How medal event is judged:
1 heat of 8 athletes in a 30-minute jam session taking as many runs as time permits. Best 3 runs per athlete are scored & the best 2 count. Judges will score competitors throughout the contest.

The style round is genius. Would’ve loved to see 2 rounds of it to see variation, but sick nonetheless

I think it should be the reverse. Give them one shot to do a dumb future spin worth 10 points and make the other rounds the ‘style’ round. I’d much rather watch that than this helicopter aerials bs.

Yeah every time Birk jumped you couldn't see anything. It was very annoying (he's my fav skier)

Alex did a perfect Zero spin, a sw 1260 pretzel (!!) 180 and a sw tailbutter 1800.
Thats two never been done tricks, both quite different from what everyone else is doing...
Also the execution was flawless.
I think that should have at least slightly won over two insane, but less creative big spins.
Alex is just on another level. So creative and unique. He should have won the gold.

I want to see unique and stylish runs, not everyone either landing or crashing on basically the same trick...
Problem is, like wallisch pointed out he just wasn't quite getting the speed to go deep on the landing. I agree though super stylish.
The scoring is all subjective. It’s very frustrating.
Its the danger of the big spins, Pod had a ton of style with those spins, they were super fast, and still held the grab. A hall should have matched his big spin trick after he already landed the Tail but 18 twice.
Scoring seems so random sometimes....
Yeah, this year was a little more noticeable than usual.
Sometimes I have a feeling they keep bumping scores just to shake up the leaderboard...
But I doubt that's the case.

As crazy as the 2160s are the stylish tricks A Hall was hitting are so much steezier, i think he should have gotten gold honestly

Troy won fair and square, landed on the last blue line for his 3 scores. That 2160 was a closer for sure!
So refreshing to hear someone say that they just wanted to win! I’m all for chillin with da dudes, but to do that no need to huck yourself 50 meters spinning 5 times risking serious injury.

Weird scoring
Sick concept but at some point they need to stop changing the format every year. 33 for Birk was tough to see even if the grab on it wasn't perfect. Missed Edjoy, Matej, and of course Henrik in the big air not the same wo him bringing out some ungodly axis
honestly knowing what Pod did in the last run, to show his diversity and technicality, A hall should have thrown his most monsterous spin trick just to prove, hey I got all the style in the world, and I can still spin to win. would have won him the gold. and I am pretty sure he knew he messed up going for that same trick 3 times in a row. knowing he wouldnt improve it without the speed.
Alex didn't go for the same trick 3 times. The first one of what you mean was a sw tb 14, not an 18.
He stepped it up to an 18 and then wanted to just clean it up in the last round to get the 1 point more needed to win.
Also at that level it would be quite unwise to just spin away without preparation....

2160’s are wack. Next time give them more runs in the style category and make it worth more. We need more emphasis on style and less on ugly future spins or you may as well rename the event ‘Aerials 2.0’.

It is not italian army supporting tabanelli, but italian ski federation (fisi). I don't like this official and formal support in a freeski competition, but i think federation pay for his journey to aspen or something similar...

Troy run 5 was fabulous, alex hall scintillating as always, all of these are awesome beyond belief. The flying skiiers. I miss ragetli in this. They cd show a chart of all the runs scores and cumulative and at the end

Cool comp idea but I think I’m good with never seeing it again. 2022 and 2023 were amazing with 6 runs each and the quick action Really elevated the energy and gave us more tricks. I appreciate the attempt to give creativity more power but this is just not the way
In my opinion, they could keep the style element but add 5 more usual runs in stead of 4 and not have a countdown just set 5 runs
7 pionts for dub 10 blunt in style category is crazy to me when you have so many harder grabs and creativity opportunities. 5 is max i would give to him. The style category is cool idea but throwing 10s and dubs and not even hold the grab all the way... Freesking is becomnig aerials 👎

Style should be the only round they do. The other two were almost pointless with the excessive spins, almost all style is lost as it becomes a contest on who can spin the most. Really lame.
The judging was really bad this year. I like AHall, but the judges love him too much and over score every single one of his runs
I want to know if you can understand - that is, at least correctly name - the tricks he did.
Both of his big tricks have never been done, and there is little doubt very few people could also do them, nevermind consistently.

Poor filming, poor format, poor judging, poor grabs and style, so many missed grabs, the style tricks being mostly weak and the rest just aerials with tap-grabs. Xgames, I'm out. Last year
