how come the parts list dimensions don't match the dimentions above it in your "Show More Section" measurements.. i.e sides 107/8's vs parts list of 19 5/8's ??
That's a great question and I really apologize that this reply is so late. It's because somehow I realized the measurements were listed wrong in the video so I went back and updated the correct measurements in the description. I hope that helps!
Thank you! I think the hinge you’re talking about is the bee door. It makes it easy to plug up and close when it’s time to transport the new bee colony to a new home. I certainly wouldn’t want the bees to go flying down the highway without their door closed.
Since it needs to fit the lid to the jar exactly, I just place the jar where I want it and trace a whole to cut. That way there’s minimal room for error. I hope that helps!
In order to avoid a mistake, I didn’t measure it exactly. Instead I skipped the middle step and traced the exact jar lid onto the wood and cut it out. I hope that helps, let me know if it doesn’t. Thank you for asking!
Yes to transport them or keep them in anticipation of transportation. If you want to keep them you'll need to buy or build a full sized hive. Building is tricky because measurements have to be exact (within less than 1/8"). I have always bought my hives but I hope to try building some one day. Beekeeping is super fun so I highly recommend it!
Wow very interesting and smazing work Sure i will try making this hive just because i need it and wish exchange beekeeping ideas if you do not mind Thanks so much
The Little Black ShadeTree Yes Mam, Just six Colonies 8 and 10 frame deeps but doing lots of splits in hopefully end of February early March. Getting ready to build a bunch of Nucs but trying to figure out what type of Nuc to go with. Just got a router table for making rabbet joints so we will see how it goes. Great job on the video.
Honestly this is the most helpful one of these I have watched. Thanks.
That's so great to hear! I'm glad it could help!!
very pretty lady and a great video on how to build nucs ;D
I admire that you include your child. I have taught my neighbors boy how to keep bees. He’s 15 and a great keeper of the girls.
That's great to hear! It's so important to pass it along.
Very good job, love it. i'll transfer it to our labor at the farm to work on the same method.
Mohamed-UAE Thank you so much! Good luck with your bees!
Very cool 👍. Nice to see the next generation of beekeepers learning. We need them. New subscriber liked. Hello from the Kentucky mountains USA
Thank you! I certainly have been enjoying learning as much as I can. All our local beekeepers have been so kind!
@@TheLittleBlackShadeTree looking like you ladies are doing well. Good luck in 2020👍
@@houstonsheltonbees814 Thank you so much! We're excited about another spring :)

What are the hinges on the side of your hive boxes. Good job with the children.

What size hole for the feeder?

Hi, why do you cover them with black sheet the hive box. Thank you
I loved your video ❤
I’ve always wanted to know how to build a nuke and this is so helpful. Thank you!! Super fun too.
Apocalyptic Blonde Thank you! Bees are the best!
What size is the top feeder hole? Or hole saw size?

Felicitări!
So this is to transport them? What would I build if I want to keep them on my property?
Also....oh my gosh I cant wait till I have access to a shop. Jealous!

Yeah I think I can handle it. :) I am actually a red seal carpenter. I am going to look into this for when we get a property. Thanks a bunch!!
@@TheHowToHomemaker Oh that's right! I forgot you were a carpenter. Yes, you would have no problem with it!

Slim Sslim That sounds great! Let me know how it goes!
Have you stacked that type of design of Nuc? Just curious
Scott Pierson I haven’t yet but I want to try. Do you have your own bees?
