I watched this series late (after DOTS) and with low expectation, but it turned out great and it blew me away since the first episode all the way to the end. I've never watched any K-Drama that make me feel really connected. oh, and I laughed hard everytime dong ryong appears.. he's the friend that everyone has XD

I just finished watching all episodes last night. This series came out in 2015 and now it's 2020. I do not watch a lot of korean series. I just watched those that has really good reviews, are highly recommended, plus how the audience rave about them. So lately, with the existence of Netflix and the lockdown due to Covid pandemic, i finally have the time and gave in to this and watched it. I have 0 to very little idea about the story and the cast since I am not a huge Kpop fan. And this indeed is one of the most beautiful korean tv series ever made. It has simple yet very realistic premise. I think it's hard to pull off a story like that and be able to get very good ratings. But, i feel that the ending was a bit rush (or maybe I just did not want it to end yet after 20 episodes). I wish it still showed how Deuk-son and Taek open up their relationship to their families and if Jung Hwan was able to really be honest with Deuk-son about his feelings. But anyway, it said that the series was really about family and Deuk-son's lovelife was just a side story so it really did not revolve on that so much. But I still wish they made another season. 😁
I also just finished this drama thru netflix and yeah i have thesame sentiments. I felt like to ending was too rushed. Same reasons as well.
I read an article online that they had to change the ending bec someone leaked it thru SNS? The supposed ending was that Junghwan had a plane crash accident. The last thing on his mind was Deoksun. Still deoksun. And Take & Deoksun had to go to his grave to ask for his blessing so that they could get married. On Bo-ra and Sunwoo's wedding, doryang left an empty seat for junghwan!! Huhuhuhu if they had just gone thru the (supposedly) script i swear i wouldve really cried my eyes out x 10!!!

Yes I had that impression too. The final was definitely changed I think because everyone just loved Junghwan so they decided not to have him killed by airplane accident and also the 'main couple' Dukseon and Taek lost their importance because was poorly developed and they switched the attention to Sunwoo and Bora, which I found it to be a bit strage. They didn't even show us their marriage although they are the main couple, and they showed us the old one being interviewed in the end..That didn't make sense. Also producers failed to show us the development of their relationship most of that happened in the 2 finals episode... Too few in my opinion to convince us they were better than the original Junghwan Dukseon couple which leaded the romance till episode 16...
Yet I belive the producers wanted Dukseon and Taek togheter from the start they just played with our feeling but in the end they couldn't control the audience preference for Junghwan.. That's it. This is why at the end of this drama in 2015 many viewers complain about it but eventually they stopped when they discovered main couple is dating in real life

I seriously couldn't believe it! I was casually scrolling down my youtube subs and suddenly I see these videos tVN uploaded. at first I tried to avoid them but then I saw "Park Bogum is the husband!" or something like that in korean and I totally flipped out! I snapped all my #teamjunghwan friends thinking "omg omg #teamtaek has a chance asdfghjk" then I scroll up and see a fUCKING KISSING SCENE WITH THE TWO..... LIKE HOLY CRAP YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY I WAS! couldn't help but think "huh, this must be how drugs feel like" XD. and so basically, i ended up watching all the spoilers and even watched the episode raw. mun they are so cute like dhggksigd esp that part where they're hugging outside and DK pinches him and he's like "..yah" //DED// .. lol thanks for asking and letting me fangirl * u *

It's 2021 and I've just finished watching Reply 1988 for the 3rd time since 2017, my first. The enjoyment, thrill and love for this drama is very much the same, even more. One of my fave kdrama : story, dialogues, cast and excellent acting skills, the environment and neighborhood. And today, the real relationship of Hyeri and Ryu remains stable. That's wonderful! I love them.

Better late than never, I finally watched it last week out of boredom and I can’t get over it. I miss the gang.
I started watching Reply 1988 around 2017. And I finished the drama in 4 days(which I regret. I hated the drama coz it ended too soon coz I watched it too fast haha). And now it's 2020 already but I still do re-watch the entire drama maybe for the 4th time already. The drama brings me warmth and it never changed even if I watch it over and over. It was never a regret watching the drama. It was a sad part not to have friends that you grow with. I enjoyed every episode of the drama, nothing is boring. This is the best drama for me along with Prison Playbook. It was a wonderful experience and i'm thankful to be able to watch the drama. I'm glad I found this drama.

I just finished this drama now (10-4-2021 @ 3:30pm) out of boredom knowing that it is old, but still I watched it after so many years, not hoping for anything, yet it made my eyes become a waterfalls and I learned too many lessons in life .. thank you ssamundong gang

Having been in Korea back in 1988 - 1990 this brought back so many memories. I've watched the entire series several times.
I just finished watching this drama, I'm hooked and I just can't start another one huhu. Reply 1988 earned a spot in my top list!
Actually, I started knew BoGum when I was watching Wonderful mama on 2013 , PBG play as a maknae within his siblings. He was so cute at that time, I was falling in love with him started from that drama . Then in drama Cantabile Tomorrow . After that, he also a best friend of V (Kim TaeHyung form BTS). and so on .... he's really good actor and of course good looking 😍

I just finished watching "Reply 1988" and I must say that it is truly a great kdrama. Very touching and has so many realizations that will hit you hard. The part that Jung Hwan confession is heartbreaking💔

I just finished watching this series , I really wanted Jung-hwan to be Deok-Sun husband , but I think Jung-hwan character really didn't get a good ending , and the had a very good chemistry from the first but just the writer made taek has Deok-Sun husband , it's so heartbreaking for me to watch the ending , I wanted Jung-hwan and Deok-Sun to end together , that would have made a really good ending , But it's okay I came to know that Jung-hwan and Deok-Sun are dating in real life , I'm so happy for them , this is the only K-drama that made me feel so connected to the characters from all the k-drama I have watched before 🙂

My favorite Korean Drama
I decided to not finish the 19th and 20th episodes coz I got really disappointed when it was becoming very clear that it would be Deok sun and Taek in the end. I was really rooting for Jung Hwan. It's sad that they gave Jung Hwan more screen time in the first few episodes so I was already rooting for him before Deok Sun started to have feelings for Taek. 😥😥😥 I'll maybelle finish the episodes some other time.
Still happy, at least they're in a relationship in real life😆
