As a Villa fan I don’t like it. He seems to have a bit of an attitude. The current Villa squad seems to be very well balanced and personality united.

TBH , Sterling plays trash. Other the matches vs City last season, his whole Chelsea career is disastrous. Chelsea should pack him to Saudi.
@@agent4758 If he joins Villa, I would bet money that he will have a good season. His Chelsea career has been disappointing but he still has 31 G/A in 81 games. That's better than most Chelsea players during the time he's been there. The main issue is that he has been earning a massive salary but it's not his fault that Chelsea were so stupid to offer him that kind of money. If he goes to Villa where they have a better manager and structure than Chelsea, he will probably be the second top scorer after Watkins and probably have a 20+ G/A.

All they needed to do to the squad they inherited from Abramovich was sign 2 top defenders to replace Rudiger and Christensen, a winger and a top striker. They could have done this with max 300m. Instead they completely destroyed the squad, signed a bunch of no ones and sent Chelsea to mid table for several seasons.

Sterling was also being brutal with his dismal performance since coming and especially last season. One of the most dispossessed players, didn’t lead the pack well infront. Again, how could a player with so much experience say he aims to be the highest goal scorer for his club? WtHeck? It’s competing with your own team mates. Someone who should have been aiming at scoring and helping the team… the moment he made that statement last season, that was it for me.
For a player earning one of the highest wages in the EPL, he played like he was in Northampton. Few good performances from him. Too few to remember

@findingaether it's about levels. NO one else is on a 325k salary and came with the experience and pedigree of Sterling. Secondly, Sterling contributes nothing with tracking back and a lot of times acts very selfish in attack by not crossing or passing when that's the obvious choice. While I agree that the treatment he's receiving is unfair but his output and impact is not what's expected of a player who is by far the highest paid and most experienced player. With his salary we could pay not only Osimhen but another Cole Palmer.
@AR-ktbffh it's not a footballing problem but an economic problem because despite all the bs he is still one of the best in Chelsea team. There are about 35-40 players worse than Sterling.

Where would he play at Villa? Villa have one of the larger squads in the league. Nothing compared to Chelsea granted, but still. On the left they have Rogers/Philogene/Buendia/; up front they have Watkins/Duran; on the right they have Bailey/Tielemanns. Not to mention a huge number of midfielders. The whole point about leaving Chelsea was to get minutes.

As a Villa fan you will be surprised to hear that I except him at Villa Park! In the Euro 2021 Sterling was a machine and he was for City! It's possible given the fact that most of the original team of Villa Ollie Watkins, John McGinn, Leon Bailey and others were placing 14th under Steven Gerrard. Along came Unai Emery and made these players who they were meant to be! Chelsea has bad management due to Roman Abramovich's empire collapsing you can see it all over them! I would except him as long as we are not paying too much for him!
