There's something in the water in Korea and Sm in particular putting these powerhouse vocals in such smol packages. Taeyeon, Wendy, Winter, Solar ect. Wendy is my hero tho. Not many people talk about it but her career almost ended after the release of Psycho. While rehearsing for a performance for a year end show she fell off a poorly lit platform about 2 to 3 meters. She fractured her cheek and hip, broke a wrist and had multiple cuts and bruises. She was left laying there for, I think about 5 minutes. It was reported that it was Solar of Mamamoo that found her. She spent several months in the hospital and nearly a year recovering and rehabbing. She's come back stronger than ever.

If you wanna see more about them and their individual styles and talents, they also have a sub-unit (IRENE&SEULGI) and three of them had released solo albums (Wendy with "Like Water", Joy with "Hello" and Seulgi with "28 Reasons"). Yeri, who is the maknae, has composed and written songs, some of them have MVs too. They also have TON of collabs, in and outside of kpop. And like you said, they are an "older" group by the industry standards, going strong in their 9th year as Red Velvet, without any major scandals, and no lineup changes (Yeri joining later doesn't count here, since she was supposed to debut with them anyway), and that professionalism really shows. Aside from their loved vocals, talent and weird but fun songs, they are extremely nice and overall good humans beings. The bond the have with eachother is also really strong, they have mentioned multiple times how they consider each other as family. That chemistry is no joke, and anyone can see it when they perfom. So sorry from the long comments, I'm just having a proud reveluv moment 😅

Shinee and EXO were/are so huge and NCT and Aespa get all the hype now so RV seems to get overlooked somehow. That’s why they were the last SM group I checked out, I never heard anyone talking about them so I assumed they weren’t as good. But clearly they are amazing and deserve better! Maybe this Killing Voice will attract more fans.

OH Boy, back in 2018 when I was getting in RV, was the song that I heard and where I was FULLY locked in. It's off their first album and I was going in order of releases and was just like "oh this is special"
I am so glad they did Killing Voice, always wanted one to show their great songs and singing to many people. Standard power vocal Wendy(left end) and colored voices of all other members go so well harmonized or layered. They sing with Red (fun, energetic, beat driven, dance pop) and Velvet (smooth, voice driven, sultry, r&b) and various something between Red and Velvet. I found most people prefer Velvet at first, but in the end they love all as every song is done with great quality and effort. You will find awesome voices in silly looking bubble pop. There is assigned singer and rapper but all of them sing and rap as required. Zimzalabim is magic word like abracadabra. did i tell you they are space witches. Middle girl, Irene is rapper, leader, center or old mom and the original visual. Visually luring people is her role 😅 Reasons I love them are great voices, great song and production by SM to every single bside, great instrumens, some time crazy synth bass, properly modernized oldschool music styles, and finally their family-like love for each other and fan. I subbed today but honestly i am not good sub but i promise i will be here any time RV is here or sometime for SM family. Cheers.

28:12 Red Velvet is one of the best, if not the best, at layering vocals in K-pop. And when I say layering vocals, I'm not just referring to adding adlibs over the main topline, but, you know, even when they don't harmonize but sing in unison (singing the same notes) instead, they sound distinctive yet blended at the same time, creating smooth vocal layers. I call it the Red Velvet's wall of sound lol
Yeah I talk about them being the queens of layering I think in every RV video I do lol. They are really good at it and they do it at the perfect times. I think they have a superpower of knowing how to compliment and play off each other's voices in such a beautiful way. This group has such a satisfying sound.

I have been a fan of choir music, a capella, vocal bands, and just singing in general for a LONG time and it is no exaggeration to say that Red Velvet have some of the tightest harmonies I have ever heard from any group of vocalists in my entire life. Also as you can probably tell already they have an unbelievable catalog of great music.

Everyone's already told you who everyone is, but yeah. QUEENS. They are icons, legends, brilliantly talented women with incredible uniqueness and also the ability to blend together soooo well. The ad libs are amaaazing always. I REALLY love your editing - how you put yourself and more thoughts of yours on the screen throughout, it adds more to the reaction in such a cool and fun way without disrupting any of the incredible performance - which I don't mind pausing or even short comments but it's just fun to have the extra commentary haha especially because you get to look back on yourself at that point in the video now that you know what you know as someone who already finished it all haha Anyway. Fun fact for u: Wendy is canadian, she moved to Canada with her older sister when she was a kid. She is the darling of Toronto. There is a video floating around of 14 year old Wendy singing Whitney houston in her high school music room. If it was not obvious, Red velvet’s music style is r&b. All their songs have some elements of r&b mixed in but their very heavy on r&b. Wendy is not actually Canadian. She was born and raised in Korea. She's never had Canadian citizenship. She lived here from the time she was 10 until about the age of 14 or 15. Then she lived in Minnesota for a little while before moving back to Korea to pursue being a singer.

If you wanna see more about them and their individual styles and talents, they also have a sub-unit (IRENE&SEULGI) and three of them had released solo albums (Wendy with "Like Water", Joy with "Hello" and Seulgi with "28 Reasons"). Yeri, who is the maknae, has composed and written songs, some of them have MVs too. They also have TON of collabs, in and outside of kpop.
And like you said, they are an "older" group by the industry standards, going strong in their 9th year as Red Velvet, without any major scandals, and no lineup changes (Yeri joining later doesn't count here, since she was supposed to debut with them anyway), and that professionalism really shows.
Aside from their loved vocals, talent and weird but fun songs, they are extremely nice and overall good humans beings. The bond the have with eachother is also really strong, they have mentioned multiple times how they consider each other as family. That chemistry is no joke, and anyone can see it when they perfom.

Red Velvet seems to be the middle child at SM. Shinee and EXO were/are so huge and NCT and Aespa get all the hype now so RV seems to get overlooked somehow. That’s why they were the last SM group I checked out, I never heard anyone talking about them so I assumed they weren’t as good. But clearly they are amazing and deserve better! Maybe this Killing Voice will attract more fans.
They're insanely popular in Korea and internationally, sm is just known to neglect them which is very unfortunate

OH Boy, back in 2018 when I was getting in RV, was the song that I heard and where I was FULLY locked in. It's off their first album and I was going in order of releases and was just like "oh this is special"
I am so glad they did Killing Voice, always wanted one to show their great songs and singing to many people. Standard power vocal Wendy(left end) and colored voices of all other members go so well harmonized or layered.
They sing with Red (fun, energetic, beat driven, dance pop) and Velvet (smooth, voice driven, sultry, r&b) and various something between Red and Velvet.
I found most people prefer Velvet at first, but in the end they love all as every song is done with great quality and effort. You will find awesome voices in silly looking bubble pop.
There is assigned singer and rapper but all of them sing and rap as required.

Middle girl, Irene is rapper, leader, center or old mom and the original visual. Visually luring people is her role 😅
Reasons I love them are great voices, great song and production by SM to every single bside, great instrumens, some time crazy synth bass, properly modernized oldschool music styles, and finally their family-like love for each other and fan.

And when I say layering vocals, I'm not just referring to adding adlibs over the main topline, but, you know, even when they don't harmonize but sing in unison (singing the same notes) instead, they sound distinctive yet blended at the same time, creating smooth vocal layers. I call it the Red Velvet's wall of sound lol
Yeah I talk about them being the queens of layering I think in every RV video I do lol. They are really good at it and they do it at the perfect times. I think they have a superpower of knowing how to compliment and play off each other's voices in such a beautiful way. This group has such a satisfying sound.

I have been a fan of choir music, a capella, vocal bands, and just singing in general for a LONG time and it is no exaggeration to say that Red Velvet have some of the tightest harmonies I have ever heard from any group of vocalists in my entire life. Also as you can probably tell already they have an unbelievable catalog of great music.

Everyone's already told you who everyone is, but yeah. QUEENS. They are icons, legends, brilliantly talented women with incredible uniqueness and also the ability to blend together soooo well. The ad libs are amaaazing always. I REALLY love your editing - how you put yourself and more thoughts of yours on the screen throughout, it adds more to the reaction in such a cool and fun way without disrupting any of the incredible performance - which I don't mind pausing or even short comments but it's just fun to have the extra commentary haha especially because you get to look back on yourself at that point in the video now that you know what you know as someone who already finished it all haha Anyway.
I would love to keep seeing more Red Velvet reactions from you, although you got a really great tour of some highlights in their discography, there is of course so much more to see and hear from a group that debuted in 2014!
