- Hi every one back on the corvids in this one using my Weirhrauch HW 77 .177 power wise doing 11 ftlb with a 10.34 Gr JSB topped with the Pulsar C50. These birds come into the cows sheds causing problem defecating in the feed troughs and on the walls so i can legally shoot them in the UK.
I grew up on a farm in Kansas-- we did have problems with birds, raccoons and rats. They destroyed feed of all kinds and it was pricy to replace the feed. Like you we hunted them quite often. Air rifles back in the day that were affordable were not that accurate to begin with so we used .22 rifles. The air rifles that were very accurate were way out of my price range, those were almost Olympic quality, yet they were there! The problem with the .22 was the sound of the shot going off usually cleared out the rats in the barn, ran off birds, frightened livestock and worried the neighbors, so you were done for the day. People would put a scope on a deer rifle, but I never saw one on a .22 or an air rifle! Thanks for your show and the humaine way of dealing with farm pests. Best Wishes from Kansas.
Nice one pal
Excellent as always Si love the hw77 a Brilliant legendary rifle, had two of them!👍👍
100% Ste they are that
Great video and shooting again Simon.
I love my HW77 too but don’t normally give it a good run out but it’s deffo a keeper air-rifle.Mine is a .22 and it’s so accurate as well.
Great rifles
Keep the videos coming my good mate
Mark 🏴🤙
Thank you Mark as yet i should do
Still, the finest on TH-cam, Professional, clear, and so much better when you use a boinger, well done to you, won't be many that can use a springer like you.
Hope we see the 95k soon.
Thank you Phill i actually have one friend at the gun club and me and him don't half have shoot outs with our PCPs and springers lol.
You're going to cost me money mate, have many fond memories of my old HW77, and watching you at work with yours makes me want another one! ;)
Have fun!
Nice bit of shooting Simon hw97k is one well built air rifle i have one in .22 very accurate aswell I'm out on fox control tonight but got to say I enjoy your videos so thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks David and good luck tonight mate.
Nice work Simon, spot on! Thank you for sharing...👍
Thanks 👍
Had an old relium tornado .22 when i was a kid back in 70s loaded same way Simon
Brilliant guns pal back in the day
Air Arms TX 200 For me buddy all day long😊Thank you for up load😊much enjoyed regards👍👍😊😊
Ye nice rifle pal i will probably own one of them soon as well.
Nice work on the corvids mate 🎯👍
Thanks 👍
Great shooting - for such a quality air rifle is amazing that they dont have better top hats etc - as when you fit after market upgrade ie piston seals and polish every thing they sound and shoot so much better.
Ye to be fair you are right pal but in all fairness the accuracy is there straight out the box the spring guide and such just make it feel nicer but you are right.
Hey from the Catskills Simon !
Hiyaa pal
Hi mate. May have said before, I have matching pair of tuned 97s.wife has pro sport. I have taken on two people with PCP and just about won. Hard to pick between 97 and pro sport but think 97 just gets it with me. Mind you my 97s in 177 and 22 are 1990s jobs. I really think the difference counts when tuning them. I can place £1 coin on breach area and it does not move when fired. Great video again bro.
Ye 100% mate the 77 or 97 are just brilliant rifles
Great professional video Simon as usual, and Great Rifle,I've just bought the same rifle in karbine, I will probably put a drop in Tunning kit in it
Ye perfect pal that will be a tack driver for sure.
Muy buen control de plagas y muy buenos disparos y el rifle hw precisión total 👏👏👌👌👍👍🧉🇦🇷 saludos 👍
Cheers pal ye them 77s do shoot for sure.
Love to watch you work Sir! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Bernard
Is the C50 a wifi model? If so have you tried the firmware upgrade with the ballistic calculator?
It is Stephen ye but not done any up dates on it to be fair
Did I miss an Ant Hill Mob reference?😂
You just got the music today lol
Great video as usual mate.
Thanks 👍
GREAT VIDEO SIMON .. ! THANK YOU .. ! TOP OF THE DAY TO YOU MATE, CHEER'S .... !!!!!!! DOUBLE G... !!!!
Cheers mate
Hi Simon, great content as always, like yourself I’m a Center fire shooter with a love for airguns FAC,sub12 pcps and springers, I noticed a block behind your scope mounts, I take it it’s in the scope stop slot
Could you tell me more please
ATB Wayne
Ye that's an old arrester block from the 1980's which i had on a HW 80 to stop scope creep pal.
Thanks Simon 👍🏻 I’m now on the look out for my springers
Tx200 and HW95
That is an impressive springer. So was the shooting as usual.👍👍
Thank you Ridin.
Hey Simon.
You had a verry succesful day, cheers mate.
As I remember I also happen to have a Weirauch HW77 and it shoots like a Laser with JSB pellets.
I also have a Hatsan in cal.25 but it is not as accurat as the Weirauch altough it has obviously more punch.
Keep up the good work and I will think about you this evening going foxing with my Tikka .223 55 grain SBK's
Thanks Bert and good luck tonight my friend
I have had my HW77K in 22 since Christmas 1993 I am 45 years old now and still use it, it’s well tuned and ceracoated black as the blueing had seen better days, I have dropped it into a blue laminate 97 stock, it’s not just sentimental it’s genuinely one of my favourite rifles, great video Simon as always 👍
Well to be fair Andy this HW 77 is one of my favorite rifles to if i be honest.
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your latest footage, I really enjoyed watching your film. The headshots are super accurate and great seeing them come from a springer.
I was out this morning with my Ultimate Sporter R. It was a chilly, breezy morning, though I managed two squirrels. Time for the handwarmers again!
Best wishes, my friend, Ian.
Thanks Ian and ye its that time of year again now and the game season is on and again i will miss not having Jack picking up game.
Hi ther our simon 👌👍wow amazing afternoon out with the springer 😁👌you on a roll my friend i do lv that rifle sir its stunning woodstock looks amazing you make it look so easy bro i think you got all the magpies what was under the hopper bro👌😁top job amazing pi her simon lvly and clear thank you so mu h my dear friend for your time prieshate it loads my friend be safe for us all and we all see you on the next one godbless you bro👏👏👍👌👏👏😁
Thank you Darren much appreciated as usual my good friend
possibly the best airgun footage on youtube.
Thank you Brendan and much appreciated pal.
Morning Simon
Had a 77 with a Tyrolean walnut stock when they first come out in the eighties, had to sell it cuz we were on the bones of our arses one Christmas, should have kept it and sold the wife and kids instead, brilliant video as always.
Lol cheers Geoff i think we all have sold rifles we never should have
Thanks Simon great video, always a favourite place of mine on top of bales keeping dry and the Corvids not seeing you , nice shooting with that 77 👍
Thanks Alan ye ya can't beat it mate it can rain shine or snow and your dry as billy ho in there.
Good vid as usual. @9:15 Have to say I would have taken a different bird - that large aggressive one. He can take feed any time, the others will be hungry through getting hassled and more likely to take risks... Bringing them into the crosshairs more likely later on 😁
Ye cheers mate good thinking to be fair
Great video simon, the hw springers are in my opinion the best on the market, ive had most of them over the years and my favourite has to be the hw 35 and hw 99 a close second, great straight out of the box, even better tuned 👍
100% pal
Hello Simon, cracking shots as usual fella, now I’ve got my decorating done I’ll be getting out and about soon. Have a great week mate.
Nice one mate get to it although i am rained off here as yet prob will have to use another farm building lol.

Thank you my friend i suppose i have had plenty of practice 👍
My 1st rifle was a hw77k. 👌. Great video yet again. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Carlos.

Cheers pal.
Love this chanle you know your oinons Simon. I'm not far from Cheshire guns shop what would a rifle like yours with scope set me back or 1 for a beginner cheers paul
That rifle i think now new is 550 quid i think and you could put a quite good scope on for may be 300 but second hand get the lot for my be 400 pal even less.
@@simon6ppc246 cheers pal thanks getting back in touch 👍
Brilliant Simon!
Thanks Bobby
I was waiting for some quality springer action mate 😁👍
Thanks 👍
Neat stuff! 😀
Thank you.
Buenas tardes,
Acabo de suscribirme ..
Buen trabajo con el HW 77.
Con que julios trabajas y el visor que utilizas y calibre.
He visto variós vídeos con diferentes Weirauch, tienes buena colección.
Si tuvieras que elegir solo una..cual sería ? Y por supuesto óptica y calibre.
Muchas gracias !!!
Saludos
Hyia pal welcome on board that rifle was doing 15 joules around and a top scope for one would be the Element Helix and if i had to choose one it would be the one in the video with out a doubt.
Hola !!!
Y el calibre ..?
Tengo dos HW 30S y 50S en 177,estoy muy contento, pero quería otra con más potencia.
Saludos.
great as usual Simon, yep its not been much of a summer, we've had our first snow on the high tops this week ⚠
Blooming heck Gary don't mention snow just yet😂
@@simon6ppc246 🤣
Another excellent video Simon, well done.
Geoff.
Cheers mate
Im curious if you have to do anything special to these high dollar springer's out of the box
Generally, no. Many people fit aftermarket guides, which have tighter tolerances that result in less (or completely remove) any 'Twang' and generally make the shooting cycle feel smoother.
To be honest though, anything from Air Arms or Weihrauch is perfectly fine straight out of the box.
Ye i just spent another £25 on a spring guide and top hat Shane
TBT
Ye mate
Thanks for today's video Simon.
Cheers pal.
My wife mentioned that you look sad and I told her that you’re probably still missing Jack. I’m certain that you are and so are the rest of us. Does it look like you might get another dog?
I shouldn't really say this on here Kevin but my mother had died suddenly last week.
@@simon6ppc246 oh crap we’re so sorry for your loss.

Hi Simon, another great video. Please excuse my ignorance but what does LRF mean as regards scopes please. Take care.
I do have a Hw97k springer with cheap hawke scope but looking for an upgrade, any suggestions, got roughly £500 budget 👍.
LRF= Laser Range Finder
£500 to upgrade your gun or your scope..?
Ye as above pal.
@@mutasimaldory The scope mate, only got cheap hawke scope currently thanks for info.
@urbanfox53 Depends on what you're going to use your setup for..?
For that sort of money you have a lot of good options, new (from the likes of Veyron, Element or MTC) or used (Leupold would be ideal, but beware a lot of fakes; you could even get a decent Sightron for that kind of money)
I got a Riton X7 Conquest for £399, usually retails well over £1100, but these were the limited run of non-illuminated scopes that are not available anymore; I personally think it's a great scope! And it is what sits on my own HW97K .20 currently, my .22 has a Nikko Sterling Diamond on it that I will change over to a Meopta for the winter.
If it's for your HW97 then it's safe for me to guess you're not looking at high-level Field Target competition, but if you are into HFT then the Leupolds are definitely among the favourites in that price bracket; if you're more into plinking/daytime shooting then stick with a conventional (optical) scope, they're clearer and much easier for a new comer.
If, however, you will be shooting in gloomy barns or after it's dark, then a (digital) night-vision setup like a Hikmicro Cheetah or a Pard is your best bet for that money. Hikmicro have just brought out their 3.0 range, so the basic and 2.0 versions will tumble in price (new and second-hand) from the ~£700 range down to your budget, and I absolutely love my Cheetah 2.0 on my PCPs as well as my springers. The older Alpex will also now be pretty much obsolete, so you may be able to get a new old-stock for less than £500, or a used 4k version (about £750 new) if you're lucky..more than enough for your purposes.
You'll never get a (decent!) thermal scope for that money, but you may be able to get a usable thermal spotter that - coupled with an IR scope - can be a great way to combine all three methods into one easily carried package.
Good luck!
Looks like ole Brutus has it made!😎
He looked happy when he wandered off Jay 😂
@@simon6ppc246 Well I would be too if I was him! 😎. Keep up the great content brotha.👍👍
