at 3 mins in im not getting the results you are but theres not a great explanation there either. My flag isn't turning the same way

Are you having problems when copying reflect?
select the object - press O (for reflect tool) - click and drag the object in the opposite direction while pressing SHIFT + ALT.
Shift = functions to lock the moved object so that it remains straight
ALT = functions to duplicate the moved object.
