- A brief look at all the leaked maps from Counter Strike: Source. The files were taken from the 2023 Valve repository leak and compiled by me. It took an entire Valve leak to give me the strengths of uploading a new video lol.

The last bit with the experiment of what later became L4D is so satisfying to see. I thought about it often after listening to the dev comments years ago, and now I can finally see it.

It seems like the APC gamemode later evolved into payload mode in TF2, isn't it?

Interesting that at least two gamemodes (Payload and TC) were prototyped in CS:S but released for TF2. The developers of those gamemodes must've really liked CS:S!
@@medicindisquise4271 I think they used CSS as a beta gameplay/gamemode. If you think about it, it will be just a waste of time creating a new game and scrap it all because the gameplay/gamemode isn't what the devs intended.

2:18 Dude, maps are not the only thing that was stolen from the repository, we also have leaked models and textures, including for this nuke, and they can easily be transferred to this map
Many of the new game mode assets are used in counter strike nexon. Apc escort for example is exactly the same as in cs nexon’s battle rush mode. The control point mode is also available in cs nexon under zombie evolution mode
It seems it wasnt only me having fun killing bots that run at you with knives in css and even design a map for that. The cry of fear music for the last map fit very well, the map reminded me of memories extra campaign from cry of fear.
What do you mean you thought it was just you? There is an littery gamemode for this crap which gives bots knifes and changes thier player model to hl2 zombie if i'm not mistaken, i think it's called "zombie horde"

The lighting and atmosphere of de_oil reminds me of the cut Air Exchange chapter from Half-Life 2.

I'm so glad stuff like this gets leaked eventually, it's sooo interesting to peek into the unfinished side of these games released so long ago

The escort mode manage to get into CSO / CSNS / CSNZ where they also use the planting bomb mechanism and it's actually fun (or frustating)
It needs team cover. If you got some good cooperative members, its easy

When you want to show everyone the map in hammer++ that has missing textures, use shaded camera instead of normal camera view.

Wait, maps also leaked for Counter-Strike Source? All I could find was just maps for Day of Defeat: Source and Team Fortress 2...

Would be cool to see if they were planning to implement other things like new weapons or mechanics.
The es_ gamemode would have never worked but the cc_ one would if done correctly
I belive that, Es_ might have an potential for it but you have to find and perfect balance beetween time it takes for T's to win and time that it takes for the apc to move + the map.
Too much brain to make a map for it. Cc_ its better.
I honestly hate Counter-Strike but I honestly love the voice acting and maps in css. Whole game is so charming.
I would love to play payload mode in CsSource!!

I've never played DoD, so I don't know much about the game before and after the leak to talk about it.
Its literally just TF2 counter strike bro is not that mind blowing game.

They were still making maps for source? or its some left over content from years ago, just leaked now
Could you please compile these maps somewhere for us to be able to play?
I dont think the textures are missing its just a matter of searching the file name or directly the name of each texture.
The only map I've searched for textures was cs_site, but there were none I could find in the materials folder from the leak, unfortunately. The good news is that many leak fans are restoring some of these broken maps.
Most probably the textures are already in css.
