Hiiiiii!! You're back! 😄 Missed you, and Yaaay, you look amazing! Rested and glowing. Great plans for your channel 👍 I'm glad you see your viewers as your knitting family. As a viewer, I feel the same. I appreciate your "accountability" plan. I feel that too. I also have olive, light blue, and mustard in the wings for sweaters, so your plans are hugely inspiring me. In fact, I'm admitting to myself that some yarns in my stash are no longer worthy of my energy, which is an unexpected relief. Some of those yarns never were worthy, but they were on sale! Please make a beret for yourself; you would look exceptionally cool in it, like the next level of 😎 ness. I knit socks in tandem, also. That way, the heel turn is reinforced learning, and you never, ever have only one sock. 🥳 😘
I love so much about this comment! Namely that you are realizing that some yarn in your stash needs to go! Hahah! Okay I feel like I have to make a beret just because of your use of that emoji! Ahhahaha
Planning videos are so much more interesting than everything I did in the last year ones I think. Great ideas.. I’d never thought of doing Maywick in a single colour. Very inspiring.
Hi Maggie, I just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying your video's. I am so impressed by you! My husband is an internal medicine physician and I know how hard you work. We had our first child when Ron was a first year resident and our second child during his third year. Now 34 years later I still remember those busy years!!! Thank you for the great content. I also really enjoyed the video with your Mom. You are inspiring and look forward to spending more time watching you!!
Oh amazing! Well very open to any advice from someone who has been through this! It is definitely hard! I’m so glad you enjoyed my mom - she is just the best!
I'm so happy to see you. Glad you are doing well. Motherhood suits you, you are glowing with happiness. I got so much inspiration from your podcast. I wonder, as you knit your projects if you could talk a little bit about the ease of understanding and following the pattern, if it would be good for a first time or intermediate knitter. Thank you getting back to us. Take care, sleep well😉
I'm also a knitter, spinner, avid reader and working first time Mum. Having a new baby is amazing but *such* a huge adjustment/shock to the system. Knitting podcasts kept me sane during long hours of cluster feeding in the early days, and it makes me so happy every time one of your videos pops up 😊 I love that you don't shy away from talking about what's going on in the real world too - it was a pretty crazy year last year and sometimes it's a relief just to take a minute and acknowledge what's happening. Really looking forward to seeing more of you this year - keep up the good work but also don't forget to look after yourself, because Mumming is HARD 💕
Awww Rebecca thank you so much for your kind words and solidarity! It can be incredibly isolating being a new mom and it is nice to know that others are going through that shock to the system too! Also thank you for saying that you like when I talk about real world topics - I honestly can’t help myself!
Love your podcast, happy to have found it! I work as a registered nurse and like you I love both reading and knitting 🥰 on top, our first child was born in October 2021 😅☺️❤️ looking forward to following your year of 2023 here on TH-cam! All the best// Anna (Love your Yell!)
Nice to see you back! I enjoyed listening to your plans for this years knitting projects. I also really want to knit through my stash this year, and buy much less. I also plan on knitting Pitch! I thrifted a large quantity of Knit Picks Wool of the Andes worsted in a kettle-dyed burnt umber color. Can't wait! I also have many other more complex sweaters (colorwork, cables, lace) in my To Knit list for this year. Its going to be so good!
Nice to see you back and rested! The “skeins” of unspun wool are called plates, I believe. My daughter’s going off to college next year (it happens faster than you think!) and I’m planning on giving her a sock per month box- so I need to step up my sock game! I am also planning on doing a read along with my daughter and we’re following the prompts from a bookstore in St. Louis (not anywhere near me) called The Novel Neighbor. Hope to do those 12 books plus one of my own each month. Looking forward to seeing all your projects.
Oooh that sounds amazing - what a lovely way to stay connected with your daughter. I can’t wait until Edie and I are able to connect in that way - I just want to know what she is thinking! I’ll have to look at the prompts for the book club! Plates!! I knew there was a word hahahah
I really appreciate you leaving the images up whilst you show and tell the yarn and pattern. Great to look at the pattern, the yarn, the pattern, the yarn... 😊
You keep me inspired!! Love your 2023 list. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the Soirée knit up. That yarn combination is exqusite. I think I need to add that to my queue. I am starting 2023 off with Snowy Forest in Biches & Buches Le Gros Mohair.
Happy New Year! I remember when my first child started sleeping through the night…..wow, how did I get through…….you just do. Thanks for hanging out and I look forward to more in the future.
Welcome back, you look well rested - yay! I’m curious about what you do with the books you’ve read - keep forever? Share, donate, etc? I much prefer a paper book over electronic, but I keep very few, in the interest of minimizing, but also don’t want to be wasteful.
Ooooh great question - books that I LOVED and feel like they changed my life or I may want to read again I keep. I have a fairly large collection of those haha. I also weirdly keep most of my fantasy because I hope my kids will want to read them someday. I think fantasy is something that transcends time/place so I hoard them! The vast majority of my books though I give to friends as gifts! Usually I will read it and will be like oooooooh this person would LOVE this and I give it to them. Other than that I get a lot of books second hand - one of my fav bookstores near my house is a used bookstore that will let you trade and I trade books that I didn’t love/don’t have a person I would recommend the book to!
Well yay! There you are 😊. I've waited patiently knowing you'd pop up sooner or later (just as I'm knitting on my Boogie sweatshirt the 'Coombe') to share so much jaw droppingly beautiful yarn and those wonderful pattern choices. You look refreshed, great to see you back.
Yay, thank you! So wonderful to connect with you - feel very grateful to have friends that keep coming back even with months of radio silence. Happy knitting!
Yes! good to see you 😊. Maggie you look so well. Your podcast plans sound great always happy when you pop back up your mix is so enjoyable.
