  • Imagine a tea that has no additives but has an roma of chooclate covered cherries when the dry leaves are first warmed up? Then the aroma from the warmed leaves turns into a flavor of spices, with tartness and sweetness -- almost like a cider, but it's tea! This is some of the magic of red teas (what Westerners call black tea) created from old and very old tea trees grown in Yunan province, China. Sophie's Cuppa Tea's owners travel to tea farms in China and have purchased delicious, simply amazing teas from this provine in Southwest China (and from elsewhere in China). At this remote tea tasting, participants brew the tea at home per the brewing that they are watching at Sophie's on Saturday mornings via zoom. They learn about the land - the terroir that is home to this tea. The comments at the beginning of this paragraph are from some of the comments by participants. Enjoy! www.sophiescup...
