The pure genius of this iconic carnival staple for over 50 years now is the fact that it is one of, if not, _THE_ easiest ride on the midway to set up and break down! You align the cars so that they are six each side, and then via hydraulics, the whole ride will lower flat on the trailer it is hinged upon, like a clam... The cars do not have to be taken off whatsoever, and after the ride is secured, there are racks in which to stow the ramps and the "Zipper" sign... Seasoned Carni Riggers claim they can singlehandedly have the whole thing set up and running, or down and ready for transport, within a half an hour!
I absolutely love the Zipper ride but in my opinion the original lighting was much better even if they wanted to use LEDs there's nothing wrong with that but keep the classic look the way the lighting was and always has been the new lighting design it makes this look like an entirely different ride. Anyways in my opinion the classic looking lighting design was much better. I'm a huge Zipper fan I've even built myself a functioning model of the Zipper right down to its ability to fold down and fit onto the model truck to move on to the next carnival location. 🙂👍✌
