monetized by CID. They are like Spotify and do not collected by Indentifyy
@@MakeMusicIncome That's good to know, thanks so much!
when will i get my revenue i have generated in march?
Depends if you reached the $100 threshold to be paid.

Hi I'm very new to this. Now I want to upload my songs to identifyy, but I don't have a record label. Can you give me some guidance? Thank you.
You don’t need a record label to upload to Identifyy but you DO need music already on stock libraries that they think might be used on TH-cam which is primarily where they collect from.
@@MakeMusicIncome thank you my song already in pond5 now ,Should I put pond5 in the record label at identityy ?
Sure but like I said they may want to see a track record of your songs in libraries to be accepted.
Thanks man, great channel ❤
Thank you!!
Cheers
Good question. I will have to look into this...

If his channel gets demonetized, the TH-cam will likely still run ads on it. if they do, then you should get earnings. I don't think anyone knows the exact math though.

I have not heard of this. Can you direct me to where they are saying this on their website?
It's in number 6, letter d: "You may not take any action on or with respect to TH-cam, Vimeo (or other networks that allow for the so-called "claiming" or "monetization of content") that would interfere with the ability of Content Users to monetize or collect revenue from any such network with respect to their works."
To avoid any claims towards our buyers’ projects, we ask that you please reach out to the company you have registered songs with to trust/allow list any track that is uploaded to Pond5 when and if claims are made. That way our buyers can purchase your work from our marketplace without any copyright claims affecting their projects.
