Malls were a place for people to get together for many reasons. It was something to do. I was thinking that malls could be saved but I guess this one can't.
Why would you want apartments on busy hall road. It’s already congested enough. No offense. There is already apartments on the other side of hall road.
I applied for a job in that mall in 1975 and s was being built. Construction was going on, no elevators or escalators were running and I remember seeing the large sections of what was to be the new three story water slide. I was applying for a job at Friendly Ice Cream shop but didn’t get the job due to no experience. Bought my wedding dress from J.C . Penny’s in 1980.
I remember ice skating there in the late 70’s - early 80’s… Last time I visited with my youngest daughter last year, it was a ghost town. Not surprised, but sad to see it go.
They should keep this mall . Shame on them for closing. I take my grandson there to see the best Santa's and we love shopping there . Just something else to take away from us .
Wow. Lakeside might have been the best mall in the state in the 80s and into the 90s. So…I’ve asked before but have not gotten an answer: why is lakeside a ghost town but twelve oaks is doing fine? They used to be virtual mirrors of each other. Other than partridge creek…
So what happens to all the wood, furniture, light fixtures, sculptures etc in that more than 1 million square feet? In a landfill? Great way to protect our environment!
It's an area with a huge amount of immigrants. They'll keep migrating them into the area. The traffic is insane already. Have no idea how they're going to pull this off.

I'm truly so disappointed this was one of the most beautiful and smalls that I got a chance to see 4 years ago.😢
Can you all release that older footage of the mall. Footage online is limited.

That guy thinking that 6,000 people are going to move right in.. Good luck guy.
probably $4,000 a month rent, you know, affordable
If the economy stays the way it is now people will move in quickly.

The first and last time I ever shopped at Lakeside was when it opened!
