My parents subscribed to something similar to Le Club français du livre in the US; it was the Heritage Press, and we are fortunate to have many of the classics to hand down through generations. Old big beautiful books and ASMR are a match made in heaven, thank you.

I love old books! This might sound weird but back in college sometimes I'd get sidetracked while looking for a book in the library and I would start looking for the oldest books they had. The oldest one I ever found was from the 1890s!
I wouldn’t find that weird at all. There’s something comforting in being surrounded by books, how the tales always outlast the authors. Imagine how many people lost afternoons or found inspiration in reading the book you held in your hands from the 1890s. You’re just the latest link in the chain
Thank you so much for making these videos. ASMR Show and tell/chatting/rambling/books puts me directly to sleep. You are such a talented ASMRtist, thank you again
We lost both of our kitty babies to a house fire back in October. I honestly didn't realize how incredibly comforting hearing a cat purr in an asmr video would be, but I need an entire sub genre of it haha.
An interesting video, I love ancient books and their stories and for this reason it was even more beautiful to see your excited eyes when you touched that almost 100-year-old flower! An immense emotion! Thanks for this content, not only for the asmr but for the interesting content. In high school my literature teacher loved Baudelaire so much that he even read poems in French! Grazie, thank beaucoup! ❤️
Hi BehindTheMoons! I loved the sound of your voice over your kitty purring in the beginning, and I also loved that your pretty plant is growing into a carpet on your table!
I’m currently re-learning French after some time, and your pleasantly soft whispering voice with shots of the interiors of these beautiful books really helps guide me along nicely. C’est une superbe vidéo!
This is one of the best ASMR experiences I’ve ever seen and heard. Love your voice, the books, English, French, history, the entire package. More book videos please!
The part about Faust is so interesting! I live in Germany since Highschool and back then we needed to write essays about Faust in my 11th grade, I have fund that book sooo difficult 😂
Hi! I just love your Channel! Thank you for your amazing work! This is my absolute favorite video! I would love to see more "book-videos" from you. Could you do another one someday, please? That would be wonderful! Lots of love!
There is a publisher in the UK which is similar to the Club Francais de Livre. You used to have to be a member but now anyone can buy their books which are also high quality editions of classics.
At one time books were often sold as just printed and folded sheets of paper, and buyers would then take them to a book binder to have them bound to their own requirements. Not sure when this practice died out but certainly a long time ago. In very old libraries it's not uncommon to see a lot of books all bound in the same way.
Your last book reminds me of my original 1940 copy of Ernest Hemingway's "For Whom the Bell Tolls". It even has it's first owners name written on the inside of the cover. Very neat, these old books.
This was so nice! My favourite part was the readings, and following along in the book as you read. Very tingly! Even though I understand very little French ^^
The way Moons says "Goethe" is a perfect illustration of the difference between French and German pronounciation. The French never pronounce that last "e", as it has no accent. The Germans do.
In high school I was in love with French poets such as Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Lautréamont and Apollinaire (in part due to his Polish origins). I wish I could read them in the orginal 📚
Hello 😊👋 This is my first time commenting on one of your videos. I really like your ASMR style. A lot of soft spoken stuff and no super exaggerated whispering. Also you do non role play content, I appreciate that, cause I don't like role playing ASMR. Regarding your question, I'd love to see more book videos 🙂👍 Not a fan of your cat purring though, but that's a matter of taste of course. Have a nice day and stay safe in this pandemic! Sulfur
Hearing Maddy right as the video starts... I'm instantly relaxed.
You enthusiasm is so infectious, I now want a copy of that edition of Faust, so I can misinterpret a French misinterpretation of the German original.
Hearing how happy Maddie is in the background always makes my heart melt 💕💕💕 it’s so soothing

Love the purring. Interesting video and very relaxing. I love when you read. The French language sounds so beautiful to me
You speak both languages so well, you're a diamond in the rough.

What a uniquely powerful video. "These items are a story already."

Very soft and nice voice as usual.
That is so funny about the translation... Old Gilbert is the epitome of faking it til you make it! Lovely video, thank you!

I am 100% a dog over cats person. But I can safely say, on behalf of everybody... you don't ever need to apologise for your cat purring
I wish i could speak French to understand what you were reading, but i stayed anyway because of your accent.
J'adore quand tu lis en français 😍

I don't like most ASMR because it's mostly creepy weird whispering but this one here is solid gold
Old Books + BTM = Edutingled 😋
If you like special edition books similar to the Faust in this video I recommend checking out The Folio Society.

This is why cats generally don't do sound production in the movie industry....
hardcovers, aw yis. there's something about physical copies that digital can't replicate.
so cool
I love your French accent so much. I can understand why English women love French men.
i miss my cat :( those purrs at the beginning of the video fucking killed me
Cat! 😀

👍
😍😍😍
Wow, you're fluent in French.
I'm French :)

THE NINE GATES! 😈 YOU GOT IT?
Those old books are probably expensive, penguin collection ftw
You can see the prices on the first page, it was between 8€ to 12€ each if I recall correctly
So my cat just jumped up at start of video and i had to check it was not my cat i could hear purring :D
...can you fall in love with a video?
I was betting I would see a signed copy of The Little Prince.
