    1. Get educated.
    2. Get the right tools.
    3. Get some experience.
    4. Get connected.
    5. Get a mentor.
    6. Get hired.

    This is really something that I have never thought about. I've always been a customer service junkie, and am seeing how UX is what I have trying to improve for nearly all my life....

    I just don't understand why an awesome video like this would still have a dislike left alone 14 dislikes, it beats me!

      ...well maybe because like in the case of a highly "designed" website that is weak in content, this video did not rise to its title. Yes, the artwork was great, but it was merely a commercial for an ebook.

    • @uxmastery
      @uxmastery 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I wouldn't say "merely". We think it's got solid advice as well as being interesting to watch. If people buy the ebook, that allows us to keep making great content.

    Thank you for posting this video. It is a very nice and clear roadmap to how to get started in the field. It can be used as a map to plan how to get ready to get in the field. How much time do you think it would take to learn enough to be able to get hired as a junior UX designer?

    • @uxmastery
      @uxmastery 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question, Wendy. It depends on your aptitude and what industry experience you might already have. If you were starting from scratch (no familiarity with the web at all), a higher education diploma or degree would be best. If you've already got a background in design or digital projects then a couple of months hard study with practical experience would help you be relatively competitive. There's a summary of opinions from the UX Mastery forums listed here: uxmastery.com/ux-mastery-communitys-guide-ux-training/

      To see a 30 year old ask if it's too late for them to start a new career, depresses me. :( What does that say for a 49 year old with 25 years of IT experience? Go for it! You're young!!!

    The intro music doesn't match the graphics. The music is more futuristic and clear but the drawings are less serious and need a different track to go with them. IMO.
