Good review. I really enjoyed this. I think the revelation that the Shi-ar from issue #1 were David 's brothers in disguise was a awesome plot twist. I see your point of view when you say you wanted to see the Avengers in their prime. Jonathan Hickman writes with a science fiction sensibility. He likes to have cutting edge science with characters who age. I can tell he is influenced by the NEW UNIVERSE. His current Ultimate books takes place in real time with no sliding timescale. If he set it in the present he wouldn't be able to have such high stakes for the characters without it effecting current continuity. I look forward to your reviews of the next two issues. 👌👍
Thanks for stopping by and checking out the Vid homeslice 🤜🤛 I'll have to check out Hickmans Ultimate book. I'm glad Marvel is allowing the characters to age. The sliding time scale bit has become a bit stagnant. I am hoping for a bit more Avenger/Xeno Action in the issues to come
@ChrisMacPresents Me too👍👌All the current Ultimate books are set in "real" time including the books not written by him. Ultimate Spider-Man is the only book written by Hickman. You should check out Ultimate Invasion mini series( Jonathan Hickman and Bryan Hitch) for all the world building first.
