10 years of Grease Pencil, what's next?

Almost a decade ago it was decided to turn a simple viewport annotation tool like Grease Pencil into a full 2D animated pipeline.
In this talk we will talk about the adoption of Grease Pencil by the industry and the roadmap of what's next: StoryPencil (Grease pencil for storyboards), VR, Geometry nodes? Grease Pencil 3.0?

I love your idea to mix Greace Pencil + Geometry Nodes. Actually, it made me think about the good old Maya "paint effects" ! but with the full potential of nodes + the assets browser, it could truely help build complex creations by mixing art and node-programming. Bravo !

I really felt for Daniel with the sound issue. Always rehearse and use the most common file formats possible! But know you can never be 100% sure everything will work. A faulty cable is all it took to mess up the videos in the lightning talks!

GP in VR will be pretty amazing.
Would love it if someone made a GP export addon to export the data so that we pass to a shader in a game engine.

At this point, for a beginner, grease pencil is also a gigantic mess that needs to URGENTLY be cleaned up, there are 3 different interfaces and leftovers from before that compete with eachother, some of them don't work at all, I struggled to just get a simple thing like FILL properly working. You will not notice this when you are experienced, because you learned to work around these, but if you see it for the first few times, it does not make any sense. I don't get how workspaces work and what they are for, do they allow functions that you can't just get in normal blender without them?
