I never get tired of listening to her because she sings with so much heart and her musical range is incredible, both in Spanish and English. Of all her songs, "Crucfijo" instantly became my favourite when I first heard it. The lyrics are evocative of so much pain and the vocal textures and subtleties her voice had acquired as a result of "Penzance" are amazing. Much stronger vibrato in both her lower range and on those high notes which absolutely pierce my heart. I've listened to it hundreds of times and not only do I never tire of it but also I discover more nuances each time. This is when she actually "learned how to sing" (according to her memoir) and the difference is so notable. I've never seen that kind of vocal evolution with any other singer (Streisand is still Streisand). Love Linda to bits and I think of her every day

I grew up listening to my father singing mariachi. I idolized his voice, dress, and corridos. Luis Aguilar movies. Vicente Fernadez. Yes, Linda has a great voice, but to sing mariachi, it takes more than a great voice. You have to have passion and mariachi style. She has it all, and for someone who had to remaster the language, she knocked it out of the BULLRING!!!

Of all her songs, "Crucfijo" instantly became my favourite when I first heard it. The lyrics are evocative of so much pain and the vocal textures and subtleties her voice had acquired as a result of "Penzance" are amazing. Much stronger vibrato in both her lower range and on those high notes which absolutely pierce my heart. I've listened to it hundreds of times and not only do I never tire of it but also I discover more nuances each time. This is when she actually "learned how to sing" (according to her memoir) and the difference is so notable. I've never seen that kind of vocal evolution with any other singer (Streisand is still Streisand). Love Linda to bits and I think of her every day

I grew up listening to my father singing mariachi. I idolized his voice, dress, and corridos. Luis Aguilar movies. Vicente Fernadez. Yes, Linda has a great voice, but to sing mariachi, it takes more than a great voice. You have to have passion and mariachi style. She has it all, and for someone who had to remaster the language, she knocked it out of the BULLRING!!!
