  • CANPACK is a American Giorgio global holdings owned company headquartered in Poland and I am responsible for the business operations in India where we have three large manufacturing units. Two for beverage cans and one for glass bottles.

    What is important about CANPACK is the fact that all the packaging which can pack supply is infinitely recyclable. We are the leading supplier to all the major beverage can fillers in the country be it Carlsberg, United Breweries, Coca-cola and I think that comes from the culture and performance which our people bring to the organization.
    When we were coming up with a new project in Haryana so the first thing a band which came to us is Atlas Copco or because we have a very good experience from their product and services. Our basic requirement was a special kind of equipment they can fulfill our ISO 22000 requirement. The entire series of Atlas Copco oil-free air compressors are manufactured in Belgium according to ISO 22000.
    They were looking forward to compress air room which is more modern and energy-efficient.
    The cooperation which we get with that love Copco in difficult times or in times where we are not able to find any other solutions and that cooperation can fall a lot of the problems which we face whether it is in the case of greenfield project or the case of regular operations. Along with the expertise in compressed air generation and vacuum solution Atlas Copco also has a team that has expertise in doing end-to-end solutions. Atlas Copco worked very closely with CANPACK technical team and provided a unique hybrid solution. After the detail discussion, we came across the hybrid solution which was consisting of a centrifugal compressor with market-leading energy efficiency and VSD screw compressor with a 70% turndown.
    At the same time Atlas Copco also provided us end-to-end solution, had a proper calculation on what the pipe sizing should be there which has given us a very less pressure drop in the pipeline. At the end, the integration of a centrifugal compressor, a screw VSD compressors and a screw VSD vacuum pumps were done outside. Necessary piping, electricals, instrumentation was involved in doing all the compressed air network. Along with compressors we provided heat of compression trials which have zero air loss and minimal pressure drop across them delivering negative dewpoint air consistently to CANPACK process. The negative dewpoint delivered by the heat of compression technology has helped us in removing the moisture and eliminating the contamination in the can. The cans produced by CANPACK means 100% oil-free air. Here comes an assurance from Atlas Copco that we produced the compressors under compliance of class zero certification that is eliminating any contamination of oil in the compressed airline.
    Quality of air delivered by Atlas Copco compressed air solution avoids any risk of contamination. Thus the customer is assured with the highest quality product for his manufacturing process. Air and vacuum were delivered right on time without affecting the startup date. There is a huge similarity between Atlas Copco and CANPACK both in the way they manage their internal processes as well as in their agendas for the society.
    After the installation, we found that is they were very energy-efficient about 10 to 15% of energy difference was found from our previous plant to this plant. We have received perfect air quality from the Atlas Copco compressor. With a reliable solution provided by Atlas Copco, this has given us quality air hence this has given us peace of mind. And thus the reliable and consistent airflow through compressed air generation solution ensures peace of mind to its stakeholder CANPACK.
