Brilliant idea you folks have put together. You need more of these all over the USA. You need to get with TOP guys on TH-cam who do wood, metal,and other technology's and get them to talk about your idea....ALL over the USA is where these shops should be.
Good news Bill, there are hundreds of makerspaces around the country and overseas. Do some checking in your area, there make be one close by. Get involved, makerspaces, like The MakerBarn, rely on volunteers to keep them running.
I've heard about this Maker Barn for some time now but didn't realize it was so extensive. Very impressive and a wonderful resource for those with the desire but not the equipment to create.
