Funny enough the screen protector says is shatter resistant and what not bc it’s not even glass, it’s just another layer of plastic
Nintendium can survive a few drops but not against tools of destruction.
@@charlies_wasp it's not even plastic, it's just a film, hence the screen broke but the protector, which is supposed to be 9M rated glass adhered to a film layer so it'll only crack and not shatter

Here's the thing about medieval armor. A chestplate will stand up really good to most weapons. That's why people used big hammers, flails and clubs. A good armor might not break, but if it's tight enough the shock will still transfer through it into the internal organs and do damage that way. A helmet might be thick enough to survive some truly vicious blows, but those blows could still move around your head enough to cause a concussion. The armor might be impenetrable, just like the screen protector might help protect the screen really nicely, but the important internal parts still gets a good roughening up.

That's the thing with helmet research regarding skateboarding, the helmet might prevent fractures, but there's a twist of the brain that can cause a different, more serious concussion.
Not that I think you're trying to say this, but it should be mentioned that this does not mean armor is useless or bad. It just means that armor isn't perfectly invincible. A hammer to a helmet might cause a concussion, but a hammer to the bare head will cave your skull in.

It’s definitely a V2 or a V1, just took a look at my own oled, the Nintendo switch branding on the back is actually supposed to be on that full back stand, which would be on the lower half, whereas on his switch it’s the upper half.
Yeah I figured the internals of that switch wouldn't be fine despite the outside looking fine. It's shatter protection, not force protection.

I’m a mom who have bought my kids Nintendo switches for Christmas over the years and even had to replace a few. They ended up talking me into purchasing an Oled of my own. So I’ve done a lot of research as far as games and accessories and most of it is from watching your channel. Let me tell you I love watching your videos and this one definitely did not disappoint. Unfortunately I have to admit that I did buy the grip ones for my boxing game and you’re so right when you said WHY. But what absolutely made me laugh was when I was almost sold on that screen protector until I saw the look on your face when your switch would not come on. Keep up the good work!!

I'm actually really surprised how well the screen held up. I definitely assumed the screen would have broken from a hammer blow. I don't suspect I'll ever need that kind of resiliance but holy moly that's actually very impressive. I wonder if it would have held up to a different kind of strike, like falling face-first on a lego or something? Thanks for taking one... two... well, _several_ for the team, Wood. :)
Same, I’m actually genuinely impressed with how well the screen protector did and then I was kinda shocked when the Switch was broke and didn’t turn on.
But then I realised it’s probably unseated or broke most of the connections to the motherboard lmao

five and below is a good store, just don't by electronics. I really like the book section, some of the books are originally 20 to 30 dollar books and you get it for $5. Recently, I just found manga in there.
I’m going to disagree, but for a very specific reason. Some of the office accessory tech stuff is decent. However, I LOVE the electronics… for my children. They get neat things that are quality enough for a child and I’m not pissed off or put out if it gets broken. Especially stuff like speakers.

The headmount and the controllers for 15 dollars is a steal. They have been working 10/10 for me and the kids love it 😂😂
USB C ports cost about 4 times the cost of micro USB. When you're just going for power delivery, from a manufacturing standpoint, micro is the better choice.
Was just coming here to say this same thing. Rather unfortunate that USB-C is still as expensive as it is considering its so commonplace nowadays. We will just have to wait for USB-D instead. Lol.
As someone who used both USB C and micro USB even I love the symmetrical plug, it breaks much easyer compared to micro USB or lighting port

My favorite switch accessory is a stand that I bought at 5 Below back in 2018. It's just a simple fold out stand, wasn't even the full $5 I don't think. It's held up well and is even great for playing mobile games. Unfortunately they don't carry it anymore, nor have I found one from another brand that I like quite as much as this one.

Best Buy has a cartridge case that looks similar for $10. Theres no clips that hold the carts in but they are super secure.

could have just bought a tempered glass and stuck it to cardboard then placed the film over the glass
Did you double check if your headset may need a splitter cable for mic audio?
Also for the joycon wheel, there's a slot on the bottom of the cutout, you have to lift the joycon up from below to remove it. Even the official wheel has that design.
No joke, I bought the five below screen protector less than a month ago even though I have had my switch for 2 years. Nice to see 5 below be mentioned as I have bought animal crossing amiibos there too.
They actually have a $15 pro controller thing which I bought and it’s actually not terrible. Especially for the price.

I would have assumed the impact would have damaged the switches insides. That's common sense.
I cannot express how much I love these videos! also, maybe do a "employee of the month" wall but make it "they took one for the team" and you could have the switch's photo and the date it was broken + method.

i actually have the 2 "action grips" and i must say that it does the job. playing with a single joycon has never been much more comfortable

I actualy have the silcone cases for both the regular switch and switch lite, and the switch lite one is so much better. the grip part on the back is shaped to fit fingers, and it's really comfortable

when it comes to cheap tech you're actually better off with microUSB.
while a properly made type-C cable is best, some stingy companies use the wrong parts that end up allowing too much power to go through the cable at once frying whatever you plug it into.
microUSB however doesn't require those parts, so it's often safer unless you can trust the company that made the cable.
I did pick up that card case, but rarely use it. Probably good to have on hand for if I need to carry my collection all at once [I did go ahead and apply a Lily sticker I had available]
I had the same one, but one of the pins for the hinges fell out and wouldnt go back in without falling out again so i ditched it.

I actually bought a similar case from Amazon but in blue and holds more games. It is awesome for traveling purposes and it is very hard to get games out even with a method- however, at least it works and the games are secured and I got mine in blue so can’t complain much lol.

Almost sad you didn't get the Switch Lite case with the grips on the back! I got one after scoring a used Lite for dirt cheap and it's been pretty nice. I actually prefer it over the licensed cases I got for my kids' Lites. I keep looking at the Switch stuff whenever we go in, but now I think I'll stick with the case I already have and maybe a screen protector (though I won't hammer my Lite or my Switch 😅)

Hey man, those action grips are great. I got some on Amazon back in 2017 with my Switch. They are great for single joycon play when you have bigger hands.
They're good, But hard to get out off, they needed the hole tbh
I also have those cardholder from a different brand. They come out difficult too but i got used to it. Pretty decent case!

That looked like a V1 or V2 of the Original. (Note the bezel around the screen and the kick stand design.)

That's neither water proof, nor water resistant.
Shatter protection means it has a layer of transparent duct tape like plastic or rubber that prevents the shattered glass to fly off.
