Sharepoint is a document server were people store various documents in folders they want to share with specific people. Google drive is for one person who wants to access files anywhere and share files if need be. Sharepoint is for teams who want to share files with one another.
A big steaming pile of s*** which should be avoided at any cost at any company. Do not ever implement SP in your company unless you have a SP developer who has no life.

You can´t most of the time atleast. Our company is using both versions of the sharepoint. The new version and the old one via Internet Explorer!
