Lego Batman is an example of how downbad some FromSoft fans can get.
I love the details on the guns to make them "fit" into the world, with the rust, the rubbons and the scarlet rot degradation on the M4, I love it .

The mod uses the existing texture for the pulley crossbow. It looks better than the actual m16 texture imo. Same with the remington.

The shotgun feels good and appropriate.
Sad that the M16 is not full automatic.
It looks like an M16A2 to me and I'm almost certain the A2 could only do 3-round bursts and semi-auto, so it makes sense.
full auto is a waste of ammunition anyway, you run the mag empty in 30s

@@magpie3070 Funnily enough they REALLY can't make up their mind on that, A1 was full auto, A2 replaced the full auto with 3 round burst, then the A3 went BACK to full auto, and the A4 went back again to burst. Though the weirdness is a result of procurement and intention, the A3 was a rather low quantity adoption upgrade of the A1 the Navy bought for the SEALs, and the A4 was an actual upgrade of the A2 so it kept the burst fire from the A2.

Soldier of Godrick using guns is actually canon in the lore, in the item descriptions it says how Rick tries to suppress his true powers or else the entire existence of the Lands Between would cease, so to limit his powers, instead of using his world shattering greatsword, he opts to use his trusty Remington Model 870 Express 12 Gauge Shotgun in order to keep the Outer Gods in line.

as someone who plays a modern soldier type with the pulley crossbow, the jar cannon, the one eyed shield, and pots for grenades, i have to say, this looks really really fun!
I'd like it too but man, farming all those resources sounds nightmarish.

Just checked it is. Is it any good? I remember playing up until you get inside the building from when the game starts, you get some guns meet some npcs pick a class and then I never went back to it.
The models are so nicely done I would actually accept them officially. They would just have to be unrealistically ineffective so they would not completely make the bows and crossbows redundant. So yeah basically they would again have to be very boring old slow muskets like in other RPG's. I guess the M16 could get a fantasy revamp and do damage very fast similar to the Crystal Barrage spell or something. 🔫🏹
what could also be done is not allow magic shit stuffed in the guns. bows and crossbows get bleed bolts, sleep arrows, magic tipped stuffs, and ash of wars. guns get no ash of wars, or special ammo. just brass and gunpowder. you could even balance it by making guns do less flinch than crossbows, so you cant stun with rapidfire.
a one shot black powder pistol would be pretty cool they have a cannon so why not
Or have the gun be a drop from an incredibly hard boss, perhaps an arquebus or something along those lines. Give it a reasonably long reload time to counterbalance it's one powerful shot.

Gun design is very fitting with ER world.
And then there is Bladewolf.
They both modern weapon models. A musket or literal boomstick would be more fitting for Elden Ring's world.

It's amazing Elden Ring is more accessible for modding than any previous Fromsoft game. Considering how good DS3 Convergence and DS2 Seeker of Fire is I'm hella excited to see what whole-game-scale mods will come out for this game in the next few years after the DLC(s) are out
