I just got into Goth music about 5 years ago after my wife passed away and I have to say that goth music has a very special charm. I don't think I could describe it but I feel it deep inside just as much as I feel deeply the cold wave or dark wave music and a few other different genres of music that really hit me in the soul. I loved the music. The fashions were a bit extreme, some people pulled it off but it wasn’t for everyone. I tried and just kept to myself and still kind of that way now. Music is so pure and even the cheesy 80’s songs are so precious to me, it never ceases to amaze me that I can transport back to that time within seconds of listening to some old Depeche Mode or The Cure. It takes me at least 5 to 10 minutes to get my lighting situation just right to settle in and listen in to goth music, so anyone who says goth is about simple darkness and not shadows hasn't ever played amateur lighting technian just to listen to a playlist. I think the most obvious thing here under this mix and other goth genres that speak to romanticism is that the music makes us feel so much when we listen to it, we crave to find others that feel the same way, we don't necessarily care that others are there with us but to simply to just to enjoy that feeling. This is truly a world music genre as it speaks to a common feeling we feel, and have, and crave as it is the closest we have to humanity/being truly human, when we listen to this melancholic but at the same time belonging music ......i love many genres of music but this always makes my nerves tingle and my heart sing...no matter if i am down or am i up.....its the genre we always return to....wonderful mix....love it!

When you realize there is no age or generation in this simulation of feeling like we’re all there in the clubs listening to this, then my friend you are truly free from time because you now know the truth. We’re all young in our hearts forever who appreciate this lamented melody.

Jim Gray was/still is, my favorite Goth artist. He is 57 now and some say he has nine lives. Frontman for Edmonton Alberta Canada band Darkroom..he later went to Germany to be in a tv series there which I think was a German/Canadian co production. When you realize there is no age or generation in this simulation of feeling like we’re all there in the clubs listening to this, then my friend you are truly free from time because you now know the truth. We’re all young in our hearts forever who appreciate this lamented melody.

This music added the elements of "skip and hop" to the dance floor. Very indicative of '80s new wave alternative.
great tracks
Thank you my dear 🦇🖤
Jim Gray was/still is, my favorite Goth artist. He is 57 now and some say he has nine lives. Frontman for Edmonton Alberta Canada band Darkroom..he later went to Germany to be in a tv series there which I think was a German/Canadian co production. He played the older brother vampire to the central character. The short lived series was called "The Little Vampires". Check it out.
That Blackness track …beauty
