Ah, what a blessing to find out that Rachel is one of the 36 people that have keeping the world from ending...whether she realizes it or not ;-)
It is another blessing to hear the story of her big football player-type male medical doctor student that has the feminine compassionate heart.
Since I have been calling for the Descendants of Faher Abraham to come together with the mandate that Jews, Christians and Muslims all have to "Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, mind and soul...and to love our neighbors as ourselves,"
Rachel is the meek and poor in spirit leader that fills herself with the Jewish Khabala (so?) and knows the same ways were given to the spiritual leaders and healers of the indigenous global tribe in Grandmother Spider's web...we are the modern tribe from ancient threads carrying the pearls and seeds of the wholeness of life.
Rachel is a physician whose's orders I can follow as a global Good Samaritan nurse and serve families without being insubordinate!
What would you do if an MD, that was training a student, gave you the order to go into the room of a wife and husband and send the husband out so h could go in and coherce the woman into having all the high-risk equipment applied to her even though she was having no physical indications that her baby or her were in distress. He said to his student and in my presence, "Divide and conquer!"
The couple were educated, physically fit, had a written birth plan that there doctor had agreed to involved in the labor that would result in the birth they had been preparing for.9 months.
I went into their room and related the MD's order and told them I was their advocate and would not divide them and that I would stand with them.
Between that and the group of other OB-Gyn night staff and their Night Nurse House Supervisor friend that thought it was just fine to smoke at the nurses' desk, I did not last too long in that job. They did not like the health education poster that I hung up with a pregnant mother smoking and the heading, "Some people can choose to smoke and others can't. Protect the rights of the unborn."
When I requested a meeting with the OB-GYN medical group, I was asked to switch departments in the hospital. I chose to leave instead the hospital system and devote my time to the legalization of midwifery and safe alternatives for childbirth in Kansas.
That was in 1979.
The rest of my 40+ years of nursing practice centered around healthy families-healthy communities and weaving support where systems have holes or major stakeholders operating from their silos without knowledge or benefits of all the best practices and resources that exist to help them provide the best very frugally.
That is the area where my opinion differs from Dr Rachel's. The current science and technology finally exists to weave the connections to best practices for mental health, substance use disorders, dementia care, and healthy lifestyle support needed to prevent, rehabilitate and thrive in the presence of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, MS, Parkinson's, cancer, ...
Wellness Weavers is my final faith community nursing capstone project.
I am a Bioneer and a member of the Association of Applied and Therapeutic Humor as well as certified since 1988 as an Exercise Specialist by the American College of Sports Medicine and one of 13 Nurses in Kansas trained to be Childcare Health Consultants.
The local community and county where I migrated to due to high speed Internet access and affordable real estate and my immediate family do not value who I am on their team so I must weave a bigger web and my own safety net.
The generation above me lived and blessed who I am on the team and they also were connected to the Source of all life. That allows me to keep going. Hearing Dr Rachel say once you have been blessed, it can't be undone, was a gift that I needed to hear.
Waterville, Kansas is one of the 8 pilot projects in the emerging "new MAN", yet even they have each been very busy so we will see if I can actually get them to take the World Class ACT, Acessible Care Trial survey monkey assessment and enrollment tool.
If you see the compassion and ironic humor that the US Leading Health Indicators have gotten worse over the years. I first read the CDC's Healthy People 1990 Initiative in 1979. I asked myself what I could do locally to help the nation make that deadline. Since the deadline keeps being extended and now we are seeing "Healthy People 2020, I am apparently not the only health professional that is falling short of the collaborative engagement with the stakeholders and those we think we are serving.
Cisco WEBEX just launched a program with UCSF Nov 16 that has a software platform for education and collaboration and tele-medicine that is HIPPA Compliant...combined with the global web of health care professionals and people that do want to be well and live well with access to best practices and linking people with the resources that they need to live healthy and well in their home communities or to find their home community is wise use of the science and art of health and the quantum physics of love and healing that does happen heart2heart...even with the free GPS OS of the intention of love and prayer.
The Internet is like training wheels for those that cannot fathom unconditional love, forgiving themselves or able to trust those that hurt them or who are different from them in one or more external ways.
Even those that learned and lived with the greed and evil attitude of "hurt others before they can hurt you", "trick others out of their resources if they do not fully understand the contract", or "it's every man for themselves" have the chance to change and learn to listen to the GPS OS of God, the Mother-Father, that is good and will help them be a force for good so they also feel forgiven and have access to what they need to heal.
Wellness Weavers is the Wellness Oriented Mutual Aid Network of all that do want to be the change that we want to see at work in the new world order.

The Creator (Shiva Shakti) was aware of tumult on their special planet, earth. Earth home to the magic of water, soil and sunlight combining to bring plants into being, earth the envy of all known planets. This beautiful refuge, for nature, is sickly. the earth would likely go on, the humans and other beings may not. Shiva/Shakti could have come to earth, for just seeing these celestial Lords would raised spirits, cleared thinking, and immediately would have helped things, but soon as they would have been recognized, people were likely to say, “the lord is here, we just need to get out of His (and Her) way.” it would have given a wrong disempowering message. So Shiiva Shakti sent Naomi Rachel Remen, in their stead, representing. She is a loving, humble, fully alive, inciteful and effective observer of the landscape.
This talk, first organized 7 years ago, sounds custom made for this current era. Rachel’s loving intention,to heal the world, and the attention she devotes to this task, to inspire and guide all others, herself included, to never give up, to keep a compassionate heart, supports her mission to lovingly empower us, or, more accurately, to show us how to loosen and remove things that block the full expression of our inner sun, love. As we get our individual pieces of the puzzle in order, we may join together with others and send our blessings to heal the beings in the field we all share, as caretakers of the earth. I value her presence at this critical juncture in human history. I get by with a little help from my friends, and they get by with a little help from me. god bless us all, everyone. May the god within us all become known, such that we see God in ourselves and in each other. May friendliness and forgiveness, to self and others, break out!
I have never met Rachel in person, met her only through her books and talks, yet trust and value her as my friend. Having this “relationship” with her creates a template for me to hold space for connections with others whom I may never meet in person, but who I can work in concert with, so we may operate as One, realizing One Divine Energy with different names, but One Essence. The Good Lords, Shiva and Shakti, turned their gaze towards a favorite testing ground, known as earth. It was a rotating sphere, journeying around the star at the center of it’s orbit, called the sun. The earth was Shiva/Shakti’s energy canvas, a stage upon which a reality show like no other took place, every moment, of each quanta of time. Waves danced towards shore, playing with the wind, gently sandblasting rock outcroppings, that gradually revealed their innermost presence, over the course of centuries. In what felt like an eternal ebb and flow, the unbelievably lucky, surely blessed beings of the incredibly lush planet of the water of life, were faced with a dilemna. After 10,000 years of agriculture and 300 years of craftily created machines with which to work the land, sea, and air, the human beings clearly were kings of the dominion, of all they saw. They had overlooked a few things. While they were fighting to determine who was the top Apex ape, they they had neglected carefully observing the condition and needed maintenance of the oceans and land masses and air, the sky itself. They were Lourdes if they are dominion, but it appeared to be a dying dominion. The landmass is the ocean the air the sky they would go on. What wasn’t clear whether the beings, the human beings would. focus on, for the sake of themselves and others, all beings. The apex engineers, humans, lived their lives , placed one foot before the other, focused with one-pointed carefully, looking like a faint blot a taught wire so high they couldn’t see ground. their infinite wisdom, didn’t wish to upset the delicate balance
