Thank you commenting. In the UAE, banks are required to comply with regulations set by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE). One of these regulations requires that individuals and companies provide a source of funds when opening a bank account. This is to ensure that the money being deposited into the account is legitimate and not related to any illegal activities such as money laundering or terrorism financing. The source of funds can be in the form of salary or income from a business or investment, inheritance, or any other legitimate source. Banks may also require proof of the source of funds, such as bank statements or employment contracts, to verify that the funds are legitimate. By requiring a source of funds, banks can mitigate the risk of potential fraudulent activities and comply with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulations.
