I've been a fashion design student for 6 yrs now and I love watching different approaches to garment making, but the way you sewed in the zippper WHAT!!!!!! HOW HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS, ITS SO MUCH EASIER, LIKE IT TAKES AWAY SO MUCH STRESS AND HEARTACHE..... GENIUS
I re watch your videos over and over again because the quality is A+, your personality is so cheery and loving, and your craftsmanship is beyond amazing, so when you upload new videos I get a bit too excited
As a tailor it's interesting to see how you get your results. It reminds me of the way I learned to sew before my formal education in the theatre haha. That's actually a good message for everyone who starts with cosplay - you can learn everything by yourself. :)
you make it look so easy kamui! when it comes to cosplay construction, i'm always afraid to even start because of the "what ifs" and "well, this could go wrong--"
And then all those things do happen and go wrong. "Murphy's law" and all that. But what if I told you it doesn't matter? What if I told you that we only get better because we make all those mistakes? :) Failing is just part of succeeding.
I admire how you watched vids to attempt sewing your skirt for the first time. Of course you succeeded! By the way, my wife, who sews like a maniac (well, I should say 'maniacally' I suppose) always washes the fabric 1st to minimize shrinkage.
KamuiCosplay washing or cleaning any fabric you can before a project helps. It reduces shrinkage, it helps leach excess dyes, and it tests the fabrics durability. If it rips, it either was cheap or not meant to be washed. Also with furs it helps reduce shedding. Because a furry butt that isnt part of the costume is no fun.
I hope you see this comment cause I cant thank you enough for being a inspiration for what you do! I entered Sewing and leather crafting as a couping method to my depression but its become a greater part of me that I couldn’t be more Happier! Thank you for being a inspiration and helping people like me ❤️❤️❤️ I hope i can create many beautiful works as you someday!
Hi there! I just love your dogs. They are sooooo cute. I want to give them both a BIG hug! You are so lucky to have them. God bless you and your family.
I have a starter miqo'te set too! I love how the steps we took to make it are very similar ^^ It makes me feel better that someone else had the same flow of logic to make that (somewhat impractical) outfit come to life!
Your videos always help me so much with my own cosplays. Lots of people say that they have no skills to do it but a year ago I didn't either. With practice and the help of so many amazing cosplayers tutorials I now know a lot. I was tracer at my last con and I got so much attention. I was so happy
I love armor making because sewing is so hard. Pattern making is usually the hardest part for me. I really love these videos so thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Oh I love the video! And it's such a cool detail that you put 'buy my books' on the wall behind you haha XD For the question... I love armor making and sewing! Just love it both :3
Could add a bit at the start with a message from Hyno Toad saying....buy my books, buy ALL my books!I am always impressed with the sewing skills of Cosplayers, my talent for it so far is limited to sewing up my dogs teddies while she patiently sits there waiting to pull them apart again....sigh :)
I dunno. I just started cosplaying? and my world has been a mix of trying to sew, stabbing myself with a needle, losing the needle...and hoping my cat didn't eat it :/ It's just! All your cosplays are amazing and incredibly accurate, and the way you create them and talk about them it's like watching a dance or, Something i don't really know what it is. And I KNOW it didn't happen overnight and you worked Really hard for probably Years to get to this level of expertise! I just honestly wish I had your hands that seem like they are from some cosplay wizard. :/ magical wizard hands.
I'm still trying to work myself up to creating a "small semi-foam armor" project which was to make a set of abs to go on my cosplay. it's expensive and I'd probably only get one shot at it because of the pricing, I just kinda wish I can go like BAM like Kamui! Like you'd go 'Fake abs? Fuck yeah!' while I'm like 'Oh Shit, fake abs?! ' Kinda thing. I'm not upset or anything like that, I'm just trying to clarify that you're amazing pretty much.
I know what you mean. The thing is you only see a supercut of my successes on TH-cam. Not the years I spent on honing my skills or even the amount of tries I had to take to make the thing you see in the video. I was exactly like you when I started. Fumbling around with no clue what to do. It get's better with every project however. Just don't expect to be super successful the first time you try it. Nothing worth doing is easy anyway. :) Just hang in there!
Hai Senpai! (ง'̀-'́)ง If u say i can then I'll do my fricking best! It's going to look fantastic! And I am projecting to the universe to make it true! wait a minute, just to clarify, um, it's possible to make foam abs look, like, okay on the first try? ( '-')
Omg I googled expanding foam and how have I not found you before?? This channel is going to do wonders for my WHM costume, thanks for a great tutorial!
Doing a tail was one of my first cosplay projects too. I also did a similar harness and the tail for Zidane from FF9.It was before youtube existed but my mom gave me a lot of advice and the rest was wracking my brain. Thankyou for giving me back great memories.
Amazing :). I’m waiting eagerly for more of your books to come in the mail... I really enjoy your tutorials and books. So detailed and you make everything so easy to understand for us beginners especially ! Thank you!
Just bought your cosplay sewing book. Have been a big fan for a while now, very excited to get it and try some new stuff out!! Thanks for your content!
This is a super informative video. You make sewing look so easy! I’d much rather just make foam armor, but sewing is something I’d like to be better at. Thanks for posting! ❤️
I personally like Armor making more just because it's stupid hard for me and I love a challenge but I do love sewing! Also my husband loves your sewing book he's learning how to sew and it's been super helpful!
Absolutely love this! Your Mi'qote turned out so well! I'm obsessed with FFXIV right now lol I'd love to make an Au Ra cosplay someday. Looking forward to your next video! (& you have a sewing book now! YAY! I'll have to add it to my collection of your books :) *can't sew a stitch*)
Love this! I have a ton of spare faux leather that I had no idea what to do with. My first attempt at armour with it was... passable. Now I'll have to give it another go!
Lovely costume!❤🐱 I like BOTH sewing and armor making videos! It's good to get the knowledge of how to create different kinds of costumes😁 love your channel! I have one of your books, will most likely get the rest in the future😉
i love fabricating but sewing is a great rewarding break from tough physical work of fabrication. I love both! Casting is also quite fun since its all tough work at the beginning until you can pour your resin over and over =]
your personality is very ...comfortable? xD I don't know, you explain very detailed, yet easy to understand and the quirky behaviour just makes me relaxed while listening to the instructions. It's more like a friend explaining than a stranger.
I love it, your work is absolutely incredible and super inspiring. I got here from your Monster Hunter Cosplays but I've always wanted to put together a Cosplay based off of my SCH's Glamours (Mostly the Hood of the White Griffon and the Lost Allagan set).
I wish these patterns were available. I don't have a dress form and my drawing is terrible. I currently making this for a friend. My first cosplay of any kind. Your work is always amazing!
I totally prefer armor making x) It's much easier to learn imo - whenever I try to sew something it ends up in the trash can ... but I gotta say that I still need to buy your sewing book, so maybe after I read it, I'll be super amazing with my sewing machine xD
I would love to see what you would come up with for Ruby’s crescent rose that can fold up... it seems tricky but I think you would come up with a fantastic job

Me: Looks good
Her: "It turned out faaaar too long."

+Fisby Bear It sure does!!
Fisby Bear ⭐️😽💋💋💋
KamuiCosplay ✨🤘😇✨
KamuiCosplay I miss having a sewing machine meow... 😿 ..... 😻
.............. ✨🐞✨🌻✨ #TySm
CORGI!!! Gol, actually a second name... They most always know their breed name. 💛
What a fun & comfy costume! When I saw the "buy my books" in the background I screamed lol!!!
+ZonZonZonbi Still gonna say it ;)
It's straight up the best and most fun way to do it. It'd be like a Where's Waldo kinda game lol
As a tailor it's interesting to see how you get your results. It reminds me of the way I learned to sew before my formal education in the theatre haha. That's actually a good message for everyone who starts with cosplay - you can learn everything by yourself. :)
+KathLady You can achieve any result. Even if the way to get there probably looks so wrong for someone who knows what they are doing haha :)
Armor making = great!
Sewing = great!
Dogs = SO CUTE!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Dogs always steal the show.
I love every project you do. Youre incredibly talented and creative. Would love to see more from you. ❤️
Love from Malaysia

hnnng I know, you're right. I'll just have to buy your sewing book. maybe that will give me a push to finally learn how to sew >
I admire how you watched vids to attempt sewing your skirt for the first time. Of course you succeeded! By the way, my wife, who sews like a maniac (well, I should say 'maniacally' I suppose) always washes the fabric 1st to minimize shrinkage.

Hi there! I just love your dogs. They are sooooo cute. I want to give them both a BIG hug! You are so lucky to have them. God bless you and your family.

+MK Patzer Super impractical
Your videos always help me so much with my own cosplays. Lots of people say that they have no skills to do it but a year ago I didn't either. With practice and the help of so many amazing cosplayers tutorials I now know a lot. I was tracer at my last con and I got so much attention. I was so happy
+Night King Practice makes perfect! :) Just don't forget to do it for yourself mostly and not for the attention ❤️
KamuiCosplay I always do it because I love it. I started cosplaying after my dad died and then I realized that it was so fun to do
I really enjoy watching your build process. You do an amazing job!
Thanks!
I am always so impressed with how clean your work is!
+Destiny Italia Thanks! 😀
I love armor making because sewing is so hard. Pattern making is usually the hardest part for me. I really love these videos so thank you for sharing your talent with us.
+cellano Hope the videos help a bit!
this "turning inside out" technique is very helpful!, thank you
This is the first video of yours ive watched and i do not regret it. Watching the process of making that was awesome! Subscribed❤

+Pretzl Cosplay ❤️
Pretzl Cosplay omg haha I saw that too

*I marvel at the fact that you make it look like fun, instead of pain. You are a very talented artist*
Why should it be painful to create something?

Omg I googled expanding foam and how have I not found you before?? This channel is going to do wonders for my WHM costume, thanks for a great tutorial!
Glad you like it! x)
KamuiCosplay What are those clips you use to hold the pleats down for sewing? I'm having a lot of trouble with pins and those look super helpful! :)
Wonderclips!
Doing a tail was one of my first cosplay projects too. I also did a similar harness and the tail for Zidane from FF9.It was before youtube existed but my mom gave me a lot of advice and the rest was wracking my brain. Thankyou for giving me back great memories.
