Personally, I think exotic pet industry have more cons than pros. I'm just glad that more people are becoming less scared of these creatures. Thanks for sharing us your video.
That's definitely valid! Would you care to share your opinion here so that the viewers can educate themselves? :) thanks as always for your support!
Am curious about your take on this as well! Would appreciate it if you can explain your thoughts on this more.
What are the cons?
@@ballistic350 they're being essentially hunted in the wild for captive breeding, they're having essential teeth removed for "safer" handling, they're being treated as human kids despite being wild animals, they're being sedated for people to interact with them for profit, they're being kept in conditions that aren't as stimulating as their natural habitat, they're being fed poorly, they're being illegally sent to places they don't belong, the mothers are being separated from the young too soon and the young develop behavior issues, etc.

Thank you for highlighting the cons as well. Also very unfortunate we see some very exotic animals made to pets like the civet (Philippine Palm Civets are considered as protected species under the nation's wildlife conservation laws.) and the binturong (The binturong has been listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN). Hopefully animals like these are made as educational animals or ambassador animals if they can no longer be released back into the wild to spread education and awareness of their vital roles in our native ecosystems.
I totally agree! I was not sure which animals were to be featured so I couldn’t do most of my research beforehand but hopefully in the future I plan to go more in depth about why they are important to our ecosystem & not ideal pets for most people. Thanks for your comment!
Napadaan lang ako and tnary ko panuorin mga gantong contents sa YT gusto ko yung ma entertainm ka at the same time may matutunan ka.
Buti naman na enjoy mo sir hehe subscribe for more!
So the cost of living in the Philippines is tiny compared to the u.s. so if companies sell in both Philippines and u.s. how can they sell animal food at the same price. In Philippines the same food would be a week's wage. How does this work?
The cost of pet products is definitely inflated here as we do not produce our own feeds for exotics yet. Also, if the food would cost you a week's wage, you shouldn't be owning a pet to begin with. Hoping for more local products in the nearby future though! 🙏🏼
SOLID TALAGA PO
Salamat mumsh
eyyyyy
You're gonna be in like 4 videos straight HAHA
Wild exotic pets are not house pets. You shouldn’t give this market a platform…
Almost all of these animals are captive bred and not caught from the wild. I am by no means promoting the illegal wildlife trade! Just educating people on the reality of these expos

Thanks for subbing!

When will we know whenever a pet expo will happen? Planning to go to a pet expo soon. Thank you
There will be another one this June specifically for reptiles! Checkout the ReptileX page on FB
Why is there a white bellied sea eagle there!?Shouldn't that be illegal to keep, cause if it was i would sneak in and steal it to give it to a rehab center!
As far as I know as long as they are captive bred, they are legal to keep. Not advising just anyone to keep one though as they are very intelligent animals with specific care requirements
1:04 lizard/ biawak in Malaysia.... that is not iguana... huhu
Actually, that was an iguana! Different from monitor lizards.
Honestly speaking, hindi dapat sinasabing "docile creatures" ang bearded dragons when attracting possible pet owners of this reptile because not all the time BD's are 'docile'. While it is true they are docile creatures but it takes time to tame them, especially if they are still hatchlings. I have two bearded dragons in my care, both male and female at 2 months of age (both gender) and honestly they are very skittish and sometimes may want to bite me if they feel scared or threatened or just don't want to be touched/handled at that time. You need to be extra patient and really dedicated with these kinds of pet reptiles.
I totally agree! While they are one of the more docile reptiles that are commonly kept as pets, it's a big misconception that they will be docile right away. Animals of all kinds will always require patience, perseverance, and research in order for them to act "tamed" with you. Appreciate your insight!
My 1st BD was a male. Quite the feisty type, always ready to jump and bite my finger whenever I tried picking him up 😂. Then I thought maybe getting a female would be a different experience since some breeders say they are more relaxed than male but when I got one, it was also very feisty. Every BD really has its own personality I guess no matter the gender.
Sana binanggit mo bwat specie's saan county of origin at mgkanu.....😊
Too little time! Tsaka kung bibili po kayo dapat mag research din. Thanks for the comment!
you should go herping again
I will soon!
schedule po ng pet expo? tapos na ba?
Tapos na po. This was last Feb but there will be the Reptile X expo this quarter!
Are the prices in Philippine pesos?
Yup!
Truly sad to see this classified as 'Best' pet expo. These conventions/expo's are pure horror to animals just for human pleasure. If captivity isn't bad enough jet, build a zoo for 2days
Fair point but I never declared it as the best! Had a lot of problems with the event which I mentioned in the video. Thank you for the comment though!
@@roquesmodernlife oh okay, good to see you didn't put it in the title to declare it as best. Thanks for letting us know you used it as clickbait. Messed up dude, might as well just join them if that's your kink
Hahaha it's more of the story I was addressing. Again, if you had only watched the video, maybe you would understand. But to each their own and I respect that.
@@roquesmodernlife yes, simply sorry, can't watch it.
@@indybogaerts5771 all good! I appreciate your opinion and comment nonetheless
Why you don't buy any think
With my tight space, schedule, and budget, I cannot afford to keep another pet. Make sure to always do your research to see whether you're fit to care for one! Did an entire video on pet ownership which you can find in my channel. :)
Sorry na agad but i laughed when i heared bamboo rat 😂
Si bam burat! Hahaha
Didn’t include the price of this exotic pets 🤦🏼♂️
Sorry no time hehe pramis sa next!

Animals shouldn’t be in takeout containers!
Just seems wrong to m
It's one of the worst pet expos. Most of the pets aren't regulated, and shouldn't be pets at all
While I do agree that there were a handful of animals that in this expo that shouldn’t be considered as your typical pets, all the ones here were legally owned. Which is why I made the video to educate people on why they are far from the ideal pet for most people. Thanks for your comment!
Agreed. A vet student at a pet expo and exotic pets as well. What’s next- a visit to a pet store and buying puppies at a puppy mill
@@roquesmodernlife the issue is, your fan base isn't necessarily in the Philippines. A lot of those animals are illegally trafficked to the US and elsewhere as pets. They shouldn't even be featured. =/
Bawal umihi dito!
Bawal nga talaga 🤣
Hi sir, pag nagpepet ka ng 'exotic' animals, may legal/government requirements po ba na kelangan i process para makapag alaga?
By law, yes. Kaya siguraduhin niyo na may notarized deed of sale at OR kung para makipag register ka sa DENR. Especially kung may balak po kayo mag breed. Will make a video about that soon!
@@roquesmodernlife ok, thank you sir
