it's like Nick & Jodie on 80's AM radio waves lol I don't mind it, but yep as others have said, sounds tinny and far away and just not as good as your usual mics. Some mics have a setting or switch to adjust the bass and treble levels. Perhaps with a little editing sound time the bass levels can be boosted, but might just be easier to use regular mic! Sorry guys, sounds like you are talking into a long pipe with the mic at the other end, the sound is all dull ie not as clear as it was with the old setup, also overall level is way to high and intrudes to much over the video clip you are watching. Would suggest you watch some of your old setup clips and compare with this one.
Do you have audio controls on any of your software guys?... If you do... It just might need tweaking to smooth out the audio... I used to have heavy bass on my new headphone set... But after a few minor adjustments... I got them sorted... Now the audio sounds great... After i managed to adjust the audios graphic equalizer settings... Also have a look on TH-cam for your new microphones make and model... And check if there's any troubleshooting videos... That you might find an easy fix for your problem of muffled audio guys. 👌👍
Best can say about the new mics is that the sound is tolerable - just - but far worse than usual. Does it say "Made in Britain" on them lol? (I'm from Britain so I can crack that "IT CROWD" joke) To be fair, I can't stand the sound of most podcasts where they obviously pride themselves on having the biggest microphone possible obscuring half their face and because they're treating it like they're eating an icecream it sounds way too bassy for my tastes so I sometimes turn off for that reason alone. I was listening to Dr John Campbell's latest last night and thinking what great sound he had for him and his guest using similar tie clip mics without the distraction of huge mics and ultra bassy sound. I just like natural sound.
I've never complained about food, I'm usually just happy to be not cooking. I also have many friends and family who have or do work in hospitality and the crap they go through sometimes the meal may not be perfect. Here in Australia I don't think you can get away with "comping" a meal if you've eaten 95% of it, not that I've ever tried but I don't think any restaurant would put up with that kinda BS.
I've heard novelty Christmas cards that play a jaunty little tune when you open them have more thunderous bass and clip less than your new microphones. I hope you either kept the receipt for them or have them set up incorrectly because they're quite terrible. I would return them to the dollar store you got them from and use your money on something of more value, like a foam toe separator or a pack of bamboo skewers.
I dont know if it was my old computer and set up but i had to learn lip reading , so your new microphones were very good for me , thank you , but you need to look after the rest of your fans

You might want to turn you mic input down to 80% this helps stop the clipping and you adjust the levels in your capture software when editing
