Seeing this makes me appreciate TÜV here in Germany. 0 chance they would allow a glued trashcan like this on the roads.
Exactly.
Imagine paying $100k for a truck that can’t even handle being anything but a pavement princess. At least shit quality Rams can drive in sand 😂
It's either a cult, or they're just placed "viral" marketing people. I really fight the need to reevaluate my life when I see guys this this with enough money apparently to piss away on this stuff.
Everything is built to min-spec. Elon said that basically they keep removing stuff until it breaks then put that last part back in. Minimizes weight and makes it appear to his fans like it's very efficient. Only the parts necessary make it work. Of course, if you have only minimum supports/bolts/thicknesses, it shatters when you exceed those minimums.
Man you could have saved money and gotten a new F150 Raptor that would have taken that 4 foot dune like it's nothing and you'd have a truck with over twice the range, bigger inside, more comfort... on and on...
Soo, 100K for a "truck" that gets outrun by an 86 toyota??? Noooo thank you!!
Now not sure where you are at with the repairs, but you might have a bit of a problem in acquiring those parts for I stumbled on this guy on Reddit and it’s quite the eye opener to a lot of busy practices:
Escaped Tesla parts guy here. This is a very common issue for two reasons. First off, the adhesive uses for all of their badges is excessively weak (read: cheap).
Second, it's a new model. When I escaped, the plaid models s and x had been on the road for over a year, and we still couldn't get model and trim specific parts for them without having our regional parts manager get them re-allocated from the factory. For the first couple years of production, they divert all parts to the factory instead of building up an inventory of spares.
When we asked the higher-ups why we couldn't get parts for new vehicles, their response was, "You don't need parts for them because they are so well built and engineered that part will not need to be replaced yet." We told them that our backlog of appointments begged to differ. All they care about is gett the cars out of the factory door and maybe delivered to their customers. Once the customer has the car it no longer matters. As l've said for years, it's a shitty company making shitty cars.
This is sad. You could ride harder than that in any ranger, tahoe, cherokee or many other 4wds and still drive home.
It's a cult of tech bros with $100k to spend on a shit vehicle. Occam's Razor. The Internet has turned out to be pretty generally terrible overall for our collective mental health and for society.
Let me get this straight - you paid >100K for a vehicle touted to survive the apocalypse but you can't get it wet, can't trust it on the road, and if you take it off-road like you would, say, a Wrangler (1/3 the cost) or even a F150, the entire Cybertrash falls apart. If you fix it, you have to avoid the sharp edges which cut you (checks notes) when you close the door?
Sounds like Tesla got what they wanted (a sucker to buy an ugly, dangerous vehicle) and you got an ugly planter... if you can get the bed cover to open.
What a crappy truck, who is dumb enough to trust musk😵💫
Cyberdouche confirmed.
Minor jump, massive damage, and Tesla can't fix it. Pathetic. Cybertruck gets to be a bigger joke daily.
You’re wrong but Welcome back. 😊
@@dblcapcrimpinhe literally just stated facts that are in this video...
Cybertruck off-road preparation in 2 steps . These 2 steps will allow you to tackle intense off road conditions with very little effort .
1 - Sell the cybertruck
2 - Purchase F150 Raptor
😢 Cybertruck is really a sick ass truck. They should offer an “off road” fox shock suspension setup from factory instead of the air ride.
@@dblcapcrimpin Really is , watched Munro's teardown videos and does a good job explaining the strengths and weaknesses in and out. Jumping a 7k lb truck with a monocoque shell probably was never intended , but sure was fun to watch! XD I'm sure aftermarket stuff will be available soon. Best of luck with repairs!
@@whambodius Mostly weaknesses, I'm guessing. Do you work for Tesla?
@@dblcapcrimpinit's so sick that the best thing to do is put it down. My Mazda is more impressive and it's 30.
My buddy got in a minor accident with his Tesla… in the shop for six months…
That’s unfortunate. They’re easy to work on, but getting the parts is an issue at times.
@@dblcapcrimpin didn't your back wheel fall off?
@@dblcapcrimpin"nobody is a help in my area I have to go to online forums to find random uncertified reused parts. But it's really easy to work on."
You're delusional and the reason why companies get away with this shit.
It is not as tough as it seems to be
It’s not a trophy truck…
But where the sub micro acvurancy, its the dream truck from the menchild and not so genius musk
@@dblcapcrimpin Then why did you drive it llike one?
@@dblcapcrimpin I know people that flew early 90's Civics and they'd hold perfectly together. This is just unacceptable on EVERY conceivable level.
@@dblcapcrimpin It's not even really a truck, is it?
It's not internet dudes fault you bought a terribly designed Tesla. Cast aluminum frame with the whompy-wheel suspension Tesla is famous for. Congrats on getting Musked!
If the frame Crackes and Bends and is CAST Aluminum, you have an unsafe totalled car. CONGRATS all from a 4ft drop in SAND!!!
Man that thing is a real piece of shit huh? My Mazda suburban did a larger drop and only had minor body damage. It's a car. This thing is totaled. I spent literally $1k on mine.... What did you spend?
These units are garage queens only for visual pleasure only!
"Visual pleasure"...what the hell are you smoking?
Your definition of "visual pleasure" apparently differs from mine.
@@ML-lg4ky they’re super ugly tho. The couple times I’ve seen one in person I make sure they see me while I laugh at them.
I think you meant to spell "visual torture", easy mistake to make.
It is just insane that Tesla reversed their decision after you posted on Twitter about it. Another insane thing about Tesla.
Ur driving a air fryer
that seems like an extraordinary amount of damage because you dropped 4 ft into sand. did you hit bedrock or a boulder?
It wasn’t just a drop, I essentially pile drived another dune.
Yeah this was not enough of a drop to justify HALF this damage. Especially when it's an "apocalypse proof" car.
Thank you so much for posting this. I can imagine how devastating it would feel to just want to have a little fun and end up with $10k of costs and likely hundreds of hours of work and logistics. Good luck, keep us updated on the journey.
this is insurance totalled easily
Hahahahahaha hahahhahaa hahhahahaha hahhahaha how to cuuuuuuuk yourself. Hahhahahahahhahahhqhq hahahhahahahahha hahahhahaha it's windows are bullet proof hahahhaah
Full under body protection might have made a difference seems like there is only one available on the market though... solid axels would be a cool option i wonder how much a off the shelf pair would cost to fit
Full under wouldn’t have helped the rear shock but maybe some of the front damage
But musk dont care 🤑
Solid axles would ruin all the great driving qualities of Cybertruck that make it stand head and shoulders above all trucks with solid axles. The Rapto doesn't have solid axles either, for the same reasons Cybertruck doesn't. The Cybertruck is like a magic carpet ride over rugged ground, so smooth and pleasant. Just don't let that smooth ride cause you to become complacent and launch off of downward facing jumps into rising terrain and collide with the ground.
@@ZipZoomZip the newer style would handle nice looks very controlled. its just to find out now how much that fancy stuff costs to maintain. i think the cheap maintenance of solid axel matched with the stainless steal from factory is a nice match im sure it would also make the truck cheaper.. maybe musk could build a mold for the solid axel and drop the price to like 35
@@Sustainableliving333 If you want a vehicle with a solid rear axle, plenty of legacy vehicles would suit you. Buy one of those, don't nerf the Cybertruck with a crappy, outdated design. Independent four-wheel suspension for me, thank you!
If the frame Cracks and Bends and is CAST Aluminum, you have an unsafe totaled car. Aluminum especially extruded work hardens very easily. Meaning it will bend but when you bend it back the metal grain structure shatters. CONGRATS all from a 4ft drop in SAND!!!
Wow that’s some serious damage.
Tis but a scratch
Time to buy a new truck
you're in a cult
DUH, who would have thought that an electric vehicle doesn't like getting the battery too hot... Lucky the battery didn't start popping cell out the bottom on fire....
I'd love to see what a similar scenario would do to other trucks. By the way, I don't understand the level of service.
I’d do it if I was rich or had sponsors 😅
Wahou il y a un peu de travail 😢
Is the HVAC inop?
Still works but case is busted
Thank you for sharing your video of the CyberTruck fixing process. It appears to be gaining significant traction and interest. I wish you the best of luck with your project.
Thank you, bot coder, for having your bot post this message. I wish you the worst of luck as we move past this phase of humanity.
Dang dude, I came here to laugh at you but now I just feel so bad you have been so ripped off. Still love the truck tho /s
You should ask Sandy Munroe if he will sell you any of the parts from the Cyberbeast tear down he is currently doing at his facility in Michigan. Just a thought.
Definitely Sucks! If you didn’t have the skills to do a lot of this yourself it would be even worse (I know $10K Is Bad Enough) It would be nice if the folks at Tesla would reach out to you, since you’re a very early Beast owner (maybe help out more) I’m going to share this, maybe we can get Elon’s attention…(don’t hold your breath 😁)
Please tell me you were aired down?
Yes not extreme though as Tesla popped the bead drifting and I didn’t want to
Definitely shows this truck isn't ready for combat duty. Is interesting to see what broke...and what didn't. Surprised there weren't a hundred Tesla engineers showing up at your House actually. Clearly the front suspension in its entirety is in need of a big time "rugged-ization." Not sure what to make of the windshield becoming that way.
They already suckered this guy? PR agent? Into dropping $100k on this turd. Nothing of value could be gained.
god i hate touch screens that are that slow.. i cant believe people accept that in a 100k truck..
My Ford Lightning is responsive as an IPAD on the screen, Only issue I have is when the sun hits it right (SMUDGES). But I took that lightning through Deep Water, Mud Acidently went in a ditch to avoid a Rolling trailer ahead. No issue at all. Only issue is when My wife and I get in it defaults to her phone for music (I hate Techno)....
This is the best tear down vid I’ve found so far thanks for being honest.
Look harder.
That's why non-Tesla cultist call this thing for what it is, CyberStuck or CyberSuck. CyberStuck is the douchemobile of the 2020s, a snowflake version of the douchemobile of the 2000s, Hummer.
lol crazy a vehicle makes you this hurt
What kind of monster would break the half shaft and hub??!!
Prob someone that stole frunkpuppyfriday.

@@dblcapcrimpin 😞
Bro, just duct tape it back together.
You totaled the trashcan
too much fun is expensive
hopefully you'll get some of your money back from TH-cam.
Personally I think Tesla should do these repairs for free at the beginning. It should be valuable information for them too.
You spent 100k on this garbage?! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Damn. Thats what I hate about cast parts. At least its a CyberTruck :)
Or if the rear was not a casting it might be a lot harder to fix than a doubler plate.
This truck with the structural battery and the castings is very strong.
With that impact another vehicle may have bent the frame.
Just saying take care when making these judgments.
Right? Like if he tried to get this fixed at the service centers they'd tell him its totaled, no?
@@danharold3087Very strong? All kinds of shit broke on a minor impact. Cybertruck is garbage, as anyone who knows anything about metallurgy could have told you.
@@TroySavary Hitting deep sand off a four-foot drop into rising terrain at 30 mph is not a "minor impact", it's a hard collision. Sure, you can make an overweight steel behemoth that can survive that kind of impact, but then it's not going to drive like a Cybertruck, it's going to drive like a Unimog. And have all the other disadvantages that go along with that, like being slow and clumsy. Use the Cybertruck reasonably, and it will be tough as nails. The real problem was the rising ground after the drop, and the nose dropping due to the launch area not having a clean lip, instead it rounded downward. The Cybertruck nosed in pretty hard. When you play that hard, one mistake is all it takes!
@@ZipZoomZip Nearly every TH-camr who has done any real off roading in the Cybertruck has broken something. That's hardly "tough as nails". Hell, a carwash has killed a Cybertruck. This thing is a toy for techbros cosplaying as truck owners.
Sounds like a lot of good progress.
Yeah, moving along slowly. All parts (except the Tesla service center repairs) should be in by end of next week.
Your a talented dude ripping into these repairs!
Thanks for the update. These trucks are going to be used hard so you are providing everyone with a great service here. Good to see Tesla support coming through for you after the Moab instance they didn't need to but I think Tesla respects their clients and what you're doing.
You’re right, Tesla could have stuck with the initial NO on the half shaft & hub. Definitely grateful they decided to help with that.
@@dblcapcrimpin Glad they choose to help and looking forward to you having your CT back on the road/off road 🦾
Cybertruck isn’t perfect. I can live with no 4 foot jumps and no 50 cal bullet proof.
Your back and badder then ever 👍
You should ditch the front bumper and custom build an off-road bull bar. $1200 would go a long way for materials. I’m pretty sure send cut send would sponsor if you licensed them the CAD drawings.
I’m getting a custom bumper but we need the a clean full up stock to help.
Love this and everything you stand for
I hope Tesla gives you some goodwill parts discounts and uses this data to upgrade some areas of the truck.
They did cover my half shaft, hub knuckle but nothing else. Grateful for that at the least,
hahahah
@@dblcapcrimpin Still love the truck?
Once the cyberbeast is fixed you should race it against the new model 3 with insane mode.
Sure. Itll win bottom end but model 3 top speed will kill it
"fixed". That turd is totalled.
If you try hard enough you will break it. If you haven't broken it you haven't tried hard enough. Something must give.
But he didn't have to try very hard to break it.
Lol you don't have to try
