It's time for Roland to take the JUNO up to this level. Love the touch screen and on board controls. Patches are great too.

There is something a bit off about trying to be a keyboard guitar player!
I own a Krome EX, and if you delve into the sound creating possibilities, this synth is extremely deep - offering much more than many casual keyboard players could deal with!
But, ANY modern synth should be able to create some amazing unique sounds - it's just down to design, costs and brand loyalty!

i recently bought this board, overall i liked this instrument. it has a nice UI and sounds good.but in my opinion yamaha mox or even mx(tried the mx recently) have overall better sounds. when i say better, i mean they sound more warm, realistic and closer to the original instrument. but surely this is a nice instrument to play with

Funny thing is the abundance of amazing leads and pads on the Krome won me over...and the huge screen and simple interface. I friend of mine has both Motif XS8 and MOXF6 and you're right - their acoustic sounds are beautiful. Sadly the MOXF6 which was in my budget has the cheapest screen I've ever seen...like a toy casio. And I don't like the basic pitch/mod wheel setup. I wish the Krome let you edit waveforms though, I'd love it if it had that. And a better keybed xD

    • @playurmuzic
      @playurmuzic 9 ปีที่แล้ว

Yash Chauhan Yeah, Korg krome has a much better approach when it comes to patch editing. but the funny thing is, I still prefer the string and flute sounds from my Yamaha PSR E413 over the krome and I use both of them for my live concerts. I have ordered yamaha MX49 recently and am quite impatient to get my hands over that board :)

    • @cosmic_gate476

Sounds like a Korg Triton and the setup looks the same too.
Still can't find a synth that sounds like a Mellotron except the digital Mellotron which is pricey for the limited sounds it DOES have, but I guess that's the way to go, if I want 60s and 70s sounds.

I have few queries related to sampling & Midi.First of all is there any possibility to play Mp3 or wave file directly on Krome or on a sequencer mode.2) Why Midi files don't sound properly after rendering out as it sounds properly while recording software tracks on any DAW. I mean what's the use of midi files when am unable to get the proper sounds as we hear during the recoding of any midi track on a Daw like Logic pro but when I export to .midi files the sound gets muffled then what's the use of midi when am unable to store my Midi backing track using software instruments which is same as midi only on Logic pro.
    3) Is it possible to play the Wave or mp3 format of loop on Krome.
Pl help us out will grateful to you.

    • @museonfilm8919

There's a piece of freeware called Kromatic, which allows you to load your own wav samples into bank F.
Also, some great patch collections (with new multisamples) can be found on the web.
Korg editing is extensive, so even with basic waveforms, you'll be able to create unique and wacky sounds.

Its translation in excellent tone that has been presented in this video gives us more acclaim what may come in the next keyboards models especially this brand competitor korg international market .. yes I do it every time I play keyboards checking out a a what the tone and the most appropriate tone for a song and or personal presentation where I can see the Qua at my disposal between what is present to the public warm to moderate tones through tastiest and sensitive and also by more perceptible at one audition and smoothness and more floating middlemen that give more flavor even to class refinements played in keys to the scientifically calculated cold in a classic range of supernatural Pianos and timbres in common .. Not passed me off to Cathedratic performance Cesar Camargo Mariano nor Peter .. just an announcement .. unica ministry composers maetros at what they do that make us think of a Kromme 73, though, the intermediary and that comes after the own brand of excellent hearing sounds like these saw ..

The only thing that Korg has the edge at... are the Drum sounds and a few Syn., Pads, and only a few Strings. Yamaha has the best strings. If you are looking for some nice Drum loops, this is a nice board...!!!! If not, go with Yamaha XF.

Well, after decades on evolution of workstations, still same shit ... but yep depends on the consumer what the manufacturer packs into the box.
I still believe - better do an instrument with TEN sounds, that are superb, instead of 2000 boring sounds.
But i understand, its question of taste- differt people, different expectations.
Ah i am gonna play my guitar now. thank you.

If you could only order the ten sounds you need. I totally agree with you. I am trying to decide what to buy. Don't need most of it. Need great piano, harp, pads, flutes, nylon guitar....

It's a shame (or deliberate???) that you can't get one with a good engine, but no samples, that simply lets you load an SD card or USB drive with a bank of samples to use for the evening, and purchase the desired samples (or make your own), prepped for the board, like you would for a soft synth. At least, something in the mortal price range.

I really wanted to like the Krome...desperately....I tried sincerely...but with each new demo I listened to,the more it sounded like a toyish shit-box.The primary issue with the Krome,is that 2.8 GB's of this board,is devoted to just pianos and probably another GB of sample memory goes to the drums. So essentially, you've got Kronos quality pianos,e.pianos and drums & everything else is embarrassing & sickening to listen to.

Actually,I must revise my previous statement about the Krome(after hearing Dan Stesco's Krome Sound Packs...such as his Vintage Synths Pack and his Jean Michel Jarre sound pack.)Due to his genius programming, the potential of the Krome(apart from the pianos & drums)..is revealed to me,in terms of what the Krome can do,synth-wise.
Also...I found out that the Krome has the M3 sound engine and there is some M3 presets in the Krome(some of which, are from the Xpanded sound set, that had come with an M3,via a USB stick.)Unfortunately though....most of the demo's on TH-cam,do not reveal the Krome's hidden assets.I actually ordered a Krome 73 key Platinum keyboard today and once I receive it and get familiar enough with it,I will do my best to demonstrate the Krome's good points,in a series of videos.

+Arif Huseynov no usually with workstations you must connect them to speakers such as amps, studio monitors, or etc. Anything that has a 1/4" jack as a input.

You always hear that Yamaha has better overall sound, (heck, I've said it), but a lot of smart professional musicians who I admire prefer this brand it over Yamaha maybe because you can do deeper editing to personalize your sound, and Yamaha is too clean, manicured and 'corporate' sounding; you end up sounding too much like everyone else w/their brand. I'm always looking at Korg because, Herbie Hancock, Lyle Mays use it, the late Joe Zawinul used it, and I think they made the first successful workstation.

JudeJaded15 I hear you on that point, but remember artist boards are not the same as the production boards that you and I buy. If they are endorsed by korg, they will play Korg, but if they like the sounds of the motif....you better believe the people at Korg will add those sounds to that board.

keyoflife24 I've been on korgs since the N264, and it still performs great with my Triton Extreme 76. When my koin comes in, I must grab that Kronos 88 which reminds me of the Triton Extreme on crack, steroids, alcohol and beer.

Korg editing is usually deep. They have a cool thing called AMS (alternative modulation source)
So, pretty much every aspect has an AMS source, meaning you can patch it like a modular synth, and do clever pitch tracking effects to make it sound less digital.
