While there are several ways to summit Wright Mountain in the San Gabriel Mountains, this route from Inspiration Point is my favorite. You’ll follow the spine known as the Blue Ridge, which is packed with views of the surrounding high peaks, and you’ll get to experience the iconic PCT along the way. It’s also one of the rare hikes in the area that traverses Angeles NF and San Bernardino NF on the same trail.

I remember doing this a few years ago, more on the road than on PCT, but yeah, a great scenic hike! I especially love the parts along the north slope where the pines and firs get quite large, and the ones on the other side are wind-flagged! I've also done the "short version" last year from Guffy, and once from Guffy to Wright and Pine Mtn! Blue Ridge is NEVER boring!!

Yea, it's amazing how different the north and south slopes are along this stretch, some really huge trees in the cooler areas on the north slope. 👍

I especially liked the map at the end showing the trail along with your verbiage of what to see when in a certain part of the trail.

I always thought the flag was the summit, till I saw your video. Inspiration Point to Wright Mtn was especially exceptional this time of year. Met a lot of PCT hikers on their way to Canada, well that's the plan, so they say. I did take that stretch of Blue Ridge as you recommended just before Guffy, and yes, it's a heart stopper. Love your attention to detail HG, hope to see you on trail.
