I have watched a lot of movie reactions here and I think yours is one of the most genuine, Jordan. I love how you react almost the same way as I do, cried as much as I did. When you said “A man can be emotional too.” I was like aww, there's no need for an explanation, it's normal to cry especially with this kind of movie regardless of what gender you have. 😊
I remember you asking about the gift I like, but for me I would rather not have one. Just because the expectations you need to carry day by day are insane, not to mention if what you're really going to get is a gift or a curse.
Imagine getting the ability of Pepa and how complicated it is for the weather to depend on your mood, or Dolores's that you can hear everything without meaning to. How about you? Do you have anything you like, or do not like?

Honestly, looking at the end, it’s cool to have a flashy gift, but Mirabels gift is the most special to me. The fact that’s he’s the key to keeping the family together, and the journey she went through to realize that. Such a good lesson there

Lin-Manuel Miranda did an awesome job with the songs in the movie. Fun fact Stephanie Beatriz was pregnant when doing her lines and her last day of recording her parts she was having contractions and didn’t tell anyone. The next day she had her kid.
Great reaction video. Thank you for saying it's ok for a person to cry. Our society has often made it seem wrong for people to cry or show tender emotions, especially males. I was raised in a family where we didn't talk about our emotions and we're not encouraged to show sadness (no crying around others, even at a family members funeral) and it has been difficult for me to overcome. Thankfully my husband is a man who was raised in a home where this was ok to do and has been encouraging to me to talk about my pain & depression and allow the tears even though I fight them so hard. We want to raise our kids so that they know we may not always understand everything they are going through or even agree with them but they are always loved and we are here for them. Breaking the cycle that my mom was raised with and raised me in.

Thanks for reacting to this. Agree it’s one of Disney’s better movies. The colors, the music, the beautiful representation of Colombia. They really did their homework as the music represents multiple Colombian genres, the diverse heritage, the food, the textiles and clothes, the flora and fauna are pretty accurate. Colombia is the land of magic realism as manifested in this movie.
If you don’t speak Spanish, watch the song with Abuela’s back story with subtitles. The symbolism is beautiful in Dos Oruguitas. It was a beautiful performance at the Oscars too. One of the few bright moments in the show. th-cam.com/video/x3Dl8K6RBcc/w-d-xo.html

Awww... thanks for sharing the tears big guy. It takes a real man to cry to animation. If you want to cry again there's an older Disney movie called The Fox and the Hound that rips me in half every time. Great video brother!

One of those movies I remember well from childhood, and can't rewatch because I know I'll bawl the whole time and I don't want to do that to myself. Rewatched All Dogs Go To Heaven and learned my lesson. LOL
The marauders are an ongoing threat in Colombia as well as other Central and South American countries. This is how Abuelo Pedro died. The themes in the film are part of "magical realism" in Colombian culture (flowers, butterflies, candles). Colombian Nobel Prize winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez features these themes in his books and films.
You may want to re-watch the film to pick up on some subtle details, such as Dolores covering her ears as the crowd cheers for Antonio during his gift ceremony. There is also a scene where she knocks on the wall to let Bruno know dinner is ready. She also mentions at the end that she was aware of Bruno the entire time, and again during the song "We Don't Talk About Bruno" about hearing Bruno within the walls.
Not only did Mirabel not get a gift and had to stay in the nursery, but it happened only a few months after her cousin Camilo's ceremony. I think that had to make it even worse. Little kids are so sensitive to others getting "more" than them.
such a good reaction! you cal tell you are genuine and I love that. Only 1 criticism. Talking over the movie, I would have loved it if you paused when you needed to talk, because you wont miss things, and it will be less of a sensory overload. For me, hearing you talk AND the movie makes me not really able to focus on either

When you added the Loki shot there was a very loud noise which wasn't very pleasant. Otherwise a good reaction. This is my favorite animated movie and possibly favorite movie ever, so putting it in your top 10 Disney movies doesn't seem that bold to me. 😛
There's so many details in this movie, every frame is packed with stuff. I've watched this many times and seen probably 50 reactions to it and there's always more to see. Like how you can see Bruno sneaking around in the background three times in Dolores part of We Don't Talk About Bruno. How the section of the same song where they all sing together is called a Madrigal. How Dolores little squeaks are part of a language created by the slaves brought to Colombia, as is Mirabel pointing to the present with her mouth when she's under the bed with Antonio. How Mirabel has a symbol for every family member sown on her skirt. How you can foreshadow every characters really feels by their facial expressions.
It's okay to cry, I shed tears every time I watch it despite how many times I've seen it. If movies didn't make us feel something, what's the point?
when Mirabel freezes time after the photo is taken after Antonio gets his gift, my head cannon is that freezing/controling time is her gift, the Casita just didn't realize or acknowledge it at her ceremony because she didn't ever try to use it except for that one time.
