Out of all the heroes in MK9, Johnny Cage was the only one who didn’t die, become a revenant, or a weird corrupted version of himself. Of all people it was Cage.
I like the Mediterranean War Cult backstory stuff for Johnny. It finally gives a reason for him being able to do the Shadow Kick and Shadow Ball stuff. Plus, it makes him relevant/strong enough to hang with the top tier people
Well I for one appreciate the fact that they were able to explain his green afterimage powers and show in depth how powerful they are....(MK9 arcade ending) (MKXStory)which wasn't done in the earlier games... I think it's funny that some people can't let go of the fact that he was able to beat an elder god because of this and in all honesty Johnny Cage has always been a very formidable opponent even in the original timeline. The problem is that he was dealt a bad hand in and out of the franchise. NRS which was Midway at the time fired an actor that did the motion capture moves for Johnny Cage in mk1 and 2 because of legal issues involving him advertising a different fighting game for a another company. So they got rid of him and left out the character in mk3 until they could find someone to replace him in the next installment which was mk trilogy. Also covering up with lore which ended up him being presumed dead in mk 3 by which people could tell by seeing a tombstone named "cage" on it in the graveyard stage in mk3. Also the mk movie sequel (Annihilation)didn't help either as they had him killed in the beginning of the movie by Shao Kahn giving the viewers/gamers their own answer of how he "died". With those 3 major things created a negative snowball effect for the character which ultimately depicted him as being a "joke" character up until the current timeline... im just glad he's finally getting the justice he ever so rightly deserves.....

Taven and shujinko are my favorite characters from mk and I like the fact that even tho they aren't in the last mk game they are mentioned in some character interactions and taven even appears in takeda's and kenchi's ending on the arcade mode

I know a lot of people talk s*** about Johnny Cage became the main hero in 10 the reason he got stronger is because he had Real World experience no longer fighting in movies now he's fighting for real and that's how he was able to scale up
Yeah Johnny getting magic bullshit to let him fight a god was pretty damn stupid, but his character development was tight. All in all, pretty good video as per usual and yeah Johnny, Sub Zero and Scorpion has the strongest character growth out of most of the cast and from MK 9 to a bit of MK 11 it is pretty good for Johnny's growth. Again great job with the video and I agree, man MK 11 looked so good!

The one who had awoken the power to Kombat Gods and Monsters. And on the climatic battle of good and evil, he is their greatest leader. Yet his story is not about strength and merits. Johnny Cage is the story about a man being human and letting go of the things that others do not.
Johnny Cage is the one of the top tier people that have great cahracter development. Bite me if you don't believe me. (He went from a kid with too much time in his hands and being hot shit, to a devoted and great father, teacher, leader, role model, and a BADASS FIGHTER.)
Although Geras had a brief history. I found him quite relatable, an immortal slave handcrafted to perform the deeds of his sadistic master. But in the MK11 plot, he sacrificed himself to let history run itself. While granting him eternal peace. I'm glossing over the story just cause, its night and I'm gonna snacth some Zzz's later.

I'm mostly confused about why they pretend the green aura is something that neither Cage has control of and just pops up out of nowhere, but all of Johnny and Cassie's move sets incorporate the green aura in various attacks.

You know I just now notice something. Leading up from the rebooted timeline from MK9 to MK11 story mode(and also in the comics), Johnny Cage is the only combatant that has not yet die (excluding Raiden). I mean the guy survived the assault of Sindel in MK9,didn't get devoured by D'vorah and murder by Shinnok in MKX and rather being beaten by both Shao Khan and Sindel he survived and got captured in MK11. What I'm saying he's more than a. joke character, he's a survivor.

Johnny Cage is my favorite character, but I always disliked how he never fights using his powers in the story even though he has had the concept of his powers ever since MK1. He used his powers in the story for 1 minute in 1 game, that sucks.
Donte cage and cassie’s power was apparently meant to fight elder gods so it’s more effective against elder gods basically the elder gods is like fire and their ancient bs power is like water
